Kira, her gang, Hyde, and D finally are getting ready to leave after a half an hour of raiding the hotel gift shop. Shylah runs over to the van and puts her hand on the passenger door while grinning.
“I call shotgun!”
“No, only mature adults can sit in the front.” Kira snaps. “Get to the back with the rest of the children!”
Shylah groans and hops in the back with Elijah, Sophia and D.
“I guess that means I get to sit up front.” Ron says and struts over.
“I said mature adults. Not immature ones.” Kira growls.
“Who else is an adult here!?” Ron yells. Him and Kira look over at Hyde, who looks a little confused. “HIM!? You’re letting this weirdo stranger up front with you!?” He bellows and points at the younger male.
“Yeah. He’s probably the only one I can have a decent conversation with and not want to kill.” Kira tells him. Ron grumbles and gets into the back while Hyde gets into the front. “All right children, get your seatbelts on and lets go.” She says and starts the van. Kira backs out and they drive off.
Everyone sits in silence until Hyde fidgets and gets enough courage to ask.
“Is it all right if I smoke in here?”
Kira snorts and rolls down the front windows. “Go right ahead.”
“Thanks.”
Both adults take out cigarettes and light them simultaneously before sighing pleasantly.
“Is it me or are those two kind of alike?” Elijah whispers to the others.
“What the hell are you whispering about back there?” Kira barks.
“Nothing.” Elijah says and retracts back frightendly.
“That’s what I thought.”
“You’re a bitch.” D snaps.
Ron, Sophia, Shylah, and Elijah gasp as Kira groans. Hyde turns around in his seat and smacks D on the head.
“Stop being a pain in the ass and apologize!”
“No!”
“Let her go. I’ve been called worse by Mil. But I have something you can use so you don’t have to reach back so far.”
“What’s that?” Hyde asks.
Kira takes out a fly swatter and Hyde looks questioningly at it. “My parents used this when me and my brothers weren’t behaving in the car. It works quite well.”
“You use a fly swatter to hit people in the back of the car?” Hyde asks as Kira nods her head and grins.
“Redneck.” Ron mumbles.
Kira reaches back and hits Ron in the face with the fly swatter. “I am not a redneck!” Kira grumbles. “I’m from Jersey.”
“God that hurts.” Ron says and rubs his face.
The whole car gets silent again except for D who fidgets in her seat and folds her arms with a groan. “Can you put music on? It’s so boring.”
“Yeah it’s too quiet in here.” Elijah says.
“Please Kira?” Shylah begs.
“No now shut up!” Kira snaps.
The three of them continue to whine as Kira grips the steering wheel trying to keep her cool.
“PLEASE!?” The three teens whine.
“FINE!” Kira yells and hits a button next to the heater. But instead of the radio a tinted window comes up between the front and the back.
“What the hell is -“ Ron begins but is cut off.
Kira laughs and presses the ON switch to the radio and cranks up the volume to max. “That’ll teach them.”
“What did you do? I can’t hear anything back there.” Hyde asks.
Kira grins and taps on the glass with her knuckle. “Sound proof. I would do this to Mil when he was being a pain in the ass.”
Hyde gives her an odd look while raising an eyebrow. “I take it you’re an expert in torture and interrogation?”
“Yup.” Kira says and then looks at the white haired man questioningly. “But what about you? What are your expertises?”
“Anything really. If my job calls for some specific quality, I train myself for it.”
“So what kind of training did you do for this job?”
“Mostly stealth. My main goal was to watch Mil without being seen.” Hyde says and then frowns. “But that didn’t go to well.”
“Well that outfit you wore didn’t help keep you hidden very well.” Kira says and chuckles.
Hyde grumbles and turns red. “Uh huh.”
“So what made you take this job? You don’t seem like the type to get along with kids?
“I do actually. I just can’t stand bratty children like that girl back there.” Hyde grumbles.
“Well Mil is one of those, hell maybe worse. It’s because Randy spoils him to make up for not being there.”
“Great.” Hyde groans.
“Yeah and you’re his type too, so I doubt he’ll leave you alone.”
“Type?”
“Yeah, Mil likes older pretty boys. And you are both older then him and look like a chick.”
“I do not.” Hyde grumbles.
“You smell like flowers, your pants are tight, and your shirt is like something Sophia would wear.” She giggles and then grabs his face. “You also have a baby face, if it wasn’t for the goatee you could defiantly pass as a woman.”
“Stop treating me like one of your underlings. And I don’t date children.” He growls and smacks her hand away.
“He won’t care. Besides you’re what, 19? 20? Mil has gone after people that age. He just won’t admit it cause it makes him look like a hooch.”
“I’m 23.”
“Holy shit, I thought you were Brooklyn’s age.” Kira says shocked.
“That kid looks 18.”
“No he’s 20.”
“Never would have guessed.” Hyde says and then thinks of something. “Hmm. Speaking of which, don’t you think you should turn the stereo off? I think they’ve gone deaf by now.”
