Love-Hate Relationship II: Lesson
“So you never exactly explained to me why you and him got married so fast, it doesn’t seem like anything you’d do to be so reckless,”
Jousho and one of his best friends, Kanashii Hisou, were talking over coffee as they often did at work. Being her typical busy-body self, she was slightly worried about her friend going off and getting married so suddenly to an eighteen year old boy when the man was supposedly straight. But I guess any sane person would be worried about that too.
“It’s a bit personal Kanashii,” he said, lowering his voice. She really didn’t see the need, they were inside his personal office and no one else was in there.
“But I won’t tell,” she promised, lacing the red head’s pinky with hers, sealing the deal.
“It’s not that, it’s just that he might not want me telling his business,” Jousho replied.
“So lets just talk in generals, you don’t have to go into too much detail,” she suggested.
He let out a sigh and began in a hushed tone, “Well he was pretty much screwed by the law. No family adopted him when he arrived in Heaven because they thought he was a trouble maker. So he ended up getting adopted by a man who was essentially his pimp, and ended up being trapped in this whole prostitution thing for two years. Once I found out about that and how he wasn’t allowed to leave until he was twenty-one unless granted permission by his guardian, I was worried about him. Not to mention that I was starting to fall for him and I knew I was the only one he could trust. So, the only option I saw, despite how reckless it was, was to get married because that meant he was with me and we’re family now. I couldn’t forgive myself if I allowed him to stay in that situation any further.”
“Oh my…” Kanashii gasped, covering her mouth as her eyes widened. “No one ever would’ve guessed he went through all that. Especially not the way he strolls around like he owns the place.”
“So you see now the assumptions everyone made about him? It just hurts to know all his life, even his mortal life, people misjudged him like that and he had no one,” Jousho muttered, starting to feel more upset with himself.
“Don’t worry about it Jojo, he has you now, and he seems like the happiest person in the world for it,” Kanashii praised her friend, patting him on the shoulder. “Don’t dwell on the past, you can’t change that. Just worry about making his future the best it could possibly be.”
“His future…” Jousho thought aloud, starting to get an idea.
“I feel bad I can’t cook for you, I mean, I’m your wife, right? My big sexy should be eating the best dinners, not this instant crap,” Daiki complained as he put a kettle of water on the stove for cup ramen.
“It’s alright, I was a bachelor for a long time and I’m used to eating instant crap,” Jousho replied, kissing the raven haired boy on the cheek.
“But you’re married now! I should be bringing something to the table too, you work, so I should cook,” he explained.
“I’ll forgive that if you could do me a huge favor. It would benefit you the most anyways and I really want you to think about this,” Jousho began, looking his life partner in the eye. The raven nodded, and he continued. “How about going back to high school?”
“Jousho I’m eighteen, there’s no point in me going back to high school. I mean on Earth there would be, but I have a good paying job as the God of Hate so why go back to school?”
“Even the youngest gods go to high school in Heaven. Ureshii went when he was younger, Jakkie goes, Lian goes, Sora goes. In fact, you dropped out when you were a sophomore right? You might be in the same class as all of them,” Jousho pointed out.
“Wow that sounds fun,” Daiki replied with sarcasm as he took the boiling kettle off the stove and poured hot water into the cup ramen. “But I guess I’ll go if it’ll make you happy. Although I will miss harassing you at work. And speaking of which, I’m feeling a little aroused –let’s mess around,” the boy exclaimed, pushing his lover against the wall.
“Let’s eat dinner first before you get yourself too carried away,”
“We have yet another new addition to our class today, his name is Daiki Oshiro,” Amai-sensei introduced the raven in her sweet-as-honey voice.
Daiki homed in on the three people in the back row he already knew, Sora, Lian, and Jakkoshi. He took the available seat between Sora and Lian.
“Oh no, you came back,” Jakkie commented.
“High school is going to be a bit more… interesting… the second time around,” Daiki spoke, not really directing that towards anyone, although he was looking at Sora in a way that made the boy blush uncharacteristically. Sora was always the boy that made others blush, not the boy that did the blushing.
“Daiki… what the hell, you’re married remember?” Sora scolded him, turning his head.
