LIKE SKIES

Like Skies before the summer solstice
Beautiful classic and pure
So splendidly wonderful--- copious
And yet so reserved and aptly demure

Thou art a spring flower bud in bloom
Magnificent in the heart of May
Thine laughter, euphoric, causes me to swoon
On thine beauty I'm drunk in this field all insipid and gray
With the voice of a Muse and lips what sing truths
And innocent eyes which beguile all save for I
I adore thou singing and dancing through fields of dreamings and fancies
With a joyful heart that, like heaven's light, shines

Before the storm, in the eye of the fray
Standing on this beach of golden sand
Though it is not there that we die in our embrace
But rather instead amble hand in hand

Just like the sky the sun consumes
I scent a whiff of alluring perfumes
In my eddying heart thou sets a fire
And thine voice soothes my soul like the strings of a lyre

The glow of the moon paints the world with beauty only ephemeral
Like the endless sky
Even after I die
For you, though, my love shall remain undying and eternal
