It was the second day when Hayden finally woke. Lucy had just finished check everything to make sure she was healing nicely. She slowly sat up and Lucy smiled at her. "Hey sleep head."

"I...I had a dream that-" She paused when she looked at her belly. It wasn't as big anymore. In fact...it looked like she had lost thirty pounds... "Um...I had twins, right?"

"Yes, you did," Bob chuckled. "Your husband is downstairs sleeping with them now."

"Can I...see them? Are they healthy? Boys or girls? And are they big? Because they felt really big...like elephant big."

"They're tiny things. A boy and a girl," he said.

"So...can I see them?"

"Of course." Bob went downstairs and plucked the two sleeping infants from their exhausted father and took them upstairs for her to see them.

She had tears come to her eyes as she saw them.
"Wow...I did that..."

"You did," he smiled as he handed them to her. She held them close and smiled as they moved about to get comfortable. "It seems they know their mother," he laughed.

"Awww...they have Sai's eyes..."

"Yes, though it looks like they got your hair."

She watched them shift more and Lucy pushed Bob out. "Time to feed."

"Alright," he laughed. Lucy walked over to her and helped her adjust the twins until they were feeding.

Sai groaned and rolled over in his sleep. No sooner did he do this then his eyes shot open and he looked around.
"Oh God I killed the kids!"

"No you didn't," Bob chuckled. "They're up there with their mommy. She's finally awake."

"Hayden's awake?"

"Yep."

Sai quickly got up and hurried upstairs. Hayden watched as Lucy showed her how to burp the babies. She taught her just as she taught Sai.

Sai opened the door slowly and stepped in.
"Hey. How are you feeling?"

"I have twins," she whispered while patting the little boy on the back to burp him.

"Yes you do," he smiled.

She laid the boy down and reached for the girl and burped her. After wrapping them both in blankets Lucy showed her, she pulled them to her. She just couldn't stop smiling.

"Glad to finally have them out?" He walked over and sat on the side of the bed, his arm wrapping around her and letting her lean against his chest.

"You have no idea."

"I bet I've got some idea judging from all the screaming."

She looked at him. "Oh...you heard all that?"

"Yeah, it was kind of hard not to."

Lucy slipped out while they talked. Hayden tried to hold the babies for as long as she could before finally deciding to lay next to them.

"Get some rest," Sai told her, kissing her forehead and taking a step back. "I'll be here when you wake up."

She nodded and wrapped her arm around the twins. He soon left the room, smiling at the sight of her curled up with their children. After a few more days there, they went back home only to find their apartment stacked with diapers, a crib, two high chairs, as well as outfits and things. Hayden carried one baby in while Sai carried the other.

"Holy... I wasn't expecting all this," he said in shock. Setting the boy down in the crib, he walked around examining everything.

Hayden laid the baby girl next to his brother and looked at all the clothes. She smiled at Sai and started putting the stuff away.
"So...names?"

"Uh they're kind of already named," he said slowly.

"Oh?"

"I didn't have a choice. Lucy made me name them," he explained. "Christopher and Elisha."

She thought a moment and looked down at the twins. "Yeah...they look like a Christopher and Elisha."

"So...you're not mad that I chose the names?"

"Why would I be mad? You are their father," she smiled.

He took a breath and smiled.
"Yeah...I am." She kissed his cheek and finished putting everything away before going to the kitchen and starting on dinner. "You know what I really love?" he asked as he slowly and silently moved up behind her.

"What's that?" she asked while she chopped up some things.

"Being able to wrap my arms around you again,." He said this as his arms slipped around her tiny waist once more.

She smiled and looked over her shoulder at him.
"Donna and Lucy say that I'll get back to my weight in a month with the way I am running about and stuff. Breast feeding also helps take the weight off. I've lost twenty pounds just from the birth and breast feeding.

"I can tell," he admitted while kissing her cheek.

She set the knife on the counter and turned in his arms to face him. Her lips pressed to his and her arms wrapped around his neck. He parted her lips with his so that his tongue could dip into her mouth. Grabbing her hips, he easily hefted her up onto the counter. She pulled him closer and was about to suck on his tongue when one of the twins started to cry, then the other. She broke the kiss and looked at the crib.

