Dedicated to my friend,
Rebecca “Teal” Green
...As the feathers spread, some fall, slowly gliding from the heavens to the earth below. Wings, their infernal beauty, such as of the melancholy joy one feels upon times of death and dread. Black wings, which carry those souls into the heavens, are the personification of beauty itself. Feathers, soft to the touch, yet strong and steadfast so as to lift the weight of the world's grief. Feathers, shining brightly as the sun gazes upon these archaic forms of such elegance and magnificence...those black, feathered wings of beauty...
Such beauty, oh such beauty, words could not describe such things
No, words could not describe the deadly darkness of these infernal wings
As the feathers fall through the clouds, a dim downpour, a murky rain begins
So as to fell the silky black wings whilst they descend
To carry our souls, to carry those that die
These wings, dark as our unlit night
The fallen cry, weep and moan
For these burdened wings so forlorn
Sorrow describes the beauty of these dark infernal things
The horror of lightning glimmers upon such these wings
These wings are dark, infernal as they soar across the dawning sky. They try without fail to remove themselves from this light, soaring into the darkness of the heavens seeking repose and reprieve from the forlorn cross that this world of sin bears. This world, it was of black and white, no emotions, and no joy. These wings were the red rose in this lifeless arcanum. Like fire, upon the night sky, these wings lit all the darkness, retribution falls upon those dead, upon those tombs. As these monolithic wings spread, growing, consuming the suns blood red. They reach the very vastness of the heavens.
Loudly, ever so loudly the stars cry out, for to reach and touch these wings
Oh so loudly, cried the stars, words could not describe these ringings
These ringings, the stars bellowed these horrible effervescent screamings
For, if only for a moment, to touch these infernal, black, feathered wings
Those dark, stygian wings…
