Pandora and Jemima
It's rare that women can be portrayed so close in the media without
any romantic ties. Maybe this should change some minds.
"Who is your best friend?"
Pandora grins.
Pandora: Jemima. We've known each other for a long time.
"Where did you meet?"
Pandora: All the way back in England. We were about five years old
then. I didn't talk much back.
"Who made the first move?"
Pandora: She did.
"How did you two meet?"
Jemima: We were at the park. I was playing on the swings when I saw
her near the sandbox. She looked so lonely. I walked over and asked
her to play with me.
"Why did you go up to her?"
Jemima: She looked lonely. I just wanted to play with her.
"How did she take it?"
Jemima: She seemed confused at first. I can't blame her. I just
came out of nowhere and started talking to her. She warmed up to me
overtime.
"What was your first impression of her?"
Pandora: I didn't know what to make of her. Honestly, I thought she
was a little weird.
"And now?"
Pandora smiles.
Pandora: One of the best people in the world.
"Would you take a bullet for her?"
Jemima: Hell yes.
"Would you die for her?"
Pandora: I hope it doesn't come to this, but yes.
"Would you go to prison with her?"
Jemima: Yes. Though, we would be in prison together.
"What does that mean?"
Jemima: There is a saying that goes a good friend will bail you
out, but a great friend is in the cell with you. If she killed
someone, I would help her get rid of the body. I would help get rid
of the evidence. I would even help come up with an alibi.
"Wow. Would she actually kill me?"
Jemima: No way.
"What would you do if Jemima killed someone?"
Pandora: What would I do if she killed someone?
"Yeah."
Pandora: Wow. That's just... Whoa! I would hope that she wouldn't
do that.
"And if she did?"
Pandora: Well... I guess I would her out.
She looks down at her hands.
"Will you best still be friends as you get older?"
Pandora: Yes.
Jemima: Yeah.
This is what female friendships look like in real life.
