"I can play the violin!" Rain said with a large doped up smile.
"Yes you can sweetie," he mother smirked. Opening up the door, they brought him inside, holding onto him to keep him steady. When they got to the couch and tried to help him onto it, he ended collapsing, forcing Fiona to sit on the couch as his head landed in her lap.
Fiona's arms instantly went up. This...was invading her personal bubble. She didn't cuddle. And she certainly didn't tend to the...druggies?
"Oh dear," his mother sighed. "Give me just a second and I'll help you up."
"You're really comfortable, Fiona," Rain said, a small yawn escaping his lips as his eyes began to close and he nuzzled her lap.
"Please get him off before he makes a nest!"
His mother laughed and put the things away. "Don't worry, Fiona. He's drugged up. Not a bird."
"He's nuzzling me...that's bird like. I will throw him on the floor," she warned.
With a small smile, she walked over to them and made Rain sit up enough for Fiona to move. Fiona practically jumped away as if she was infected. Laying Rain back down, his mother went about putting a pillow beneath his head and getting some tea made for them. "I want to thank you again for helping Rain and taking him to the hospital."
"You don't have to. It was my fault to begin with." She walked over to the violin and pulled the bow off then pulled the case out of the box. Opening the box, she looked it over. It was state of the art. Very expensive and his name was engraved on it. "Do you know where his music is?"
"It's in his room," she said while pointing down the hallway. "It's the only door on the right."
She nodded. She looked down at her arm then moved it behind her back. "And...your bathroom?"
"Right across from his room."
"Thank you." She grabbed her bag and hurried to the bathroom. After closing the door, she put her phone on speaker and ordered a buffet of food while putting foundation and powder on her arm. After she was done, she walked to Rain's room for the music.
His room was nothing more than a hole in the wall. Just large enough for a bed a nightstand. On the rickety old nightstand, there three things. A photo album, a small notebook which had 'Rain's Journal' scrawled on it, and his sheets of music which looked as if they'd been crumpled up and tossed away, but someone had straightened them back out again. She ran her hand over the photo and the journal. Already he had so much more than her. She picked up the music and took another glance at the room before walking back to the living room.
"Everything okay dear?"
She nodded. Shifting through the sheet music, she found one that was short then put the others down. Sitting down, she picked up the violin and moved her hair from her shoulder. Looking at the music, she began.
"Oh my...." His mother smiled as she listened to his song. Closing her eyes, she let the music sink into her, and even Rain seemed to relax in his sleep as he heard his music being played.
She was sure she was rusty. She hadn't played in a very long time, but she got through the piece well enough before setting the violin down. "It's a good violin."
"It is," his mother said, wiping tears from her eyes as she smiled. "He wrote that piece as an anniversary present to his father and I."
"I see..." Shifting through her bag, she grabbed out a magic marker and moved to Rain. Taking his cast, she started writing his music down, covering every inch of it in his song. She wanted him to remember just how lucky he truly was.
Rain stirred as his hand moved. "Fiona?"
She continued to right, not looking at him. "Yeah?"
"You're a good friend," he whispered as sleep started to take hold of him again. "I really like you...."
"Don't...say that," she whispered to him then put the marker in her bag.
"Why? It's true..."
She groaned. She opened her mouth to say more but there was a knock on the door. "I'll get it." She opened it up and looked at her help. "Set the food on the table and don't touch anything."
"Fiona! You didn't!" His mother stared in shock as all the food was laid out before them. "This is too much! You shouldn't have!"
"It's not really that much," she said then pointed to the door for everyone to leave. "But I wasn't sure what your family ate...so I ordered a little of everything."
His mother nodded and pulled Fiona into a hug. "Thank you." Fiona stiffened. She had never been hugged before. Stroking her back comfortly, she pulled back and smiled. "I can see why Rain is so smitten by you. You're a wonderful, sweet girl."
She pulled from her arms. "I wouldn't say all that. Looks are deceiving. You shouldn't believe everything you see."
