Longing for a Star
Embedded within the night sky
Burning with passion unbound
Your beauty reflects in my eye
As I stand upon the darkened ground
I often wonder why
as my feet remain stuck fast
”Why can I not fly
And keep you in my grasp?”
glowing brighter than bright
As I stand in the dark
keeping you within my sight
while on my heart you leave your mark
Distance keeps us apart
As your light keeps us close
Gone as the sunrise will soon start
Ending my insufficient dose
Perhaps soon we shall meet
and the darkness shall be lit
and My heart warmed by your gentle heat
And with hope we'll never be split