“Nah. They can put up with it for another ten minutes.” Kira says and lights another cigarette.
In the back the music is blaring loudly. Five out of the six are trying unsuccessfully to cover their ears while the sixth looks out the window unfazed.
“MY GOD, I THINK MY EARS ARE BLEEDING!” Elijah yells covering his ears.
“WHAT!?” Sophia shouts.
D attempts to break the tinted window with her foot but it won’t shatter. “DAMN IT WHAT THE HELL IS IT MADE OUT OF!?”
“FUCK THIS! I CAN”T TAKE IT ANY MORE!” Ron yells.
He reaches into Brooklyn’s jacket and takes out a hammer with a small point on the end. He hits the tinted window with it, immediately shattering it. Kira and Hyde go wide eyed as the music blares to the front. Kira slams on the breaks and turns off the radio before looking inhumanly at the six people in the back. Ron shrieks and tosses the hammer back to Brooklyn who catches it. Brooklyn puts it back in his coat and looks forward at the snarling Kira. He cocks his head to the side as cars behind them beep their horns. Inside Julius’ room, Mil sits there staring at Julius sadly.
“Julius. I’m so sorry you were hurt. I’m so weak and you tried to protect me. I wish you would wake up.” Mil thinks to himself. He takes hold of Julius’ hand which and in return gets a light squeeze. Mil gasps as Julius opens his eyes and looks at him.
“Hi Mil. You finally came to see me.” Julius says with a smile. Mil smiles back excitedly and lets out a small laugh. Julius sits up and looks at him cheerfully. “I pretended I was unconscious until you came.” He tells him. Mil looks at him shock but then gets an annoyed look on his face. “Don’t look at me like that. I knew if I didn’t my dad would have pulled me out of the hospital and sent me back to Alpha. And I didn’t want to leave without seeing my best friend.” Julius says lowly. Mil smiles and hugs him tightly. Julius blinks confusedly and wraps his arms around him too. “I heard you lost your voice. I’m sorry I didn’t protect you very well. I…” Julius begins but Mil places his finger on his lip’s to silence him. Mil takes the note pad and writes then hands it to Julius. “No, it’s not ok. I promised I’d protect you and I failed. And what sucks more is you just got out of the hospital that day and you end up right back in it.” He says but Mil shakes his head and writes on the note pad. Julius looks at it and smiles. “It’s all right. I’m just happy you’re safe and I promise I’ll protect you even better then before. Because you’re my little princess and I’m your knight.”
Mil blushes and lowers his head but Julius places his hand on Mil’s face and lifts it up to his eye level. Julius opens his mouth to say something but someone walks in.
“Well Julius, it seems you finally found yourself a cutie.”
“Janice, what the hell are you doing here?” Julius snaps.
“Dad came and got me. Thought it would be nice to visit my mother. I also heard you got yourself hurt protecting someone.” Janice says and looks at Mil. “And I don’t blame you, he’s quite the cutie.” Janice says making his brother growl. Janice walks up to Mil and extends his hand. “My name’s Janice. What’s yours?” He asks but Mil doesn’t reply. “Don’t worry I don’t bite.”
“He can’t talk, he was stabbed in the throat.” Julius tells him.
“My, my. It seems like you need someone to protect you better. Maybe I could do something.” Janice says flirtatiously.
“Back off! He doesn’t need your protection.” Julius retorts.
“Well you’re not doing a great job it seems.” Janice says snobbishly.
“Janice, why did you run off like that?” Cindy says and then looks at Julius annoyedly. “I see you finally stopped playing possum.” She says as Julius rubs the back of his head and snickers. Cindy sighs and looks at her oldest. “Do you want to get up now or are you planning on sleeping some more?”
“Nah. I got my wish.” He says. Julius shifts his position and steps off the bed with the help of Cindy who then smacks him on the head. “What was that for!?” Julius whines holding his head.
“For the piece of equipment you broke and I had to pay for.”
“I can work to pay it off, so you don’t have to hit me.”
“You’re going to, once you heal up more.” Cindy tells him.
“Whatever.” Julius grumbles.
“Good.” Cindy says and begins to walk out. She stops and turns to them. “So you two want to go see everyone? They’re on their way right now.” She says. Mil nods his head and looks at Julius who is glaring at Janice. “Julius?”
“Yeah I guess. Got nothing better to do.” He says.
Cindy walks to the waiting room with Mil, Julius, and Janice in toe. Mil looks around the room expectantly.
“Kira and the others aren’t here yet.” Randy tells him.
Mil laughs and acts excited.
“Oh I see how it is you little brat. I guess we’ll need to return the card, candy, and flowers then.”
Mil turns and sees Kira and Hyde standing at the entrance of the lounge while Ron, Sophia, Elijah, Shylah, Brooklyn, and D are behind them covered in bruises. Mil spots one of the boxes of candy in Brooklyn’s arms and snatches it away with the look of “Mine.”
“Fat ass.” Kira grumbles.
Mil glares at her but Randy takes the candy from him.
