The house was full of all sorts of amazing things. A large game room with an enormous pool table. An indoor bar which was packed. Even an indoor swimming pool. Though she didn't go out, out in the back yard she saw a tennis court and several ornate and specially designed bushes. No matter which way she went, it seemed as if the house went on forever.

It didn't take very long before she got lost. She rocked Christopher as he cried then looked for a bathroom to feed him. Nervously, she started knocking on doors to see if she could find one.

From one side of the door, someone screamed. This was followed by a breaking sound as people quickly moved inside the room. Finally the door creaked open and someone peaked their head out. "What?"

"I...um...bathroom?"

The man groaned and rolled his eyes. "Go down this hall take a right, then a left, then two rights, four lefts, sixth door on the right. Got it?"

"No..." But she didn't stick around. Trying to stop the screaming baby she hurried down the hall.

They were glad that she was gone. Once she had left, they went back to interrogating their friend there. "Cut off his fingers."

Hayden stopped in the hall. She looked at one of the smaller doors and opened it. It was just a closet. Slipping in, she slid to the floor and pulled her dress down. Finally Christopher stopped screaming and instead started feeding. She held him close while trying hard not to cry.
"I wish you were here, Sai..."

While she fed him, there came a swift knock to the door. "Mistress Hayden?"

"Just...a moment..." she said softly.

"Is everything alright? I was informed that you seemed quite distressed by one of the men."

The door opened as she burped Christopher. She sniffled.
"I got lost...no one would help me. Christopher was hungry and needs a change."

"I see. Please, come with me I will escort you back to your room."

"Thank you," she said and wiped her eyes.

"The young master will not be pleased to hear that others were not nice to you. I will be certain to inform him of this."

"Well...I don't think they meant to be rude..." she said softly.

"I, however, am quite certain of that."

She swallowed. That wasn't good to know. Once back in her room, she changed Christopher and kissed his forehead before rocking him to sleep.

"Now then, did you still wish to have your hair cut?"

"Yes...perhaps I'll have it cut short like all the girls are doing these days. It's better for caring for the babies anyway," she said as she placed Christopher in a stroller. "Wow...this is such a nice stroller...it even has room for a diaper bag..."

"I was informed that you were to have only the best."

"Oh...thank you," she said as she tucked the sleeping baby in it with a blanket to keep him warm and a pacifier to keep him asleep.

Jeeves led her downstairs, helping her with the stroller when needed. Opening up a door revealed a barber's chair and of course a barber. "This is Emilio. He does wonders with hair. Just tell him what you want."

"Oh, thank you," she said. She sat in the chair and told him what she wanted then stiffened in the chair. She had never had her hair cut before. Emilio nodded and quickly set to work. Within twenty minutes her hair was perfectly cut to her specifications and five pounds of hair set on the ground. She stood and looked in the mirror. She looked so different, but she liked it. She especially liked the clip he put in her hair that sparkled. "It's beautiful," she smiled. "Thank you."

"You're welcome madam," he smiled. "You look absolutely radiant. The flapper looks suites you well."

"I think so too," she nodded. Leaning down, she checked on Christopher before heading out.

"Now that your hair has been cut, I believe that it is time for you to meet the master," Jeeves explained.

She looked at him.
"I...I get to meet Sai's father?"

"Yes. It would be quite amiss for you to spend your life here and never meet him."

"Spend...my life? I...am staying here?"

"Yes, of course. Where else would you go? You have everything here that your heart could ever desire."

"Um...right..." Did Sai agree with this? She shifted and looked at Christopher one more time before pushing him with Jeeves.

Jeeves led them down to two large double doors with engraved initials on them. "I will watch Christopher while you are in there."

"Wait...no. I don't want to leave him. He's all I have right now and I'm all he has."

"Believe me when I say that it is best if you see him first before he sees his grandchild."

She was nervous now. She even felt sick. In fact…she was sure she was frightened of this man Sai had run from. He did have a reason after all. She kissed Christopher's sleeping form before going in.

The room that she entered was a large office, apparently. Everything was hardwood save for the two chairs in front of the mahogany desk and the one behind it. The man which sat behind the desk was as of average height and weight. His dark hair was parted nicely, and his eyes didn't show any malice in them. However, there was something about him which seemed to speak of the dangerous evils he was capable of. "So you are my son's wife," he mused softly to himself, motioning for her to sit. She sat down nervously and gripped her dress. "Tell me everything about yourself. Do not leave out a detail and do not lie to me."

"Everything?"

"I don't believe I can make myself any more clearer when I speak."

"I...um...sorry..." He reminded her of her father. She felt if she didn't do as she was told, she would be hit for it. So, she started from as far back as she could remember and told him everything up until the very moment she walked into the room.

"So your father was a policeman that raped you...." Reaching for a cigar, he pulled it out and lit it before taking a few puffs. "And so you found my son. Got yourself pregnant and had his kids. Tell me. Do you love my son?"

"Of course I do...why would I have had his children if I didn't?"

"I cannot fathom the minds of women. Were you with anyone other than my son? Could it be possible that these kids are not his?"