He groaned and closed his eyes.
"Sounds like they're hungry."

She slipped off the counter and walked over to the crib. She grabbed one and set it on the bed then grabbed the other and sat down on the bed. Pulling her dress off her shoulders, she held them both and moved their mouths to her breasts. He shook his head and turned back to what she was cooking. Sniffing some of the ingredients, he frowned and started coughing. Covering his lips to keep his germs from getting on the food, he paused when he felt something wet on his hand. Looking down, he felt his heart skip a beat when he saw blood. Looking back to Hayden, he quickly wiped his hand on his pants and went back to trying to figure out what she was cooking.

Hayden looked over at him.
"Will you come help me?"

"Yeah.... What can I do?"

She was about to ask when she saw the blood on his pants. "What...where are you bleeding?"

"It's nothing," he smiled. "What did you need me to do?"

"I don't want you near the twins if you are bleeding. They could catch something."

"Okay then I'll just stand back and work on dinner."

She nodded with a sigh. Juggling the babies, she burped them one at a time then changed them. After rocking each of them, she put them back in the crib. By that time, dinner was done. "Where are you bleeding? Let me see."

"Oh, I'm not. Just a bloody lip or something I guess."

She grabbed his face. "You aren't cut...please...tell me."

"Then I must have just coughed it up," he shrugged.

She stepped back.
"W-what?"

"Just a little bloody cough," he smiled. "Nothing to be scared of. My throats probably just raw from all the coughing."

Her eyes stared to water. "It's not...you know it's not... People don't cough blood from a sore through. Stay here...don't touch the twins," she said and hurried down the stairs.

He shifted and leaned against the counter. He didn't see what the big deal was. It was just a little blood. Rubbing his throat, he got a glass of water and downed it. He shifted and leaned against the counter. He didn't see what the big deal was. It was just a little blood. Rubbing his throat, he got a glass of water and downed it.

Hayden called the doctor first and then Lucy who had Bob rush over to with her to watch the twins while Hayden forced Sai to the hosptial. She sat in the waiting room pulling at her dress.

"Doc, you've done these tests before. I'm fine. I just cough a lot," he protested.

"There is one test we haven't done. One...I hoped I didn't have to do..." It was hours later before the doctor came out and Hayden stood. He had a deep frown. "Sai has TB..." Hayden shook her head. She started to pace while she started crying. "You should sit down...we need to talk about treatment and...payments..."

"I thought that tuberculosis wasn't common in the America's," Sai protested, still denying the possibility that he could have something so fatal.

"That's because we have had a way to hold it back and it hasn't shown up in a long time...but if untreated it could cause death. It's contagious and we will have to test Hayden and the twins as well as the loggers. You got it from somewhere, it didn't just appear."

Hayden whipped her eyes as she looked at the doctor. Her hands shook.
"Um...if one of the twins has it..."

"There is a chance they won't be able to fight it off even with drugs..."

She covered her face with her hands. The doctor sighed. "Treatment...is expensive and even if you or the twins don't have it, it is still not safe to have them near Sai. Sai will need to stay here and be monitored until he is cured. I need you to bring the babies in as soon as possible."

Hayden balled in her palms, crying hard and trying her best to get a hold of herself. When Sai reached for her, the doctor grabbed him with his gloved hand. "No. No contact. She could pass it. Call Bob and Lucy and have them bring the twins."

"Doc, how much money are we talking about exactly?"

"Thousands...more if the twins or Hayden is sick."

He cursed beneath his breath and punched the wall.
"And these treatments.... What are my chances without them?"

"You will undoubtedly die."

"And with the treatment?"

"We caught it early enough thanks to Hayden calling as soon as she saw blood. With the treatment and the rules being followed, I can save your life."

"But to save my life my family will have no money...."

"That...is a sad and very true fact."Hayden didn't need to hear anymore. She hurried to a phone and called Lucy and Bob to bring the twins for testing.

Once she came back, he motioned for her to come here.
"Is there any way that she and I can talk in private?"