“No snacks for you. You’re still grounded and this will make you sick.”
Mil groans as Kira laughs at him. Randy and Cindy look at the six standing in the back.
“What happened to you guys?” Cindy asks.
Kira grins evilly as five of them glare at her. Hyde rubs the back of his head but stops when he pulls a shard of glass from his hair.
Randy raises an eyebrow and gets a confounded look on his face. “Let me guess, they shattered your window?”
“Yeah.”
“I told you to get that thing removed, didn’t I?” He says but Kira just groans.
D grabs Hyde’s arm and drags him over toward Mil, Julius, and Janice while giggling. She hands a card and stuffed bear to one of the red haired boys and smiles. “Julius right? These are for you.” D says and kisses his forehead, causing him to blush.
“Are you retarded bitch!? I’m over here!”
D looks over at the real Julius then at the boy in front of her and back to Julius. “Oh my god there are two foxies!?” She says flinching back.
Cindy puts her hand on the boy in front of D and smiles. “Oh this is Janice, my other son. He just arrived here not to long ago.”
“Aw they are so cute.” Sophia squeals.
“They look so much alike.” Shylah says.
Julius and Janice exchange glares as the two women fawn over them and play with their fox ears.
D turns to Mil and gives him an apologetic look. “Hey kiddo, sorry I wasn’t able to get there in time to help you out. But don’t worry, I promise it won’t happen again.” She says and then remembers something. “Oh and here are your card and flowers from me and Hyde.”
D takes them from Hyde and hands them to Mil. He smiles at her and hands them to Randy to hold. Mil takes out his notepad, writes down something, and then turns his attention to Hyde.
Mil tugs on his shirt making him look down. “What’s wrong?” He asks and Mil hands him the note pad. “You’re welcome. It seems I got there in the nick of time those nights, huh?” Hyde says making Mil smile and give him a big hug.
“For what?” Elijah asks.
“Well there’s the time you guys tried killing him. Then the night he was attacked by one of those SERAPH things. It chased him into a mall and I rescued him.” Hyde says while beginning to fidget in the teens death grip.
Julius smacks Shylah’s hand away and gives him an odd look. “Oh so you were the weirdo in the clown costume?”
“Yeah.” Hyde groans while trying to remove Mil from his hip.
Inside a Conference room, Juddecca and three other people sit at a circular table discussing important matters. One is an older human man, with dark brown hair and a beard, wearing a formal military style outfit, with medals embellishing the jacket. The other two are female. One is an android with short blonde hair, wearing puffy white dress pants, and a military style coat. The other, an elf with long purple hair in a braid, wears a black skirt with a military style coat like the others.
“It’s been awhile since we’ve seen each other like this without the worry of being assassinated.” The Elf says.
“She’s right, and I hope nothing like that will happen again.” Juddecca says.
“There’s no need to worry. All the rebels have been arrested or gave up their stupid cause.” The Android says.
“Well then on to the new matter of business.” The Human says and looks to Juddecca. “I heard that you accepted our offer finally.”
“That is correct. To say the least I was hesitant to join without even seeing what this weapon was but what Natasha said just sounded like a good idea. So I convinced the council to go along with it.”
“Natasha is a very bright and determined young woman. That’s why I chose her to be our representative.” The Elf woman says.
“She also seemed to take a liking to my son Wolfe.” The Canine says.
“If that’s true I don’t think Cindy will take to kindly to her.” The Human replies stroking his beard.
“Speaking of her, how is she Adolph?” The Android asks the human male.
“I haven’t talked to her in a couple of weeks but the last I knew she was doing all right. What about your daughter Cassandra? Has she found her child yet?”
“Nova’s fine, but she still hasn’t found her son.” The blonde android replies.
“I don’t understand why Gideon didn’t tell us where he put him.” The Elf says sadly.
“I’m sure he had his reasons, but you shouldn’t let it get to you Moira.”
“I heard your grandchildren are quite the handfuls.” Cassandra says to Juddecca and Adolph.
“I wouldn’t know, I’ve never seen them.” Adolph says with a hint of annoyance.
“I know. But I assure you, you will soon. Julius followed Natasha and is on earth with Cindy, and Wolfe just brought Janice down.”
“Excuse me your excellencies?” A female voice interrupts.
They look over to see Natasha standing there with a disgruntled look.
“Natasha when did you arrive? Moira asks.
“Just a bit ago.”
“How’s Cindy and that young girl she’s so found of doing?”
“Quite well. But I had D brought from the lab by one of my subordinates. He has her taking care of a child named Mil.”
“What for?” Moira asks her.
“It seems someone has mistaken him for a threat and sent assassins to try and kill him.”
“How horrible.” Cassandra says.
Natasha groans and takes out a folder laying it on the table. “Yes, well anyway. Here are the pictures of a new weapon that is being tested.”
Each of them takes out a picture and get disturbed looks on their faces. The pictures show the SERAPH in many stages of construction and even show their faces.
“Wait, are these young girls they’re having put these suits on?” Adolph asks concernedly.