“I know, I just like to tease people a little,” the raven exclaimed, pinching the blushing boy’s cheeks.
“That’s highly inappropriate, you know,” Haruna, Jakkoshi’s ex-girlfriend, cut in.
“I know girly, but you’ve never been away from your husband for seven hours a day have you?” Daiki whined.
“No, but you just sound like a raging horn-ball,” Haruna countered.
“Better to get too much than not enough,” the raven laughed.
The other boys smirked, knowing the newcomer did have a point, and Haruna just turned back to her own desk, defeated.
“Even still, you are a raging horn-ball,” Jakkie added.
During lunch, the boys all sat at a table in the cafeteria together.
“You kind of stick out, Daiki. You’re all tall and mature looking and everything,” Sora pointed out as he sat next to the older boy. It was starting to become more obvious that Sora liked Daiki.
“He’s old. He doesn’t need to be in high school anymore,” Jakkie said.
“I don’t want to be in high school anymore, I’m only here because my big sexy Jousho wants me to finish school,” Daiki explained.
“So you’re basically letting Jousho tell you what to do?” Jakkie spoke, trying to wear on Daiki’s nerves.
“He only said I should come back because he had my best interests at heart. Besides, the decision was left up to me, not him,”
“Must be hard staying away from your husband all day if you’re a sex addict,” Jakkie remarked, smirking.
“Jakkoshi, shut up. I’d like to see how’d you react if Lian weren’t here for a day,” Daiki countered.
“He’d melt into a puddle of nothing because he wouldn’t have his little cuddle buddy to cling on to,” Sora laughed.
“No I would not!” Jakkie argued. “I’m practically a grown man and I can go without Lian for one day! I’m not a baby!”
“But Jakkie,” Lian spoke, barely above a whisper. “I really don’t think I could go a day without you.”
Jakkie looked his green-haired boyfriend in the eyes and sighed, “Okay fine, I couldn’t go without Lian for a day either. You’re right Dai. But, I could still see you being such a sex addict that you’d cheat on Jousho.”
“I would never cheat on Jousho! I do flirt a lot with people, but I don’t have sex with anyone but Jojo. And I’d never kiss anyone but Jojo,” Daiki promised.
“But what about Sora?” Haruna questioned, popping up out of nowhere.
“I like teasing Sora, and for the rest of the day he’s going to be my bitch,” the raven proclaimed.
“Great…” Jakkie and Haruna groaned, while Sora laid his head on the table trying to hide his blushing.
As Amai-sensei was explaining the Periodic Table of Elements, Daiki was starting to lose interest in school. He had the attention span of a child, and couldn’t really pay a lot of attention to class anymore after lunch had been over with. So, he decided to mess with Sora again, while he could surprise him.
Daiki’s hand inched toward Sora’s thigh, and he slowly and sensually ran his hands along the younger boy’s leg.
“Hey!” Sora hissed, giving the boy a warning look. “Stop trying to feel me up!”
The raven scooted his chair closer to the young boy, and hugged him tightly. “Eh, sorry, I told you I won’t be quitting anytime soon.”
“Yes but you’re getting dangerously close to grabbing my-“
No sooner than the words had left the moon god’s mouth, the other boy had done exactly that. And then the moon god promptly smacked the raven’s hand.
“Well damn, sorry,” Daiki remarked, holding his reddened hand.
“I’m surprised you ever did get married at all, you don’t consider anyone’s feelings but your own,” Sora scoulded the older boy.
“What are you talking about?”
“Look, I know flirting is just your thing, but I don’t like you doing it to me. It just hurts, okay?”
“Why does it hurt you?” Daiki questioned, confused.
“Anyone else it wouldn’t bother me, but since it’s you, I don’t want you flirting with me. It’s hard because you’re married, and since you’re always flirting with people like you like them or something, they have real feelings for you. And since I’ll never be able to have you, I don’t want to waste time playing with you.”
“You have some nerve,” the raven countered. “That’s all you do is play with people. You flirt with girls, you flirt with guys, you create these crazy potions to trick others into thinking they’re really into you when they’re not. Then you sell those crazy potions so other people can continue the cycle of tricking others into thinking they’re in love.”
“Because it makes it hurt less when you realize no one really likes you…” Sora confessed, just as the bell ending class rang.