The doctor made them both wear gloves and masks. He nodded to them and excused him. Hayden couldn't stop crying. "We have some money saved up and we could take out a load from the bank."

"Or...we could go to my family...."

She sniffled and looked at him. "Is...your family rich or something? I mean...you ran away for a reason right? And I was shot last time something from your past came around. We have the twins to think about now. I don't want them getting hurt."

"Trust me, my family doesn't worry about money," he sighed. "But there is a reason that I ran away. A damn good one, but it might be our only chance out of this mess."

She grabbed his hand. "Sai...will this split our family apart?"

"No. Don't think like that."

She stood as she saw Lucy and Bob. The doctor stopped them and the twins were taken away. She couldn't help but cry harder. What if they were sick? What if they were going to die? She only had them for a few days!

"Please...don't cry, Hayden," he whispered, practically begging her at this point.

"Why is this happening? What did we do wrong? Why are bad things always happening?" she cried.

"I don't know," he sighed, reaching out and embracing her. "I just don't know."

It wasn't long before they were separated and she went for testing while he was isolated for treatments. It was nearly sun up when Hayden was told she wasn't sick however one of the twins were. Elisha. She went up to the door where they were keeping Sai and looked at the window since she wasn't allowed in. She tried to form words as she tried to explain to him. "Elisha...she's....she's sick."

Sai's face fell when he read her lips. Closing his eyes, he made one of the hardest decisions in his life. "I need a phone...."

She pressed her hand to the window as she cried. She wanted to be with him but she wasn't allowed to and now she wasn't allowed to be near Elisha and hold her while she cried. Leaving the door, she took Christopher and held him close while sitting in the waiting room. She was told to go home. But how could she? Half her world was in the hospital.

Once he had access to a phone, he dialed a number he prayed he would never have to. It rang for a few minutes before he heard a familiar voice.
"Jeeves," he sighed. "I'm glad it is you."

"Young master!? My word, what on earth are you doing calling here I-"

"Jeeves, I...I have tuberculosis."

"Dear Lord...."

"I need money, Jeeves. Bad. I need...I need dad's help."

There was a moment of silence on the other before the man composed himself. "Alright. I will contact him immediately."

"Good. When you do tell him I'm in-"

"Michigan. He already knows."

"How did he-"

"Your wedding license, young master.... I believe there will be a great deal of disciplining involved, but I'm certain he will help you. Expect word in a few hours."The phone line went dead and he hung up. Laying back and curling into a ball, he closed his eyes and tried to relax, which was next to impossible at this point.

Lucy and Bob had to take Christopher home with them so he could sleep. Hayden stayed in the hospital going from Elisha's door then to Sai's.

Hours later four men entered the building and it was as if time stood still. Everyone just stopped and watched as the four men clad head to toe in black casually strolled through the place. When they came to Sai's room, they started to walk right in.

"Wait! He's sick!" Hayden said. She moved in front of the door and knocked on the window. It was about that time Lucy brought Christopher back to Hayden. It was time for him to eat. She took her son and held him close while knocking on Sai's door to get his attention so he would know people where there to see him.

"Who are you?" The guy who seemed the leader of the group, stared at her behind dark rimmed glasses. His dark hair was slicked back, and his face held a scowl of contempt while an Italian accent coated every word he said.

"His...wife. Who are you?"

"I ask the questions. Now what is that?" he asked, pointing at the baby in her arms.

"Are you stupid?" she asked seriously.

"Try me toots. I promise you don't like me when I'm pissed. Whose kid is that?"

"Mine!"

"I mean who is the father ya dumb bimbo."

"Sai and don't call me names just because you are slow." She knocked on the window again and someone tapped her shoulder.

"Baby Elisha is hungry. We need to get some milk from you," a nurse said.

"Yes...I know...it's their feeding time." She left the door and followed the nurse.

The man watched as they left. "Great. The boss is gonna have a field day when he finds out he's a granddad. Grab the girl and the kids. I'll get Sai."

"But he's got TB..."

"Yeah, well you wanna explain to the boss why we didn't grab his kid?"

The man fell silent and the other smirked. "That's what I thought now do asyou're told."