“No. It’s one android but in different forms. They were designed after one of the legendary angels.” Natasha tells them. “We have the males being planned out as we speak.
Moira covers her mouth in horror at the sight of the one picture she’s holding. “It’s unbelievable what they have them do.” She says seeing a SERAPH standing over an unrecognizable bloody mass.
“Yes and right know they are hunting and trying to kill a creature called the Gate Keeper. But unfortunately two of them were destroyed.” Natasha says.
“Gate keeper? Where have I heard that before?” Moira thinks to herself.
Juddecca sighs deeply and sets down the picture, placing his chin on his hands. Adolph looks to his ally with concern.
“Are you having second thoughts Juddecca?” Adolph asks him lowly so Natasha cannot over hear.
“I just don’t know how this will better the relationship between our worlds. They’re building tools of war to harm people. It’s only a matter of time before they turn it on one of us and another war starts.” Juddecca whispers to him.
“I agree. Something like this happened almost 300 years ago and it caused a war between our ancestors.” Cassandra tells them.
“Don’t worry.” Natasha says making the three slightly gasp. “My colleagues and I give you our utmost promise that we won’t turn on any of you. Besides it wouldn’t be right to cause more conflict between you four, especially since some of you share grandchildren.”
The four adults look at each other with warm smiles as Natasha turns away from them and grins deviously. At Lazuli, a day has passed and the two children are home from the hospital. Mil and Julius are sitting at the bar while Randy, Cindy, Kira, and Wolfe have taken a seat in front of them and are lecturing them about the stupid things they did.
“That was stupid what the two of you did that night! Do you understand you could have been killed!?” Randy snaps and then points a finger at Mil. “Especially what you did young man. Tristen told you to stay in the booth with him and Julius, but you had to go and play hero. Now look at you, you can’t speak.”
“Yeah and you’re lucky I can’t or I’ll be yelling right back at you.” Mil thinks to himself.
“Don’t yell at him it’s not his fault. He wanted to help.” Julius yells.
“Julius shut the hell up, it’s your turn next.” Wolfe snaps making Julius groan and fold his arms.
Randy clears his throat and continues. “Also Mil I’m placing you under house arrest because you can’t be trusted alone outside anymore. You can only go out if me or Kira is with you.”
Mil gives him a look of protest but Kira takes out a bag containing the pills he took that night. Mil looks away.
“I just don’t know what to do with you anymore. Do you want to go into rehab with the rest of the drug addicts? Cause you’re this far away from going there.” Randy says and shows the amount with his fingers. Mil looks down and whines as Randy sighs and rubs his eyes. He looks at Cindy. “I’m done.”
Cindy nods and looks at her son. “First thing, it was wrong of you to run away from home. Even if you don’t like it there, you should have at least told someone. Next is your behavior towards Mil. Don’t touch him if he doesn’t want you to. And they way you do is inappropriate for your age. So the two of you won’t see each other for ... ”
“WHAT!? You can’t do that!” Julius interrupts.
“Don’t talk back to your mother.” Wolfe growls. “Bad enough you do it to me.”
“Piss off.” Julius retorts.
“JULIUS!” Cindy yells and gets a sad look from her son. “Enough. It’s only until Mil feels better. Finally the way you acted that night was inexcusable. The second you now something is wrong, try to find one of us. Don’t try and handle it on your own.”
“Fuck this shit!” Julius snaps and knocks his chair while beginning to leave in anger.
Cindy groans walks after him “Julius.” She says making him turn to her. Cindy reels back and slaps him across the face. Julius looks up at his mother with unshed tears forming in his eyes. “Now stop acting like a spoiled brat!” She says and places her hands on his shoulders. “Julius, I don’t want to get off on a bad foot with you but you have to try and keep your anger under control.”
“I…I’m sorry mom.” Julius whimpers trying to fight back tears. Mil walks up to him and takes hold of his hand wipes the tears from his eyes. “Mil?”
Mil hands Cindy the note pad. “I don’t know about that but let me ask.” Cindy says.
“What does he want?” Kira asks her.
“He wants to spend the day with Julius before they have to go on house arrest.”
“Wait I thought he complained about how Julius acts towards him? Why does he want to spend the day with him?” Kira wonders out loud.
“That’s not a bad idea.” Randy says. “All right the two of you can spend the day together. But you have to stay in LAZULI. Got it?”
Mil and Julius both nod their head.
“Now Julius, don’t do anything to upset Mil. All right?” Cindy asks.
“Don’t worry I won’t do anything he doesn’t want me to do.” Julius grins and the two teens leave..
“What the hell!? Are you retarded or something!? You know what kind of trouble they could get into and you let them go!” Wolfe snaps and hits a table.
“I agree. They could run off or worse.” Kira says
Randy takes out his cell phone and grins. “Don’t worry. I have someone to keep tabs on them.”
Cindy, Wolfe, and Kira give him odd looks. Mil and Julius walk down a long hallway getting closer and closer to kids talking loudly and other noises. .