Sora and the other students made their way out the door, but Daiki lagged behind a little.
“Daiki, you think you’d be a little more quick on your feet to get home, what’s the matter?” Amai spoke to her student as she erased her board.
“I dunno sensei, is it really that bad to flirt when you’re married?” he asked.
“I suppose it’s not, since you’re really flirtatious and all. But you may need to tone it down some, that’s what your friends are telling you. It might help if you know why you flirt so much,” she explained.
“Because I don’t like being away from my Jojo for so long,”
“Well you know, if you begin trying to have some self-restraint, you’ll feel so much happier at the end of the day when you finally get to see Jousho. Just trust me. In the mean time, you should keep yourself busy by doing things like housework, cooking, homework, paying attention in my class,” she listed, patting the raven on the head.
“Thanks sensei,” he replied, before rushing out the class room.
One more disappointment: even though school let out at three, Jousho didn’t get off from work until seven. Daiki couldn’t understand how he had been so dumb to think that his beloved husband would be at home by now.
Then, the perfect thing hit him: cooking! He would cook for his husband like the perfect wife did! Of course, he would have to enlist in the help of the only two people he knew that cooked, Ureshii and Netami. Which… would be difficult, considering that he and Netami don’t exactly get along.
~Flashback~
The first day that Daiki started at the office, the others didn’t know what to expect. He was sixteen at the time, and even though he looked sixteen, all the ladies just thought he was adorable.
“Aww, look at him!” Yasu cooed, pinching the teen’s cheeks as he sat in his new office, at his new desk. Yasu was sitting at one end of his desk, treating the raven like he was a baby. Kanashii was standing on the other side of him, and there were plenty of other women in there too.
But Daiki didn’t exactly hate the attention, having plenty of young, cute women fussing over him truly was heaven. And the perv was overwhelmed with all the places to look, such as down blouses or at behinds, for example. The poor, unknowing women (and men, too), of that office had no idea that the young boy was a notorious groper.
The other men of the office knew this kid was already on their bad side as they stared jealously in the doorway. Sadly enough, he actually preferred those men over the women.
“Isn’t he just the cutest?” one lady chimed in, squeezing him.
“I feel so bad, I could just do the naughtiest things to him… but he’s not legal,” Kiku sighed, leaning on the desk.
“But you’re married!” the other women giggled.
Her husband turned completely crimson in shame as the other men in the crowd stared at him.
“Oh, I wouldn’t say no to that…” he replied, low enough where the men didn’t hear him, and the women giggled again.
“C’mon now! You girls are acting like you just got a new puppy or something! This is a place of business and we have work to do, before Kami gets on my ass for letting you all loiter around,” Jousho yelled, getting everyone’s attention. “That means you too, Daiki.”
When everyone started to clear out to go back to lunch, Daiki walked up to Netami and Jousho who were talking about something.
“Excuse me,” he interrupted the two. “I’m sorry about causing such a commotion today.” The raven spoke using his sweetest voice and flashing his big, indigo eyes.
“Look kid, you’ve got something coming if you think you’re just going to come up in here and steal all the women away with your young adorableness!” Netami argued.
“Well I wasn’t trying to, it just happened,” he replied, smirking.
“Don’t act like we didn’t all see that smile on your face, then and now! You enjoyed all that attention… and all those boobs… and all that ass too…” the older man trailed off.
“Netami… get back to the point please,” Jousho nudged his best friend.
“You had them like putty in your hands!” Netami exclaimed.
“Well there’s no need to be jealous,” Daiki responded, starting to walk away. “You can have me in your hands if you want to,” he said just as he groped the unsuspecting man.
It took a second for the whole thing to register. Daiki had that insatiable smirk on his face again, like he’d gotten away with something. Jousho, the only witness looked shocked of course, but Netami was just absolutely livid.
“WHAT THE HELL?!” Netami shouted, completely overreacting and surprising the teen just the same. “What is the matter with you, you sick little child? No guy does that to Netami and gets away with it! You can go ahead and do that to anybody else who’s stupid enough to let you get away with it just because you’re a little kid, but you aren’t going to do that to me!”
He grasped for the teen but Jousho was quicker to hold him back. The whole office was staring now as Daiki ducked into his office and slammed the door.