"Oh I don't, but a mother simply knows."
She was off her rocker then.
Sitting down, his mother and her made small talk for a few hours before Rain began to stir again. Slowly sitting up, he rubbed his hand only to remember he had a cast on it. "Oh...I'm sorry," he said as he met their eyes. "I didn't do anything embarrassing did I?"
"Nothing that needs to be talked about."
He nodded. "Fiona...you stayed?" He smiled as he got up and joined them at the table. She didn't really have a choice. His mother would have hugged her again. She cringed at the thought. He could tell that she was uncomfortable there. He could see it in her eyes. "Um...you have that test to study for don't you?"
She stood. "Yes! I do. I hope you enjoy the food, but I really have to go."
No sooner did she stand then his mother wrapped her arms around her and held her close. "Thank you for staying as long as you did." Again she stiffened.
Rain slipped his good hand in hers as he pulled her with him to the front door. She grabbed her bag and gave his mother a wave before rushing out. "I'm sorry if my mom made you uncomfortable, but she's a mom...that's what she does." He smiled, his cheeks tinting red when he realized he was holding her hand.
She pulled her hand from him. "Yeah, I've never met a mom that did that." She waved to him and all but ran to her limo.
"Um...I'll see you tomorrow," Rain said with a wave. It figured his mother got to spend more time with her than he did.
When she got home, she felt like she needed a long shower to wash the hug off her. Rain sat back down at the couch, holding his new violin while looking at cast. Fiona had done all of this for him? Really....
At school, Fiona arrived early for the first time. She smoked a cigarette on the school steps while looking at her arm to make sure she covered everything. Even though she was early, Rain was already there. "Those things are going to kill you...."
"Something is going to kill me someday. Mind as well enjoy the things I like before that happens."
"That's one way to look at it." Reaching into his pocket, he pulled out some cream. "Mom thought that I should give this to you."
She blew out some smoke and looked at him. "What for?"
"Your arm."
She threw her cigarrette on the ground. Taking out some gum she slipped it in her mouth. "No thanks."
"It will help with the bruising, Fiona."
"Back off, Rain."
"Why? I'm trying to help, like you helped me."
"Stop helping. If I wanted help, I would pay someone for it."
"We didn't pay you to help us. You just did...."
"That's because I caused it," she groaned and walked away from him, scanning the crowds for James. James was over in the corner, talking to some girls when he spotted her coming toward him. She looked him over and looked at the bandage on his nose. "I break some ribs too?"
"Nope. You kick like a girl," he smirked.
"What the fuck got into you?"
"What do you mean? That runt's annoying."
"Stay away from him. Find someone else to take it up the ass for you."
"No. He's my personal bitch
"Fine." She grabbed his nose and squeezed it hard.
"Ah! Fuck!" He pulled back and held his nose. "Bitch!"
She smirked. "Two can play this game, James. And I always win." Waving to his whores, she walked off and pushed Rain inside the school.
"Fiona, could you...teach me to be mean?"
She glanced at him. "You don't teach someone to be mean, Rain."
"Well, you said you could corrupt me. Isn't being mean a part of being corrupted?"
She smirked. "No. Being mean just comes natural when you realize it's either you or the world. Survival kicks in and things start to fall together when you finally realize you don't want bruises or broken bones anymore."
"Oh..." Closing his eyes, he sighed. "I see. I had hoped there was a manual or something."
"Life isn't that easy. I want you over at my place tonight."
"Huh? Um...okay."
"You want to save yourself for marriage still?"
"Yes..."
"K."
Where was all this coming from? Over to her house.... All he'd have to do is avoid James and he'd be okay.
"There are a few things I want to give your mom. So you won't be over long."
"Oh...okay. I just figured that we could hang out some more."
"I don't hang out, Rain. That's not me."
"Well...we could do whatever you do...do."
"You said you were saving yourself."