Julius raises an eyebrow and looks to Mil. “So Mil, what fun do you have for us?” He asks but stops when they turn a corner and end up in the GAME ROOM. Julius takes a step forward in awe. “Wow. This place is huge.” He says and looks at Mil. “What do you wanna play first?” He asks. Mil grabs hold of his hand and leads him over to a shooting game. “So we get to spend the last day of our freedom together killing zombies. Sounds like fun.” He says and picks up another gun.
Mil picks up the other gun and presses the button to begin the game. He looks at Julius and gives him a playful smile. Julius looks at him then back at the screen blushing. “He is kind of cute.” Mil thinks to himself.
The screen uploads showing an abandoned warehouse. A zombie pops out from behind a container and the two unload on it. Mil quickly loads his gun and continues shooting while Julius struggles with his.
“You’ve played this before haven’t you?” Julius asks.
Mil smiles and nods his head. The two continue for another couple of minutes before switching over to a new level. More zombies pop up and the two take them down quickly. As more pop up a couple weird spider creatures crawl across the ceilings along with some flying bats.
Julius growls while trying to reload. “Oh come on! What the hell are those things!?” Julius’ side of the screen gets splattered in blood and turns black. Mil stops shooting and lets his character die as well. “Damn that was lame.”
Mil laughs at him while they hang up their guns. “What an idiot.” Mil giggles to himself. He grabs Julius’ hand and drags him over to a new game.
Julius’ fox ears perk up and he looks behind him but nothing is out of the ordinary. “Why did it sound like someone called me a loser?” Julius thinks to himself.
They eventually come to an empty air hockey table. Mil starts the game up and hands Julius the paddle to hit the puck with. He walks to the other end and puts the puck in the middle before looking up at Julius with a questioning look.
“What’s wrong? Oh are you wondering if I played this before?” He asks and Mil nods. “A little. Hey lets make a bet. If you win you get to whatever you want and if I win I get to do whatever I want. How’s that sound?”
Mil thinks for a bit then agrees with an evil glint in his eyes. Julius goes to hit the puck but Mil gets it first and sends it into Julius’ goal. Julius looks at Mil and groans as Mil laughs girlishly. Julius takes out the puck and lays it on the table. He hits across to Mil’s side but Mil hits it right back. This is continued for five minutes until Julius manages to score. Julius gives Mil a playful smile which is received with a low growl. The contest then turns into an all out war, each not scoring at all. As the clock gets down to one minute, Mil hits it towards Julius but he stops it and sends it back flying. Mil tries to stop it but misses. Julius cheers as the puck goes into the goal but miraculously it stops right before falling in. Julius looks stunned at this which Mil takes as an opening and shoots it back. The puck goes in and brings Mil ahead by one. Julius quickly takes the puck out and sends it back over. The two continue hitting it back and forth until the buzzer goes off.
“Damn it!” Julius yells and throws the paddle down. Mil writes on the notebook and shows it to him. “Yeah you won. So what is it you want to do?” He grumbles.
“Hmm?” Mil thinks for a bit then writes on the pad.
“A movie of your choice? That sounds fine. You want to go now or play some more?”
Mil grabs Julius’ hand and leads him to another game. Upstairs in Wolfe’s room, Janice is laying on the couch with his head pillowed on the arm of the couch and his arms across his chest. Someone enters the room making him sit up to look.
“Hello mother.” He says with a smile.
“Hi. I just wanted to see if you would like to go get lunch with me.” Cindy says.
“Is father and Julius going?”
“No, It’s just us. Your father wants to relax today and Julius is spending the day with his friend.”
“Oh the cutie with the different colored eyes?” Janice asks with a grin.
“You mean Mil.”
“Is that his name? That’s very pretty.”
“Oh no, I can see a fight coming from this.” She thinks to herself.
“Well I guess I can go out.,I have a lot of things I want to talk about with you.”
“Great cause I have some for you too. Ready?”
Janice nods and begins to walk out with her. “Hey do you think we can visit Julius and Mil then?”
“Why, are you concerned about your brother? From what Wolfe said I thought you hated each other?”
“Yeah but I want to get to know Mil. See what kind of person he is and why he’s hanging out with my loser brother.”
“Janice that’s not nice to say, he’s your twin brother.”
“Well mother, you should know Julius isn’t very popular with people back home.” Janice informs her.
“Oh and you are?” Cindy says raising an eyebrow.
“Yup, I’ve had quite a few girlfriends and I have a lot of friends too.”
“Do you have a girlfriend now?” Cindy asks, stepping into the elevator.
“No, I want to explore my options a bit more.
“Oh, like what? Cindy asks.
The elevator stops and opens. Mil and Julius start to enter but then Julius stops and glares at his brother who is giving Mil a sly grin.
“What are you two doing?” Cindy says.
“We’re going to watch a movie in Mil’s room. What about you?” Julius asks still giving his brother a death stare.
“We’re going to lunch.” He says and looks at Mil. “Would you like to come with us?”
