I screamed out,
But no one was there.
I screamed out,
Wishing someone would care.
My screams subsided to echo,
My heart falls to the floor,
Discarded,
No one would ever care,
I moved on into the Darkness,
The tinkling of a delicate glass ornament breaking,
Filled with pain,
Echoed off of my chaotic state.
A shattered heart that was cracked too many times.
I lay dying from hopelessness.
It hurt so much to love you so much,
Then realize you never cared.
I was draped with blackness,
Hiding my thoughts,
Suffocating the pain,
All emotion gone.
You were there,
You didn’t care,
You were self-impaired.
You left me in despair.
I fell apart.
I shattered, never to repair.
The blessing of bittersweet apathy washed over me,
Smiling, I sank into the blackness,
I was no longer breaking, I was broken,
Empty eyes staring up into the starless sky.
