The Lonely Bar
There are down times. Ryan just wanted to be alone. To clear his
head. Who can blame him? Touring isn't easy.
"What's the worst part?"
He takes a moment to think.
Ryan: Almost all of it. I know why we do this, but still...
He takes a long sip of whiskey.
"Bartender! Another!" the vocalist shouted. The bartender got to
work. Ryan leaned over the bar. They had five more stops after
this. Could he even make it until then?
"So what's next?"
Ryan sat up and shook his head.
Ryan: I don't know. Just keep it together, I suppose.
"Are you okay?"
Ryan: No.
"Okay, I will leave you alone then."
The vocalist breathed out.
Ryan: Thank you.
The bartender came back with another glass of whiskey. Ryan nodded
and took the glass. This was his only released. Suddenly, his phone
buzzed beside him. The vocalist rolled his eyes. He knew who it
was, but he just wasn't going to answer it for now. Spare
me, he thought. Ryan pressed the button to turn off his screen
and downed his drink. He was going to need more. Good thing he
didn't have to perform until tomorrow evening. Ryan sighed and
rolled his eyes.
"Bartender! Another one!" he shouted. This was fifth drink? It
didn't matter. Ryan just wanted to be alone. Okay, so he did take a
couple of pictures with fans at the bar. Other than that, the
vocalist was going to be alone. He was going to need a taxi to get
back to the B&B. Still, that didn't matter. He let himself get
lost in the drink and a Japanese Led Zeppelin cover band performing
on stage. The vocalist leaned back again and let himself get lost
in Lala Land. Ryan just wanted to be alone.