“No he’s spending the day with me.” Julius snarls.
“My you’re quite controlling. Are you sure he even wants to watch a movie with you?” Janice says snidely.
“He’s the one who suggested it you ass.” Julius retorts.
Cindy groans. “Now, now boys. I want you to be nice to each other, k?”
“Whatever.” The fox twins bellow.
Mil giggles while Cindy shakes her head and sighs.
Janice gives Mil a flirtatious smile raising a blush from him and exits the elevator with Cindy. He then turns to face them. “Well Mil I hope to talk to you eventually. I think we could be good friends.”
Julius flips him off and the elevator door shuts. “See I told you he’s an asshole.”
Mil writes on the note pad and hands it to him.
“What the hell do you mean he seems nice!? He’s not nice at all! He’s just being like that to piss me off. You shouldn’t fall for his fake charm.”
Mil writes on the pad again.
“Jealous? You think I’m jealous? Why the hell do you think that? Because I don’t want you to go through the same shit his friends back home do? That’s why I don’t want him near you Mil.”
He writes again.
“Would you stop-” Julius snatches the note pad. “writing on that stupid fucking notepad? God it’s annoying.” He says and throws it across the elevator. Julius folds his arms and leans against the back of the elevator. Mil begins to whimpers. Julius looks at him and begins to regret what he did. He walks over to him and wraps his arms around him. “I’m sorry. I just got a little angry.” He says softy and gets a stupid look from Mil. “Ok I got very angry. But I don’t want to see you get hurt worse then you already have.”
Mil looks up at him and smiles. Julius gives him one back and wipes the tears from Mil’s eyes. The two move closer and hug each other tighter.
“My you two are way better then a soap opera.” A male voice chortles.
The two go wide eyed and look over at the grinning white haired man standing in the corner. Julius immediately stands in front of Mil like some guard dog and bares his teeth.
“How the hell did you get in here?”
Hyde smiles and shows them a bracelet on his wrist. “Cloaking device. Randy made me keep an eye on you two.”
“Well you scared the shit out of us.” Julius growls.
“I apologize. I just wanted to stop whatever was going to happen there for a sec.” He chuckles. Mil turns bright red and shakes his and waives his hands in front of him. “Is that a no Mil?”
“It didn’t seem like that.” A female voice says.
Julius and Mil shift to the other side of the elevator as D grins and shows her bracelet.
“Stop that, damn it! Your gonna give us a heart attack.” Julius grumbles.
“Yeah well, it’s better then the two of you getting your freak on in the elevator.” D giggles.
Julius gets embarrassed and looks away. “We wouldn’t do it in an elevator!” He says as the elevator stops and opens. “You people are weirdos.” Julius says and walks out.
Mil looks at Hyde and D and gives them a warm smile before exiting.
“How cute. But do you really believe they would have gone at in the elevator?” D says.
“You never now. Teenage hormones are very mysterious things.” Hyde says as Mil walks back in. He gives the boy a questioning look. “What’s wrong?”
Mil grabs their hands and drags them along.
“He wants you two to come watch the movie with us.” Julius says annoyedly.
“Jeez that’s surprising. I thought you two would have wanted to be alone.” D says.
“Well since the two of you are going to spy on us anyway we thought it’d be better if you just came with us.”
“He has a point.” Hyde says.
“So what movie is it?” D asks.
“I don’t know the name but it’s about the sorceresses Fayette and Elizabeth.” Julius says.
Hyde goes wide eyed and looks down. “Oh no.” He thinks to himself.
“What’s wrong?” D asks him.
“Nothing...” He says and looks down.
Across town, at a nice little deli, Cindy and Janice are having lunch together.
“So Janice. How is school going for you?” She asks her son.
“Very well. I’m in the honor program.”
“I’m so proud of you Janice.”
“Yeah well. I guess I inherited my smartness from you.”
“Oh stop.” Cindy says and smiles.
“So mother, how long have you known Mil?”
“You seem to be quite infatuated with him.”
“There’s just something about him that I like. Is there anything wrong with that?” Janice says.
“No, I just don’t want you and your brother to start a competition for Mil’s affection.”
“Oh mother, there isn’t going to be any competition. I’m way better then Julius.”
Cindy groans and gives him an odd look. “I hope you’re not referring to sex.”
“The kids back home aren’t interested in him enough to want to date him let alone have sex with him.” Janice tells her.
“Have you?”
“Now what kind of question is that to ask your teenage son?”
“Exactly, you’re a teenager.” Cindy says.
Janice sighs. “Yes, I hate to admit it to you but I have. Girls mind you, this guy thing is sort of new.”
Cindy shakes her head. “You’re just like your father.”
The waitress comes and sets down their food. “Will that be everything, Ma’am?”
“Yes thank you.” Cindy says and takes a sip of her soda.
“Do you hate my father?” Janice asks.
“I…no I don’t hate him. I just don’t like the way he acts. It’s childish and cold hearted.”
