In class the next day, Danny had a hard time staying awake. Because of that, Gabby had to stay awake to keep Danny awake. If she fell asleep, surely she would cry for getting in trouble then Gabby would have to fix it.
"What's up? Both of you look like zombies today," Ryan said during break as he sat down by them with a lunch he had grabbed from someone that wasn't looking.
Danny leaned her head on Gabby. "She's not feeling too well so I'm cutting into my sleeping time to keep her awake," Gabby said as Danny snuggled into her. "You need to eat something. I brought your favorite again."
"I told you I don't like chocolate."
"Yes you do."
Ryan tore his sandwich in half and held it out for her. "Try some of this," he offered. "I haven't had it before, but the kid seemed pretty excited to eat it so it must be good."
Danny reached for it but Gabby grabbed her hand. "Don't take food from strangers."
Danny pouted. "He's not a stranger."
"Yes he is. And he's trying to weasel his way in our life." She glared at him. "I could have sworn I said leave us alone."
"Is that what you said? I could have sworn it was me love you long time."
Danny giggled and Gabby rolled her eyes. "Come on, Danny. I'll get you something else to eat," Gabby said and stood.
"I've got a perfectly good half a sandwich here," he said. Taking a bite of his half, he grimaced and stuck out his tongue. Opening it up, he pulled out a tomato and tossed it on the ground. "Okay. It has one flaw."
Danny took the other half and bit into it. "Danny!"
"But I need it!"
Ryan looked up at her sister and grinned like the Cheshire cat. "See? I'm not all that bad. She likes it."
Gabby plopped back down with crossed arms. "She gets sick and I'm dumping your body in the lake after I kill you," she said through her teeth.
"As long as you flash me before then I'll consider it a good death."
Danny giggled again but Gabby yawned.
"So what time should I come over for dinner tonight?" He asked as he relaxed against the steps and closed his eyes.
"No!"
"Seven!"
"No!"
"Dress nice!"
"No!!!"
"It will be fun!"
Ryan laughed and patted Danny's head. "Seven it is and I'm sure I can find something suitable to wear. We going formal or casual for our little dinner date?"
"Formal. We always do on Fridays."
Gabby handed Danny a few dollars. "Get get something to drink." Danny nodded and left. Gabby's head snapped to Ryan. "How much money will it take for you to never come near her again? If it's sex you want I can do that too."
He shrugged as he took a bite of his sandwich. "We're in a billionaire prep school. I could care less about money and sex I get plenty of both on a daily basis." He stopped and looked at her. "But if you're offering I could go for a little rough and heavy."
"Why are you here? Why is it that you are trying so hard? Save the breath and just go away. I'm not going to allow her to think of you as anything other than some guy that happens to go to our school."
"Relax. If I was trying to get into her, I would have done it by now. I just find her fun to be around. That and ticking you off is fairly amusing."
"I trust you about as much as the teachers trust you," she said coldly. Danny sat down and handed Gabby a soda. "Get one for you too?"
"Yeah," she said and passed one to Ryan. "And Ryan."
"He has money of his own."
"Aww. I'm touched!" He patted Danny's head, smirking at Gabby as he gave her sister a little hug in appreciation.
"Stop patting her on the head."
"I'm not a puppy."
"Fine. I'll just hug you instead." With that he kept his arm around her.
Gabby quickly grabbed his arm and flipped him on the floor. "Hands off!"
"Gabby!" Danny got up and started helping him up.
Ryan stared up at the sky wondering what had just happened. "Pretty blue sky," he said slightly dazed. Shaking it off, he looked up at her. "Judo? Or did they teach you that in prison?"
"Juvy," both the girls said.
He nodded. "I'll have to have you teach me how to make a shank while you're here."
"Wow, haven't heard that one before," she said rolling her eyes.
Danny sat back down just as the bell rang. "I didn't finish my drink..."
"Bring it with you."
"It's against school policies to have a drink in class," Ryan said, still eating his sandwich and drinking his soda as he walked down the hall.