She paled.
"You...don't want them to be his..." she whispered. "I see..." She wasn't here out of kindness. She was here to get rid of. She had been right to ask Sai if they were going to be ripped apart. And so they were.

"You misunderstand me. I am trying to figure out what kind of girl would spread her legs for my son and give birth to his children. If those are indeed my grandchildren, then they will be given the very best in life."

"I didn't give myself willingly to anyone but him! Why would I just let my body do that!" she cried. She didn't want to be here. They should have stayed where they ran to. So what if they would have to take out a few loans? At least no one was questioning them or making her feel like a fool. What had Sai drug her into?

"Willingly is the point I am trying to make. You were raped by your father. Did he use a condom?"

"Yes...he didn't want any accidents as he called them..."

"And what are your plans with my son?"

"The same plans I had before. Why are you grilling me on my life? I have done nothing wrong. In fact...I can't think of anything I have done wrong while here or not here..." She ran over things in her head. "I think I left the store once with a dress by accident but I returned it only a few seconds later. Is that what this is about? I didn't have the children then."

"This is not about some accident. You see. When my son left, he was not the person he is now. At first I wanted him back, but then I decided that this would be a really good life lesson for him to learn. All he has known is wealth. I figured that if he went out in the world, he would appreciate the life I have given him. However, after months passed, he did not return home. In fact, he stayed away, and I know that he stayed away because of you. When I saw the marriage certificate, I was shocked and appalled. My son may trust you, but I do not know you and until I know you I will not trust you."

"I suppose that works both ways... May I leave now? My son is with a stranger and I don't think Sai would agree with leaving him with someone I don't know."

"Let me see him."

"Um...alright..." She walked out and picked Christopher up. He slowly woke as she carried him back into the office.

Putting out his cigar, he leaned back in his chair and stared at the small child in her arms. "Hand him here."

She stepped back and held Christopher tighter.
"You just said you don't trust me and that you were appalled about my marriage. Why should I trust you when surely you are appalled that I had your grandchildren?" Her heart was racing. She didn't feel safe at all.

"Because he is my grandchild, and because I am spending my money to ensure that my son and granddaughter do not die."

"Then just send us home...at least it's safe there..."

"I have flown specialist in TB here to take care of them. If I send you back to that backwards town they are likely to die."

"I'm not giving you my child!"

"There is no need for you to shout. I am going to give you a chance to calm down and rethink your decision. I wish to hold my grandchild. If you will not allow me to hold him, then I will simply go to my other grandchild."

"But...she's sick..."

"I will take precautions."

She stepped back and thought. She could either let him hold the healthy one, or have him hold the sick one which was fighting for her life. Biting her lip, she tried to think of what Sai would do. Man how she wished he was here. Looking at the man, she slowly stepped to him. He stood from behind his desk and held his arms out toward her. She gently slipped the baby in his arms as Christopher yawned and tried to wake. She pressed the pacifier in his mouth so he wouldn't cry. Despite his gruffness with her, he held none of that stiffness or distrust when he held his grandchild. Cradling the small person, he gently rocked the baby in his arms.

"He likes it if you bounce a bit. Elisha likes to be rocked and he likes to be bounced."

Taking her suggestion, he bounced Christopher gently. Christopher glance at him a moment before settling down and slipping to sleep as Hayden smiled. "He has Sai's eyes...."

"So does Elisha though hers are a little lighter."

"How long were in you labor with them?"

"Twelve very long hours."

He chuckled softly and stared down at his grandson. "Your first time is the worst. If there is a next time it will probably take less time."

"I hope so. I think Sai nearly had a heart attack. Our friends said he was so pale when Elisha came out after Christopher. He thought there were more. For a moment...so did I."

"I believe that two children is more than enough for many years," he stated.

"Yes, perhaps. But that is up to Sai and me," she said while smiling at Christopher.

"We will see...." Reaching out, he handed Christopher back to her. She cradled him and rubbed his tiny back. "You are free to go. Tonight you will join me at dinner." She nodded and walked out.

Jeeves was waiting for her as the door clothes. "The young master wanted me to inquire how...everything went."

"He creeps me out...and makes me feel guilty for something I didn't do. But...he's great with Christopher," she smiled.

"I will inform him at once. Do you believe that you know where your room is or would you prefer for me to walk you back?"

"I think I remember," she said as she put the baby in the stroller.

"Very well." He nodded and hurried to Sai's room.

She went back to her room then put Christopher in his crib before looking through the baby things she had.

The phone in her room rang suddenly and loudly.

She jumped and hurried to it before it woke Christopher.
"Yes? Hello?"

"I hear you met my dad."

"Sai! I'm so glad it's you. Yes, I met your father but not your mother."

"Yeah, I didn't think you would. They're not together anymore. What did he say to you?"

"He asked me about my life then asked me why I was with you, if my children were truly yours, and what my intentions were with you. The whole time I felt like he was getting me ready to have my head chopped off..."

He sighed on the other end of the phone. "Yeah. If you'd given him a wrong answer that might have happened."