"Oh.... You don't do anything...other than...that?"
"Not with other people. I don't do friends or buddies. I don't like labels."
"Last time I checked you didn't have to have a label to do stuff together."
She stopped walking and turned to him. "Look. You want a friend. Someone to go to movies with or have study parties or whatever bubbly crap friends do. I don't do that stuff. I don't exchange cell numbers and I don't invite people over to my house unless it has a purpose."
"I...I don't like you as a friend," he said with crimson cheeks. "I like you more than that."
She laughed. Reaching over she patted his head. "I don't do boyfriends."
She...laughed!? He looked at her, his eyes full of hurt. Not because she didn't 'do boyfriends' but because she laughed. He'd never told anyone that before and she just laughed at his face. "Forget it," he said as he started walking to class. "I don't think it's a good idea for me to go over to your house today."
"Ok," she shrugged. Putting her headphones in she started her music.
James smirked as he watched that scene unfold. "Wow. I didn't even have to do anything. That brat ended it on his own."
Fiona said nothing to Rain the rest of the day. Of course, it didn't bother her. But it was obvious, he was very bothered.
How could she just write him off like that? Was she really that cold that she could just ignore him as if it was nothing? Evidently so.... Glancing at her as school ended, he frowned and headed to his mother's car. He could be cold too! He could survive without her help! At least...he thought he could.
Fiona walked to her limo and threw her bag in. She scanned the crowds just before getting in herself. "So, now that the whiny little brat is out of the way, you wanna go to some of our old haunts?" James said, lighting up a cigarette in her limo.
She stopped the limo and opened the door. "Get out." She grabbed his cigarette and threw it out. "And don't smoke in my car. Out."
His eyes darkened as he shook his head. "No. You see, I've realized something. You'll never respect me until I make you scream. So I'm going to do just that." As he said this, he reached into his pocket and pulled out a stun gun and slammed it into her neck.
She gasped her eyes wide as her body tensed then slumped against the seat. James caressed her cheek before reaching over to shut the door. As he did, he saw the brat staring at them. "Fiona?"
James smirked and flicked him off before slamming the door shut, the limo taking off again.
Things were blurry when Fiona finally came to. She had no idea where she was or how she got there. Last thing she remembered was talking to James. She blinked over and over, trying to get her eyes to focus.
"Hello sleeping beauty," James whispered as he finished off the last of his beer. Fiona was laying naked on an old pool table, her arms and legs bound so she couldn't move. All around her was nothing but dust and decay as she laid helpless in an abandoned bar. "You remember this place? It's where you took my virginity. Oh the fun times we had."
James. She groaned. "You have a power trip problem. Your dad doesn't beat you enough."
"Oh, he beats me the usual amount," he smirked as he stepped up and stood between her open legs. He ran the stun gun across her lips, a cold smile on his face as he turned it on a low setting. She tensed and hissed through her teeth as her body arched. "Scream for me, Fiona. Tell me that I'm your master and we can have some real fun." He turned the setting on higher as he began to force the stun gun inside her.
She huffed as her body shook with the pain. "I've....been....through worse..." she gasped.
"Incase, we're just getting started." He turned the voltage up as high as it could go as he moved, leaving it inside her, shocking her inside. Opening up her case full of toys, he began to set out knives, whips, chains, and spikes. He would make her scream.
She laid there, tears welling in her eyes, but she wouldn't cry. She kept her mouth shut. She would rather be silent than scream. Taking a knife, he began to trail long cuts over her thighs and stomach. When he grew bored with that he took a large dildo and pressed it against her ass, not preparing her at all as he shoved all of it into her with one powerful shove which caused her to bleed. By that time, she was numb from all the shocking. It would all hurt later, but for the moment...she felt nothing.
"Scream for me bitch!" he yelled as he back handed her hard and stared down at her with cold eyes. Getting a candle, he lit it and held the flame close to her nipples until the hot wax fell onto them. He then proceeded to lit cigarettes and press them to her flesh.
