Winter comes and it's so cold outside, but Alez always there to pick Amber up for school and pick her up after school. He never let her out if his sight, although he doesn't always be with her like an obsessive boyfriend. Sometimes he would take her family out for dinner instead of just her, and her family comes to love him and hoping that someday he'll ask their daughter's hand for marriage.
"Hey, are you ever going to ask my sister to marry you?" Erik asks him one day as he wait for Amber. "Well, she hasn't finished with school yet. And if I do, she will have to come with me afterward." Alez reply sitting in the family's living room with both her parents and Erik. "We can always come to visit you guys," Erik says. "Well, where she and I will go is very far." "Then you guys can come and visit us once in a while," Erik insists. "It's just that my home is in another country, so visiting can be very hard." Alez sighs. "Well, you two can visit us every two years or so. Can't you?" her mother says. "If business and time permits, I think that won't be a problem..." Alez smiles nervously. "Then that settles it, when are you going to buy her a ring and ask her?" Amber's father looks at Alez. "I'm thinking of after her graduation," Alez says. "Good..." they all laughs and Amber comes down in coats and mittens.
"What are you guys talking about?" she ask. "Oh, nothing..." Erik replies with a little devilish smile. "What did they told you to do?" Amber asks Alez as they step outside. "Nothing..." "Don't lie..." she squeezes his arm a bit. “They want to know if..." he pauses. "If what?" Amber tucks his arm a bit. "If we done it yet..." he looks over at her with a serious look in his eyes. "WHAT?!" Amber seems shock. "Gotcha..." he laughs and takes off. "Meanie!" Amber blushes hard and chases after him.
He stops at his car and she running up to him, Alez laughs hugging her lightly resting his hands on her waist. "So, where would you like to eat tonight?" he kisses her lips. "Anything and anywhere you like," she kisses him back. "Okay," he pushes her away a little to open the door for her. Then he drives them to his place, and stepping out of the car she looks over at him in wonders. He didn't say anything and just grabs her hand, taking her inside his place he makes dinner for the both of them.
"So this is where you wanted to have dinner with me?" she ask him after dinner and they were sitting there cuddling up against each other. "Yup," he says. "Then why did you asked me where I want to go?" she looks over at him. "Lady first..." he chuckles. “Womanizer..." she murmurs under her breath. "I was thinking of dinner a little differently though," he says thoughtfully ignoring her comment on him. "What did you think?" Amber rests her head against his chest. "Well, I was thinking of my place for dinner..." "And we did have dinner at your place..." she purrs. “Yeah, and you're the dinner..." he says calmly. Amber's eyes widen as her face turns bright red from his last comment, and her heart beats wildly upon hearing it.
Slowly time fly by, it is already pass winter in Japan. Alex is finally healed and is now walking around in a light jacket while everyone else wearing heavy coat. Walking next to her is Ken; they enter the auto shop looking around for a motorcycle to buy. The sales person keep on looking at Alex as she looks at some of the bikes in there. Ken merely follows her around like an idiot, and he is because he didn't really know anything about motorcycles.
"May I help you sir?" the sales person asks Ken. "We're looking around to buy a good bike," Ken reply calmly. "I like to buy this one please," Alex look up from the bike. "We'll take that one then," Ken says to the clerk. "Yes, please fill out some papers first..." "I'll do it, since I'm the one buying it." Alex says following the clerk to the register and fills out the forms. Ken didn't object to her and just wait for her, and as soon as she's done she takes the bike outside right away with Ken next to her.
"Thanks for taking me out, are you sure you're not cold?" Alex asks looking over at Ken as she climbs on the bike. "No, I'm fine." Ken shakes his head lightly. "Um... even wearing a light sweater like that?" Alex says putting her helmet on. "Yes," Ken shivers just a little. "Here," Alex takes her jacket off and hand it to Ken. "But..." "Don't but me... winter in Tokyo is not as cold as winter over there. Unless I'm living up in Sendai or higher up northern of Japan," Alex laughs lightly before starting the engine. "Would you come by for dinner then?" Ken asks quietly. "If you're not making anything raw," Alex nods her head. "I'll see you at the main house tonight, then?" he smiles up at her. "Yeah," she speeds off.