"We aren't going to class. I put the teacher on his ass yesterday."
"Are we skipping again? I'll never pass at this rate..."
"We aren't skipping. We are just going to the class we were suppose to go to. The one upstairs."
"Oh gee. I give you the perfect class downstairs and you piss off Mr. Brooks? Wonderful. That's going to come back to haunt me, I just know it is."
"He grabbed me."
Danny nodded. "You don't grab Gabby. It makes her mad."
"Finish your drink while we go upstairs."
Ryan reached out and poked Gabby, taking their warning as a challenge.
Gabby turned around and pushed him down the stairs. "Hope I broke something."
Danny sighed. "You never let me make friends before break them!"
Ryan groaned at the bottom of the stairs. "I can't feel my legs!"
"Good." Danny started down the stairs but Gabby grabbed her hand. "No, leave him. It's not worth it."
"But Gabby-"
"We will be late," she said. Danny sighed and left Ryan there as they continued up the stairs.
"My spine! My poor broken little spine!" Ryan moaned. When they didn't come back he sighed. "You know, this honestly isn't that uncomfortable. If I had a pillow I could probably take a nap."
Gabby and Danny got to class and took their seats. Again Danny tried not to fall asleep. Finally the bell rang and they started home. "You know he only wants one thing."
"Yes...I know," Danny whispered. "But that's ok."
"You aren't going to give him that are you?!"
"No, of course not."
"Then why are you letting him hang around?"
"I spent a lot of my time doing extra credit and working hard in school. I want to have a real fun time at this school...at least while I can. Besides...he's the first guy that actually spoke to me without asking for help with homework," she said softly. "It's nice to be noticed is all."
"You were noticed before... Just...well..."
"I know. Just let me have this ok? Only for a little while..."
"You know as soon as he finds out your condition...he'll be gone."
"I'm ok with that."
They walked in the house and went upstairs to get ready for dinner.
Ryan got out of the shower and grabbed his clothes. Something formal but nice? Grabbing a pair of slacks and a shirt, he ran his hands over himself once he'd gotten dressed. "Not my best look, but it will do." Turning off his tv, he grabbed his coat and headed out the door to the sisters' house, all the while imagining what they would be wearing.
"It's a little tight..."
"You're almost in your third month, of course it's tight," Gabby said and zippered Danny's dressed.
Danny wore her hair up and in a empire beaded dress with white silk. Gabby wore the same dress only Danny's came to her thigh and Gabby's was much longer, touching the ground and in black. She wore her hair down and fixed the curls on Danny's head while Danny put jewels in Gabby's hair.
Ryan fidgeted with the vest he'd grabbed on the way out. He was trying to get it on even as he rang their doorbell. He somehow managed to slip in one just as he heard someone yelling about the door. A smile came to his lips as he threw his coat back on. Yes, this was going to be interesting evening indeed.
One of the maids let him in and showed him to the dining room. "The ladies should been down in a moment. Please make yourself comfortable and snack on the appetizers while you wait."
He just nodded and toyed with some of the food. They went all out, and from the way that Danny had mentioned about it being a formal dinner it seemed like they did this every Friday. He didn't see the point. Normally he hated getting all dressed up unless it was absolutely necessary or unless there was a cute girl involved.
The twins came in a few seconds later. "You actually showed up."
"Thanks for coming. It's nice to have someone to eat with once in a while."
Ryan looked up, his jaw dropping and his hand going to his throat as he started choking on the appetizer he'd been nibbling on.
"Just our luck, he's going to die in our house. Great."
Danny quickly moved to him and started patting his back. "He's choking, Gabby!"
"And?"
He wheezed, reaching for a glass of water, he downed it quickly. Swallowing hard, he winced, but finally managed to get his food down. Clearing his throat, he looked at Gabby and Danny. "You guys look...wow," he said in gasps. Closing his eyes he held up a hand. "Hold on. Usually I'm more elegant with my compliments. Give me a second to catch my breath."