“He doesn’t act like that around me.” Janice says and smiles. “Maybe its just people he doesn’t like.”
“Well then I guess you’re the only person he likes.” She says.
“No he liked that elf lady.”
“Natasha?” Cindy says and takes a bite out of her sandwich.
“Yeah her. Julius caught them having sex and told the Council of Elders.” Janice says and Cindy chokes a bit. Janice looks at her amusedly and chuckles. “Does that bother you mother, that he’s been with other women?”
“No, because I know he’s been with a lot of woman, even before me. What bothers me is the fact that he doesn’t have the decency to lock a door.” Cindy grumbles.
“No, Julius should have knocked first, that and kept his mouth shut. That’s what father said.”
“What did your father do to him for that?”
“Disciplined him then locked him in his room. That’s when Julius took off to come here.”
“Does he hit the two of you a lot?”
“I don’t get hit very often, but Julius does. It’s because he’s bad.”
Cindy sighs and looks out the window as Janice goes to take a bite out of his sandwich. “He’s not bad. Well maybe a little. But that’s just how some boy’s act. Your father was a horrid little kid. He was always fighting with people. I don’t know how many times my brother and Randy kicked his ass.” Cindy says.
“See he turned out fine.” Janice grumbles and takes a bite. “That’s why father is so hard on him. Because he said that it will turn him into a strong person.”
“But he gets a little too hard on him sometimes.”
“Can we please talk about something else besides Julius?” Janice says raising his tone slightly.
Cindy looks at him out of the corner of her eye then back to the window. “I see he turned out a little like Wolfe too.” Cindy thinks to herself.
You still haven’t answered my question.” Janice says.
“Hmm?”
“About Mil.”
“Oh that’s right. I knew him since he was about three. I came to visit Randy and he introduced me to him.” Cindy tells him.
“So he was adopted?”
“Yeah you could say that. Randy is one of his godfathers and Mil’s parents were not capable of taking care of him so Randy took him.”
“Are his parents dead?” Janice asks.
“His mother isn’t but his father is.”
“Then why isn’t his mother taking care of him?”
“His mother doesn’t know where he is.”
“Then why don’t you tell her?”
“Janice just drop the subject. It’s complicated to explain.” Cindy says,
Janice sighs and continues to eat his sandwich. Back at Mil’s room, three hours have gone by and the movie has finally ended. D and Julius talk back and forth while Mil attempts to write fast enough to be part of the conversation. Hyde, who spent most of the movie grumbling, sits in a chair looking uncomfortably at a wall.
“You didn’t seem too interested in that movie.” Julius says to the grumpy white haired male.
“Of course not, it was inaccurate. Some of the things they had in it didn’t even happen. Even some of the names weren’t the same.”
“Jeez mister historian. Who would have thought you would get so offended over a stupid movie. It was made like what, 40 years ago? Of course they wouldn’t have accurate events. They just discovered new records not too long ago.” D snaps at him.
“By the way Mil, is that where you got the name for your job at ZEPHYR?” Julius asks his friend.
Mil nods his head and smiles.
“That’s right. You told me to ask for Fayette. And the one girl in the movie was named that.” D remembers. Mil writes on the notepad and hands it to her. “She’s your favorite character and this is your favorite movie?” She reads aloud and smiles. “Well it’s good to some people like classic movies and doesn’t care if they’re accurate.”
” I just think if they’re going to call it a true story then it should be true.”
“Oh whatever.” D says, brushing him off.
“So what part did you like D?” Julius asks.
“It had to of been when Sonya summoned those demon creatures to fight Palmer. She kicked ass.” D says excitedly.
Hyde groans. “Their names weren’t Sonya and Palmer, it was Sanja and Panzer. And Blaine was actually Blitz. Also those things Sanja summoned were spirits, not demons, and she didn’t kill Panzer because none of them actually died. Fayette had them hidden in three secret locations and have yet to be discovered. Also Elizabeth’s child was never born, it died during birth, it was Fayette’s child that lived. And another thing....” He says but notices D and Julius are ignoring him. “Are you two even listening to me?”
“Palmer was a real douche bag. The way he was always molesting Fayette and torturing Blaine.” Julius says. “I also wish Palmer didn’t have to kill Rei. He was so cool. And it would have been nice for him and Fayette to have gotten back together or seen each other one last time before they died.”
“Yeah but it was cool though how Sonya blew him up with that fire demon. But it was sad to see her brother Blaine kill her like that. Man, big brothers can be assholes. I’m glad I don’t have any.” D says and glares at Hyde who is complaining again.
“Blitz did not kill her! None of them died! And for the last time, get their names right!” He yells and once again Julius and D ignore his little tirade and talk amongst themselves. “God this is hurting my head.” He grumbles. Mil writes on his note pad and hands it to Hyde. “Yeah I know a lot about it.” Hyde says as Mil writes on the pad again. “Sure, I’ll teach you.” He says and smiles. Mil gets excited, jumping onto his lap and hugging him. Mil rights on the notepad again. “It’s great to finally meet someone who’s as into it as I am.” Hyde reads aloud and then smiles. “Well it’s a very important part of history. But unfortunately that movie done it no justice.” Hyde says. Mil exaggerates a gasp and glares at Hyde while giving him a smack with the notepad. Hyde growls and grabs the notepad. “Knock it off you brat. I saved your ass today during that game so you could be nicer to me.”
