So this was what it meant to be middle class. He shifted in his old school uniform, watching as the kids piled past him to the school. They were forced to wear uniforms here, but he still hadn't received his which meant he was wearing his normal attire today. Of course his normal attire consisted of a jacket and pants which cost more than most of these kids yearly clothes cost put together. To most the school would have looked like a paradise, but to him it seemed a little run down. It was an old school, full of history and wonder. He was excited to see what kind of books they had in there. Which compared to most schools was a fantasy land, but to him it looked a little run down. With a small sigh, he held his books close to him as he started walking through the halls. Stopping in front of some of the seniors, he smiled and waved. "Hello. Do you know where Mrs. Peterson's homeroom is?"

The boys looked at him and smirked. "Funny accent you have there. Where are you from?"

His parents had told him to try and keep that a secret. "Wales...."

"Uh huh. Hey...listen, I seem to have forgotten my money. I'll show you your homeroom if you let me borrow some of yours?"

Rain paused and reached into his pocket. "Uh...sure," he said as he pulled out some of the cash his parents gave him. "Will fifty do?"

The boys grinned and circled around him. "Yeah. I think we can live off of that," the leader said, snatching the money from him and nodding to his friends. "Show him to his classroom boys."

The guys smirked and grabbed him by his arms, dragging him down the hallway, they shoved him into the janitor's closet. "That's what he gets for being a Richie Rich," one of the boy's said.

"Did you see the clothes on him?"

"And his voice. God, it made me want to sock him, I-" They stopped as Rain cleared his throat behind them.

"I don't believe that was my classroom...."

Fiona looked at the group of boys with the new kid. This was her school. Everyone knew it. And if they didn't...they usually found out at the end of the day when they are limping home. "Hey! What the fuck are you doing in my hall!?"

"Yo, Fiona. This is the new kid," the guy said with a smirk.

"Hello," he said with a smile. "My name is Rain, and yours is?"

Fiona smirked. "Like the weather? Well, weather man, what the fuck are you doing in my hall?"

"That's not really appropriate language," he said slowly. "And I'm just trying to get to my classroom."

"Oh cute...he's a tutor kid." She patted his cheek. "Innocent. And fun." She snapped her fingers and pointed down the hall. "Fuck off ass holes. I'm working."

The guys rolled their eyes and started off down the hall. "Go easy on him. Don't want him crying his first day!"

Rain glanced at the guys leaving and the rude girl in front of him. Suddenly he felt slightly queasy. "I should be heading to my class now."

She nodded. "Schedule. Let me see it." Opening up his first book, he pulled out the neatly folded schedule and handed it to her. She looked it over and nodded. Pulling out a cigarette she lit it and started smoking. "We have all the same classes. Come on." She crumbled his schedule and threw it in the trash.

He watched his schedule fly away and he sighed. At least he had it memorized. "It's against school rules to smoke," he said as he followed in behind her, trying to cover his face with his books to shield him from inhaling it.

"Yep. I'm sure," she said. "You whine a lot. Bet mommy loves that."

"I don't whine. I'm simply stating facts," he said defensively.

"Still whining." She stepped in front of a door. Throwing the cigarette on the ground she put it out and opened the door.

"I am n-" He stopped talking when they entered the classroom. Going up to the front, he bowed to the instructor while the kids laughed. Handing him a note, he was then told to take his seat. Of course the only available seat that was left was next to the psycho girl.

Fiona sat in her desk and pulled out her iPod. She listened to music as the class began.

Opening his book, it seemed like he was one of the few students that was actually trying to pay attention. He kept glancing over at the girl, her iPod distracting him. Writing down a note on a piece of paper, he looked up to make certain the teacher wasn't looking before he passed it over to her. Hoping that she would turn down the volume so he could concentrate.

She looked at the note and laughed. "So cute!"

His cheeks flushed as she said that. Why did she keep calling him cute!? With a groan, he forced himself to study, glad when the class ended so that they could go to break. He was accustomed to having long breaks, so he figured he could take the extra time to familiarize himself with the school. Fiona sat on the steps of the school and smoked on another cigarette. She watched everyone around her, listening and soaking things in.

"Pardon me. Excuse me," Rain said as he scooted and dodged people. Trying not to bump into anyone as he carried his books. Everyone was in such a hurry to get out of their classes. Going down the steps, someone stuck their leg out causing him to trip and land face first on the ground.

Fiona stood and waked the boy in the back of the head. "Don't trip the new meat!" she snapped. Looking down at Rain, she picked up his books. "Weather man, you need to be careful. People love new kids." She stood and pointed to him. Everyone looked at her. "Dibs. I mean it."

"Oh please, Fiona. Don't tell me he's one of your pet projects," one guy said. His eyes were dark and he had a perpetual smirk on his face as he nudged Rain out of the way so that he could talk to Fiona.

Rain juggled his books, noticing everyone's eyes on him and the psycho girl. Just who was she? Everyone seemed to know her.

She pushed the guy in the chest. "Touch him, and I rip your balls off," she said and batted her eyes. She grabbed Rain's hand and pulled him up. "Geeze, could you look anymore helpless?"

The guy frowned and rolled his eyes. "Whatever, Fiona. He's going to get it whether he's yours or not."

"I'm not helpless. I just don't believe in violence," Rain stated plainly.

"Yeah well as long as he's next to me, if any of you touch him, I will burn your houses down. Right, Clay?" She looked over at one of the guys. "How's your summer home? Still in smoke and ashes?"

She smirked and looked at Rain. "Come on, weather man."

"Um...alright." She set people's houses on fire!? What kind of girl was she!? He was doomed....