She started to laugh. It was all so funny really. The reason why she got so bored with him so long ago was because he was always so eager. He never wanted to learn, only to teach. But he never had anything to teach. And when he saw she was growing bored, he left. Now he was back, still trying to prove something. How funny.
"Stop it! Stop laughing!" His eyes were full of rage as he grabbed the knife and raised it above his chest. "Laugh at this bitch."
"You're going to kill me now?" That was even funnier. "That's it, James. Kill the bitch that fucked you up so bad. Cry about it and whine."
"I don't cry!" he said, his hand shaking. "And I sure as hell don't whine."
"What do you call this, James? Therapy?" She laughed. "You never did like being told what to do. And you never liked being defeated. Go ahead and kill me if it will make you feel like a man."
"Fuck you." He swung the knife down just as the sound of gunfire ripped through the empty hobble. James spun around from the impact, blood pooling down his arm where the shot hit. He stared back into the darkness, seeing Rain standing there at the door, his eyes wide and hands shaking.
"Oh fuck. Rain, put the gun down before you kill someone..."
"B-but he's going to kill you!"
"Damn right, right after I filet your ass," James said, switching the knife to his other hand as he started toward Rain.
"Shoot him in the knee cap then in the other arm."
Rain took aim and fired, the shot missing him and hitting into the ground. James was almost to him as he fired again, this time the bullet hit his thigh. The next shot hit his side, causing him to stumble back slightly.
"Fuck you," James gasped as he held his side and thrust the knife at Rain. Rain twisted back, catching his knife hand and twisting it, causing the knife to fall out as he moved and shoved him back into the wall.
"P-please, don't make me hurt you."
"You little brat I'll-" James paused as he heard sirens. "Fuck!" Glaring at the two of them, he muttered curses beneath his breath. The cops were getting closer. "This isn't over." Going to the door, he hurried out so that the cops wouldn't catch him.
She looked over at Rain. "Are you going to stand there or untie me?"
Rain swallowed hard. There was so much blood and she was...naked. Closing his eyes, he felt his way to the table as he reached for her wrists and started undoing the knots. "Are you alright?"
"Obviously not. My doctor is going to have a field day. But on the bright side, the stun gun has put my muscles in over drive. I'm probably tighter than an virgin." Once her hand was free, she took it from there, pulling things out of her and untying herself. "Take your shirt off and hand it to me.”He did as she asked, pulling his shirt off and handing it to her, blushing at her words, but just glad that she wasn't dead. She slipped the shirt on just as the cops showed. She was rushed to the hospital and gave her statement while in the ambulance. Rain also gave a statement but after she was taken away, she had no idea if he was going home or to the hospital. Not that it mattered. She had to have a blood transfer and by the time the doctors got their hands on her, the numbness faded and she was feeling the over powering pain. They kept waiting for her to scream, but all she did was turn her face away and silently cried until they put her to sleep to work on her.
"Mom?"
"Oh sweetie, I heard what happened from the police. Is she going to be okay?" HIs mother was cuddling to him as the doctor came in to talk to them.
"She won't be able to walk for a while and we'd like to keep her under observation. Even so, knowing Fiona she won't want to stay here as long as she needs to. However, I can't get in touch with her mother so she can’t go home."
"She can stay with us," his mother said instantly and without hesitation.
There was a loud crash and a tray flew out of the door. "Who the hell tied me to the fucking bed! I'm not a mental patient!"
"Yes you can sweetie," he mother smirked. Opening up the door, they brought him inside, holding onto him to keep him steady. When they got to the couch and tried to help him onto it, he ended collapsing, forcing Fiona to sit on the couch as his head landed in her lap.

"Please get him off before he makes a nest!"

"He's nuzzling me...that's bird like. I will throw him on the floor," she warned.
With a small smile, she walked over to them and made Rain sit up enough for Fiona to move. Fiona practically jumped away as if she was infected.