Danny blushed. She had never been called 'wow' before. Gabby groaned and took her seat. Danny followed, sitting across from Gabby.
Ryan chose to sit beside Danny, smiling as he glanced over at Gabby. "Thank you for inviting me. It is rare that I get to enjoy dinner with two beautiful ladies."
"Just keep your hands above the table and you will walk out of here in one piece," Gabby said as the first course was served.
"Aww, but Danny's dress gives me the loveliest view of her thigh. Her skin seems so silky smooth, I'm just dying to touch it," he teased.
Danny blushed brightly and started pulling at her dress to make it longer. "I told you to wear mine."
"Why? The dress she's wearing looks perfect on her. It hugs all the right places."
Danny started covering herself. "Come sit by me, Danny."
He nudged Danny and smiled. "Relax. I'm just joking. You look beautiful this evening."
"T-thank you," she whispered as she blushed.
"Don't tease her, Ryan. You make her uncomfortable."
"I wasn't teasing her. She does look beautiful."
"Yes, I know she does," Gabby smiled. "I tell her that all the time." Danny shifted. "Eat up, Danny. You need to start eating more."
"Oh...right," she nodded.
Ryan glanced between the two sisters, wondering what was unsaid between them yet made perfect sense to one another. He nibbled on his dinner, watching the way that Gabby acted like a mother hen about everything that Danny did.
Bye desert Danny stood. "Excuse me," she whispered and rushed to the bathroom. Gabby sighed.
"Everything okay with her? I mean, she doesn't seem to be able to hold her food down very well," Ryan commented.
"It's a family issue. Not anything you should be nosy about," Gabby said as she picked at her desert.
"Okay. Didn't mean to pry into sensitive subject. Just worried about her is all."
"Why exactly? You haven't known her that long and yet here you are in my house pretending to play nice. What's your game? If it's to sleep with her, you won't have any luck. She doesn't sleep with anyone."
"Listen, just cause I've popped more cherries then a pie maker doesn't mean that I'm after your sister's virginity. I don't want to sleep with her. I just find her...fun to be around."
"Right..."
Danny came out of the bathroom and sat back down. "Sorry." She looked at her plate. "Take it back. I don't like chocolate," she said to the maid.
"But...I thought..."
"She doesn't like chocolate anymore so take it back. Bring her something else," Gabby said with narrow eyes.
The maid nodded and quickly took the plate away.
"I thought all girls liked chocolate. It comes with the whole boobs and period stuff."
Danny blushed. "Not everyone is as big as an airhead as the girls you fuck."
"Gabby...please don't say such things at the table."
"What does chocolate and being an air head have to do with anything?"
"She means that the girls you sleep with are robots and think alike," Danny explained.
"Um, Ms. Daniela, the chief would like to know what you wish to have for desert," the maid asked softly.
"It's not that hard. Anything without chocolate. Is he stupid?"
"Gabby, please be nice," Danny said softly. She looked at the maid. "Can I just have a strawberry milkshake with some cherries?"
The maid nodded and rushed off.
"Hey that's not true. I sleep with a wide variety of girls. Cheerleaders, basketball players, wrestling stars, physics majors, and musicians. All of them loved chocolate." He dipped his spoon in his sundae. Taking a few bites, he let his eyes travel over Danny as she drank some of her milkshake. "So how's school going? The teachers seem to be in love with you."
"I like school. I've always liked school," she said smiling. She put a cherry in her mouth. "I like the challenge."
He chuckled at that. "Yeah, school can be very challenging especially when half of the teachers hate you and you sleep in class."
"I'll drink to that," Gabby said as her glass was filled with champagne. She waved to the maid and Ryan's glass was filled as well.
He smiled and sniffed the champagne. "Excellent year." Toasting Gabby, he took a small sip. He smirked as he looked over at Danny. "No champagne for you?"
Danny quickly shook her head. "No. I don't drink," she said softly.
They moved to the sitting room and Gabby watched Ryan closely.
