Writers Block
----------------------------------------------------------------- -------------------------------------------
He writes to let the words flow,
Each type of the letter,
Agonizingly slow.
----------------------------------------------------------------- -------------------------------------------
His fingers clench, the screen blank white.
A flickering cursor and another restless night.
----------------------------------------------------------------- -------------------------------------------
He reaches for the words,
Each type of the letter,
Hoping he could be heard.
----------------------------------------------------------------- -------------------------------------------
His sweats profusely, knuckles pure white,
A fragmented sentence and another losing fight.
----------------------------------------------------------------- -------------------------------------------
He can't talk,
He can't think,
The words won't come.
Every thousand times he sits to write,
The day is already done.
----------------------------------------------------------------- -------------------------------------------
He's frustrated,
He's angry,
He's demanding release,
But his mind still works creatively,
and his performance recedes.
----------------------------------------------------------------- -------------------------------------------
He needs one finished work,
Something worthy to tout
But another bout with writers block,
levels him on the floor knocked out.