“Get back in here and take it like a man you little punk-ass mother fu-“ Netami was cut off by his best friend covering the raging man’s mouth, to save the rest of the office from hearing Netami’s oh-so-colorful vocabulary.
And that’s why Daiki never even attempted to grope Netami again, the former homo-phobe.
~End of Flashback~
But, now that Daiki is married and Netami has a boyfriend and he doesn’t have to worry about something like that happening again, maybe he’ll decide to help.
“Thank you Netami-kun!” Daiki said as he got on his knees as the brunette and his blonde walked through the door. “I’ll never forget this!”
“Meh, I’m only doing it for Jojo,” Netami replied coldly.
“Oh… okay,” the raven sighed. Ureshii seemed to notice the sullen face on the boy and spoke up, “Well, let’s head to the kitchen and get cooking, shall we?”
Between the three men, they were able to get together a meal without making too big of a mess. Still, there was a mess and it was almost seven o’clock.
“Do you want us to help you clean up the kitchen?” Ureshii offered, looking at the state of the small area.
“Nah, no thank you. I’ll clean it up whenever I have time, but I have to get ready preparing things for my hubby to get home!” Daiki announced cheerfully, pushing the men towards the door.
Netami was starting to think that maybe Daiki wasn’t all that bad, judging by the way he always smiles genuinely when he refers to Jousho. And he’s always trying to better himself for him too, that’s a plus. The brunette thought the whole marriage was trouble from the beginning, but maybe it’s not that bad off…
“Wait a minute, prepare what?” Netami just had to ask.
“Oh, well let’s see… I need to set the table, take a shower, and change into something delicious for my Jojo,” the teen replied, counting off on his fingers.
“Well it’s going to be one of those nights, I guess I shouldn’t plan on calling him then,” Netami shrugged, regretting even asking. “You aren’t going to do this every school night are you? You’ll flunk out again.”
“Of course not, just tonight because it was my first day being away from my big sexy and I was very patient about it,” Daiki spoke proudly.
“Well kid, just keep in mind he’ll be home around seven-thirty, so you might want to jump on it,” Netami advised Daiki before he and Ureshii left out the apartment.
Daiki smiled and thought that maybe Netami wasn’t that bad either, since he was actually starting to help him, although he did say it was only for Jousho’s sake.
Another disappointment: Daiki wasn’t sure if he had anything “delicious” in his drawer to wear for Jousho. All he could find were pajama bottoms after pajama bottoms, and he pulled out a silky red pair. “Well he did say that red suit me, or was it purple?”
The raven heard keys at the front door, so he decided on purple, since it matched his eyes. He threw the bottoms on, then ran to the front door and threw himself at Jousho.
“Jojo! I missed you!” he exclaimed as the red-head took him in a passionate embrace.
“Well I could get used to this…” Jousho replied, before kissing his lover who was behaving like they hadn’t met in years.
“I made dinner for you, like a real wife should!” Daiki proudly proclaimed, acting like a child again. “It’s going to be candle lit, follow me!”
The raven tugged the older man into the dining room, where the lights were off and there was nothing but the faint glow of three candles.
“Okay, what am I forgetting?” Jousho asked. “Is it your birthday or something?”
“No… I just felt like doing something for you, there’s no reason why…”
Jousho smiled at the raven, who was then confused. “I appreciate the appreciation, but I think you’ve waited long enough,” he said as he picked up the teen bridal style.
“What do you mean?”
“I think… it’s time for my little lesson to begin,” the older man explained as he carried Daiki down the hall to the one bedroom in the apartment.
“I’ve missed those so much,”
~Owari (The End)~
A.N: Basically the whole deal was that Daiki was supposed to learn how to live without Jousho for awhile, if there really was a whole point to this maddness. I'll try and get another chapter up soon, please review too!
Warnings: moderate language, no sex but implied stuff,
Author's Notes: Sorry, the ending was kind of rushed and sucked parially because I didn't know what I wanted to happen and two because I really wanted to keep this story's chapters even with the Jealous/Happiness story's chapters (which if you haven't read it by now, please do!) “Isn’t he just the cutest?” one lady chimed in, squeezing him.
