Original Poetry Fan Fiction ❯ My Poems ❯ Poem #21 ( Chapter 21 )
[ A - All Readers ]
The words are gone.
They have left me.
Where once I could turn out a poem a day,
A bitter emptiness haunts my consciousness.
The words I speak now drop from me like anvils
Weighing me down
Fixing my mind, inexorably, unconvincingly so.
It doesn't matter what I feel
Or think
My mind has gone east and my heart has gone west
The rest of me lurches north, empty
Dying
I let it happen, hoping someone will save me from sadness
Which my heart was too good to take with it…