All the while somewhere in the northern U.S. and it is already mid-spring. Amber is studying like crazy for exams for the graduation that is coming up. Alez too encourages her on her studying as he too become so busy on helping Mia with all the books. It wasn't much, but through all the craziness Mia sends him off to retrieve an ancient book somewhere in Arizona.
Finally graduation is over, but Alez didn't come to the ceremony. Amber was a little disappointed when he didn't show up, and even more after a week after that. Mia calls and told her that Alez is on his way back from Arizona, and he will come to see her when he gets back.
"How is your trip there?" Amber asks meeting up with him at the garden fountain. "Hot..." he replies hugging her. “I miss you..." she whispers to his ear. "Come," he ignores her and pulls her with him to his car. Then he drive her to his place and drags her inside, although she follows him willingly anyway. He left her in the living room and goes to his room, then come back with two tickets in his hands.
"What is it?" she asks looking up at him. "In two months, I want you to come back home with me. I think it's time for you to meet my family," he sits down looking at her straight in the eyes. "Wasn't your family live here?" Amber is confuses. "No, they live in Japan. Mia is the only one here, and she too will come home in two months along with me and you." Alez answers. "But..." "I know it's very sudden for you, and not to mention our age differences. But I think that it's about time for my family to meet you, the girl I've been dating for the last six months since I came here." Alez sighs lightly.
"Don't be silly," Amber tilts his chin up to look at her. "I don't care how old you are, because I love you and that's all it matter." Amber smiles lovingly at him before leaning forward and kiss him deeply. Alez kisses her back and put the tickets on the table, then moving his hands to her waist and holding her tightly. She wraps her arms around his neck and pulls him in all the closer to her, as he slips his hands up under her shirt up to her back.
"Mmm..." Amber moans lightly reaching for his hands. She slowly pushes away from him with her face hot red, and she pushes his hands out from under her shirt. "What's the matter?" he looks at her. "Nothing, it's just..." she blushes looking away. “It's just?" he stares at her confusingly. "I'm not ready for that yet..." she says not looking up at him. “It's okay..." he kisses her lips lightly.
"It's still broad daylight outside you two," Mia says standing against the front door. "Mia!" Alez jolts in surprises seeing her and Amber blushes even harder trying to straighten her shirt. "I won't say a word," Mia smiles at them. "Somehow I don't trust you at all," Alez glares at Mia. "Aww... you're such an excitable little boy," Mia walks over and pets his head lightly. "Don't make me hurt you..." he growls in his native language at Mia. “I'm sure she would like to see the real monster in you," Mia rolls her eyes speaking in English.
"Um... what are you two talking about?" Amber interrupts. "Well my dear, if you want to know everything about him. Come with us to our home and you will uncover so many dark secrets about our family that you get to have two choices. One is forget everything you know, and two is accepting him for him and become part of our family. Although that can prove quite difficult to achieve..." Mia says heading back outside again.
Back in Japan, "Get back or I'll kill the kid," the robber says holding a knife up against a kid's neck. "Of all the places to rob, why a book store?" Yuki stares at the man. "You can rob a bank or something that have more money, ya know?" Alex says standing with Yuki and other people in waiting for the police to arrive. "Shut up," the man stutters. "Idiot..." Alex walks away leaving Yuki standing there.
She walks out and sneaks around to the back and comes up behind the robber. By the time the robber feels something hard and cold against the back of his neck, he hears a clicking noise that he didn't quite know what it is. "Drop the knife or your brain will be all over the place," Alex's voice becomes dangerous. "Try me..." he stutters sweating violently.
"Oi... don't pull the trigger..." Yuki says and everyone else watching nods their head. "Well, he told me to blow his brain up..." Alex tilts her head to the right a little. The man was scared stiff, and he even peed in his pants too. Making the job easy for Yuki to take the hostage from the robber just as the police arrive, Alex and Yuki are well on their way to next call already.
The sun already set as Alex walks down on one of the streets in the crowded city of Tokyo. "Where are you going so late?" Yuki says tapping on Alex's shoulder. "Nowhere..." she shrugs her shoulders.