She pulled him along and to an empty hall. Pushing him against the wall she glared at him. "Listen and learn. Fuck with them and they will eat you alive. I like you. You're cute. And you have something I want. If you buck up a bit, I'll keep you around and they won't fuck with you. But you need to learn fast like that the naive shit doesn't fly here." She looked down the hall. "Come on. Let's get you to your next class." She pulled him along and walked into a classroom.

What...just happened? He didn't know if he'd been threatened or propositioned. It didn't make sense. She wanted something from him? She'd just met him!? What could she possibly want from him?

Classes went on and at the end of the day she looked at him. "Little bit of advice. Tell your parents to get you into a new school. This place is going to eat you alive. If you stay...I will break you." Turning from him, she got into her limo.

"Uh...it...was nice to meet you!" he called out to her. He waited for all the other kids to leave before going to the small black car that was waiting for him.

"How's my young man doing?" His mom was in the driver seat, smiling as she kissed his cheek. "How was your first day honey? I bet all the girls were all over you, weren't they?"

He hesitated, but then he smiled. "Yes ma'am. Everyone likes me," he assured.

"Oh! I'm so glad to hear that!"

Fiona arrived home. "I'm...home!" She called. Her voice echoed. "Welcome home, Fiona..." she whispered to herself. Dropping her bag at the door she went to the kitchen and pulled out a bottled water then climbed the large stairs to her room. After shutting her room she listened to the silence. She should be use to it by now.

Dinner in the small house wasn't quite like he was accustomed to, but it was nice. His mom was cooking for the first time in years, so he and his dad had to grow accustomed to a few burned parts here and there. Even so, they sat there laughing and talking, asking him about school while he slyly diverted the conversation away, curious as to when they would be returning home and about his father's new job.

However, his father was just as good as diverting questions. So it was for that reason that they spent the rest of the night dancing around subjects before he went to bed, wanting to start off on a new leaf in the morning.

At school, Fiona arrived at her normal time. She said nothing to nobody until she was handed a coffee.

"So the new boy didn't come back today," Clay said as he saw her. "Looks like you scared him off."

Hope so. "Seems that way."

"Pity. The kid seemed interesting." Clay was about to say more when his eyes shifted to the door, surprise registering on his face. "Well I'll be damned."

Rain walked into the school, wearing his new uniform. Fixing his tie, he walked past everyone and headed to his homeroom.

Fiona smirked and sipped on her coffee. "Yummy," she said as she watched him walk inside.

"Just so you know, you look really creepy right now," Clay teased. "Or really horny. It's really hard to tell with you."

"I'm always horny. But I'll take creepy," she said.

"Well we could always go to the janitor's closet," he suggested.

She set her coffee down. "I've been working out. I'm tight. I could go for a good fuck."

"Heh, you certainly know how to get a guy excited. Let's go."

She stood and grabbed her bag then walked inside the school. Going to the usual closet she grabbed his tie and pulled him in with a smirk. As soon as they were in there, he pushed her against the wall and smirked as he started kissing her flesh. She smirked and started undoing his pants. He shifted, letting her pull his pants off as he started with her top, pulling it open to expose her chest.

The door opened, a small gasp escaping from Rain's throat as he saw them. "I...I'm sorry."

Clay groaned and rolled his eyes, his fist shooting out to smash in Rain's face.

"Fuck Clay! What did I say?" She kneed him and balls then fixed her shirt. Going to Rain she lifted him to his feet and handed him a handkerchief with her name embroidered on it. "Here. Come on. I'll take you to the nurse. You are so helpless," she groaned.

"Fucking shit! Damn, Fiona that hurt!" Clay cursed as he held his crotch.

Rain held the handkerchief to his nose to stop the bleeding. "I was trying to get some markers for the teacher. I didn't realize that you were um.... Sorry?"

"Touch my shit again, Clay, and I'll do more than bruise it," she snapped. She pulled Rain to the nurse and made him sit down. "I didn't do it this time," she said to the nurse.

"Right," the nurse said in disbelief. She examined Rain and sighed. "You've got a broken nose. I'm going to have to push it back in."

"That's going to hurt isn't it?"

"Oh yeah." As she said this she twisted, straightening his nose back while he whimpered.

"It's not so bad," Fiona groaned. "Buck up you big baby."

"So Fiona, why are you bringing someone in here? Usually you're putting people in here, not bringing them to me cause they're hurt."

"Clay hit him and right now I got dibs on him. I want him fixed up. He's not so pretty with a broken nose."

"Don't worry. He'll be his normal handsome self within a day or so."

He rubbed his nose and whimpered. "Thank you for your help," he said with a small bow. Looking at Fiona, he thanked her as well. She did save him from probably getting punched again.

"Stop the bowing thing...it's creepy," she said as she gave him a hard look then walked out.

Creepy? It was a sign of respect! Thanking the nurse once more, he started out to the hallway and back to class.

Fiona walked in class. It was almost over, but she never cared. Sitting in her desk she yawned and looked over at Clay.

"I think you broke something," he muttered angrily, giving Rain a death look as he entered the room and moved to his seat.

"I hope I did. Next time you will fucking listen to me!"

"Oh come on! The little brat had it coming! He should've knocked first or something!""In my defense, I wasn't aware that anyone would eve be in the closet doing...things," he said with a blush as he focused on his work. "But I am sorry."

"Shut up, weather man," she groaned. She looked at Clay. "Since when do you care about knocking! You walk in rooms without a care all the damn time! Touch him again and I'll cute it next time!"

"What the hell!?" The teacher glared at him, but he rolled his eyes. "Why are you so protective of this one? I've seen you burn down guy's houses over less."

She stood and grabbed his tie, pulling him to her harshly. "Because I said I got dibs. Do. Not. Touch. Him. Are we clear?" she said darkly.

"Whatever," he said, rolling his eyes as he pulled back from her.

She sat back down and pulled out her iPod.
