Solace

In the realm of cruel reality, I dwelt,
Devoid of love, passion and magic,
Feeling nothing, hearing nothing,
Seeing only shades of gray.

My existence was simply a myth,
I did nothing,
Nor, was I, inclined to,
Until  you came into my life.

Smiles were my enemy,
I found solace in tears-
Pain, regret and guilt pulled me down,
Until I found solace in you.

They all tried to pull me away,
My friends, my parents- everyone,
But no one knew you,
Or knew how much I loved you.

Maybe they were right,
Maybe this is another fantasy of lies,
But for now, I am happy,
And it's all because of you.