"Don't...don't tell me that...I have to eat dinner with him..."

"Oh crap.... Look, make certain to wear something nice and mind your manners. It should be fairly quiet. Don't talk unless he talks to you."

"Um...alright... Sai...I was told we were staying here."

"Yeah, I kind of figured that dad would assume that. We won't be staying. I promise."

"Good," she said in relief.

Someone said something to him, but it was muffled on the phone. He groaned into the phone and cursed.
"I have to go get another shot into my rear end."

"I would kiss it if I could."

"I'll hold you to that when I get better."

She laughed and hung up. Going to her closet, she looked around for something nicer than what she was wearing. But to her...it was all very nice.

"The young master suggested that I help you prepare for this evening," Jeeves said from behind her.

"Oh, good. Please pick me out a dress while I prepare some milk for the twins," she smiled.

He nodded and went to her closet, procuring some undergarments and a short cocktail dress for her.

While he did that she sat in the bathroom filling bottles. She filled plenty for Elisha to last her the night and morning then filled a few for Christopher. When she came out she looked at the dress. Taking the things, she handed him the bottles for Elisha then dressed in the bathroom. She then looked at him.
"Should...I wear makeup?" she asked as she looked at the makeup on the vanity.

"I would suggest something light and tasteful," he told her.

"Do...you know how to put some on?"

"Have you never tried makeup before?"

"No..."

He motioned for her to sit on the bed. Taking some of the products, he pulled up a chair so that he could sit in front of her. "I am not an expert on the subject, but I have learned a few tricks thanks to the young master's childhood."

She sat still while he put the makeup on her and watched the different things he grabbed.

"Blush helps to give your cheeks color where as foundation helps to hide the flaws of your skin," he explained.

"I didn't know I had flaws...."

"Everyone has flaws. Foundation is also very good at covering bruises and black eyes," he smiled to himself at the thought.

"Oh. I see."

"Yes. Now then, you look marvelous," he said as he pushed back to examine her.

She looked at herself in shock as she stared at the mirror. She really did look so different now. But it was nice. She looked a little older which was nice since she had children. Standing, she grabbed Christopher and changed him before putting him in the stroller.

He led them down stairs to the dining hall. Normally it was packed full of people, but tonight there was only one person. "Come sit here."

She moved the stroller next to her and sat down. Taking a pacifier she slipped it in Christopher's mouth before setting a stuffed bear she found in front of him. Lobster, steak, and caviar was moved in front of them. Jeeves set the plates out and then stepped back in case they needed them. Like Sai said, she didn't speak. She ate in silence until Christopher cried. Setting her fork down, she lifted him in her arms and moved a bottle to his lips.

Setting down his fork, Sai's father watched her for a moment before clearing his throat. "Hand him here."

"You want to feed him?"

"Yes."

She stood and walked over to him then placed the baby in his arms. He cradled the crying infant, bouncing him slowly to calm him until she handed him the bottle. Hayden sat back down and watched. "What kind of education do you have, Hayden?" he inquired while the small infant sucked on his bottle.

"I went to school until I ran away a year ago."

"I see, and what do you intend to do with your life? You cannot work while caring for children."

"Well...I'll work and have someone help with the children."

"So you would be content with someone seeing your children more than you would?"

"No, I would work until noon so I would care for them until Sai came home."

"Yes at his...logging job," he sighed. "I cannot begin to understand what was going through that boy's mind."

"He's supporting his wife and children. It's an honorable thing to do. And when the twins get older, they will be grateful just as I am."

"If he wanted to support you properly he would have brought you back here where they could be well taken care of."

"No, that is relying on someone else to take care of us," she said.

"Not when it is family and the money used will be his one day."

She looked at him
. "This coming from the man who might have sent men after him who shot at us and hit me?" She showed him the scar on her shoulder. "If it wasn't for Sai, I would be dead. Honestly...I believe my babies and I are safer with him...far away."

"The bullet was an oversight and has been dealt with. I never intended for my son to get hurt. Just for him to be brought back home."

"But you did intent for the silly girl he was with to get taken care of," she said and stood. She placed a rag on his shoulder and took the empty bottle. "He needs to be burped now."

Turning the child, he moved it over his shoulder and began to burp him. Once he burped Hayden took him and placed him back in the stroller before bending down and tucking him in.

"He is an adorable child."

"So is his sister."

"I will have to check on her when she is better."

"Hopefully...Sai will have us home shortly after that."

"I highly doubt that."

"Just because you are his father, does not mean that you can govern where I stay or go as well as my children."

"No, but would you really take your children away from their father?"

"To keep them safe...yes. And I don't feel safe here. I don't feel safe near you or those men who walk these halls and stare at me as if to say they will kill me when I let my guard down."

"You are safe here. Of that I can assure you."

"Then why are you looking at me as if you are about to hit me?"

He shrugged and went back to eating. "That is the natural way I look at people." She turned the stroller and walked out. "Where are you going?"

"To somewhere away from you."

"Very well. I will have your dessert sent up to your room."
