To say I love you is a little weird today

I love you, no question, but I'm questioning it in a way

The love we share is wonderful but, a mystery in part

Because I'm wondering how I let you get into my heart

So, I'm asking you this question, “How did you do this to me?”

How did you unlock my heart—where did you find the key?

I put up a wall around my heart—your love made it crumble down

I have no need to be defensive `cause I'm secure when you're around

I never thought I'd trust another man again

Until I met you and you showed me that a lover can be a friend

Today, I'm just tripping off the entire concept

You gave me reason not to love you, so, eventually, that I had to accept

I used to hate all men because of what a few men did to me

I used to think I'd never fall in love again; so, how did you do this to me?

The harder I think on this, the stranger it becomes

I guess I'll just go with the flow `cause I truly love you, hon

Still, I love the love we share and hope it never ends—God forbid

I don't know how you did this to me, but I'm really glad you did
