All Hallows Eve. As she would have called it centries before. Now, Halloween. Her lips curved. A time when she could be what she was. Julie Anne-Marie Larettz.
"Non." She whispered to the cat at her side, absently stroking the silk black fur, trailing her fingers along the arched back. The claws dug deeper for a moment before they released. She brought her hand to her mouth, sucking the four small minature drops of blood from where the cat had pierced her skin. With but a sound of wind, she jumped to the ground, rather glided it seemed. She loved All Hallows Eve. The darkness that came with it. The darkness she thrived in.
Without thought she appeared within a dimly lit room. Her fingers trailed ansently over the smooth surface, merest of touches over the tightly pulled strings. There was another one almost like this one...Almost. The thoughts, unbidden came, after centries, before she let them drift off again. She didn't dare dwell on something that could be so deadly.
She had already fed this night. Remembered the sweet taste of their fears. Their lives elixor, their very blood. Though she hadn't killed them. She had killed before. Killed more than she could remember. She would do so again if she wished. If she needed. On this night, it was hers. Her night. For all of her kind. She wasn't daft, others like her resided in this city, creatures of the night. But, as she hoped all knew, it was not all fun and games. There were otherss, mere humans, who knew of their exsistence. They were but mere humans, but deadly in there hunt. Not many of the vampires lived, that much she knew. The hunter would be out this night. Maybe more than one. Knowing that just as she did that this was a night of fun for them all. She smiled. Oh yes, it was going fun.
Her gaze dropped to the small instrument and without thought she picked it up. She'd always played, or used to. But not anymore. Never. Ever. She fitted the piece against her shoulder, resting her chin on the end, picking up the small piece that came with it. Her eyes drifted shut as she swept it across the strings. Music drifted off into the night. Filling the darkness. The notes in her mind tinged with gold and silver, brillant light flowing around it. A sweet beautiful melody. The tune changed, softening. Without thought, words slipt past her lips, memories crept unbidden into her mind. "Come to me...Touch me..."
Her voice was a soft melody of beauty, beautiful notes blended together, rising to the sky. Images flashed in her mind and a small jerk shook her arm. Her eyes clenched tight against the memories. Her hand moved in deeper strokes, changing the music. More images and her eyes closed tighter, an undefinable look crossing her features. Images of hot skin against naked hot skin, bodies against silk sheets...
Her eyes flew open, traces of tiny red lines in the corners of her vibrant brown eyes. A drop of ruby red blood trickled from her nose. The instrument stick clutched in her hand, the length of it carried a long line of blood that pooled in the middle as if it itself were bleeding from the memories... She put the instrument away slow. "Damn you!" She whispered softly. She had gotten carried away and...remembered. "Damn you..." She whispered again, almost brokenly. Even centries later he plagued her. She closed her eyes and willed herself to breath, moving away from unwanted memories.