Julius stops talking and directs a glare at the older male. “Wait. You stopped the puck!?”
“Yeah he did. I tried to stop him but he pushed me away. Mean bastard.” D grumbles.
“I heard what you said under your breath and there was no way I was gonna let that happen.”
Mil gives Hyde a questioning look. He leans forward and whispers into Mil’s ear. Mil turns red and then looks at Julius crossly.
“It’s not what you think Mil.” He says and glares at Hyde. “I am so gonna kill you for this.” He mouths to him but Mil throws the notepad at him. “Stop I’m sorry. I wasn’t really going to do that. I promised I wouldn’t upset you and it was just a stupid thing I said.”
Mil puts his hands on his hip and looks away.
“Aww. How cute. A lovers quarrel.” D giggles.
Julius turns red and gets embarrassed. “No it’s not like that.”
Mil turns red and shakes his head no as D and Hyde laugh at them. Then Hyde’s cell phone rings. He looks at the number and gets a serious expression.
“I’ll be right back.” He says and gets up.
“What, is it your boyfriend?” D giggles. “You big stud you.”
“Shut the hell up and stay here until I get back.” Hyde grumbles as he walks towards the door and exits.
Mil turns to Julius and glares but then sighs and writes on the notepad before handing it to him.
Julius looks at the note and then to Mil. “Yeah a little. You want me to help?”
Mil nods his head and looks at D.
“Huh?” The older teen says.
“He wants to know if you want something to eat.” Julius tells her.
”Nah I’m fine, you two go have a nice lunch. I’m gonna go see what the dick is up to.” D says and walks over to them. She places her hand on their heads and smiles. “I look forward to all the fun shit we’ll be doing together when the two of you get off grounding.”
“Wait your watching me too?” Julius asks.
“Yeah, Cindy thought it would be good for me to watch you and your brother along with Mil.” She says making Julius groan and Mil smile. “All right you two behave yourselves. Julius don’t be a dirty foxy and Mil don’t beat him up too much. You two just got out of the hospital and don’t need to be going back anytime soon.”
Both boys nod their heads. D pats them on the head and walks out. She sees Hyde near the elevator immersed in his discussion so she sneaks up and listens to him.
“Yeah the target is still alive…Yes I know….What? You mean she’ll be ready that soon? Thank god.” A deeper voice says with a sigh.
“What the hell is he talking about? And what’s wrong with his voice?” D thinks to herself.
“No I’m just getting sick playing double agent between you and these stupid humans. I just don’t understand why we can’t kill the others and take the boy.” The voice grumbles making D gasp. Hyde looks back reviling his now his dark crimson and more cold looking eyes. He scans the hallway but nothings there. A person yells on the other end making him scoff and roll his eyes. “Ok, ok, stop yelling. Bye.” Hyde hangs up and walks back towards Mil’s room.
Inside the kitchen, a panicky D shuts off her cloaking device and breaths heavily. Mil and Julius look over at her with confusion. “If he asks I’ve been in here helping you two the whole time.”
They look at each other then back at her. “Tell who?” Julius asks.
The door opens and Hyde walks in and looks into the kitchen to see Mil, Julius, and D looking back at him. His eyes are back to normal but a weird nuance fills the room. Hyde gives them a polite smile. “Sorry but I need to be leaving. D, you ready?”
She looks at him and gives him an uneasy smile. “Yeah.” She says and looks at the younger teens. “Bye kids. I wish I could have stayed longer.” She walks out.
Hyde smiles at them and then leaves as well.
Julius looks at Mil with worry. “Something’s not right.”
Mil nods his head and looks towards the door with concern. D and Hyde walk down the hall and then into the elevator. They don’t say anything for a bit, but then D looks over at him and gives an uneasy smile.
“They really are sweet little kids don’t ya…”
Before she can finish Hyde slams her against the side of the elevator, holding her by her throat. He places one of the blades extending from his hand close to her left temple and grins. She looks up to see his eyes change color from a kind pinkish to a demonic red.
“You tell anyone what you heard and I’ll cut your head off along with the rest of them.” A cold voice snarls.
“What the fuck is wrong with you? Are you fucking psycho or something?” She says as she lifts her feet up. D then proceeds to kick him with her full force. “GET OFF!” She says as Hyde falls back, holding his chest, and gasping for air. “I don’t know what your plan is dude but if your going to harm those boys then…” She begins. The white haired man looks up at her and sees that her eyes have changed to a deep crimson, just like his. “I’ll just have to kill you.”
“Now why would I want to do that? After all the trouble I went through protecting Mil you’d think I’d really want to kill him?” The man says with a chuckle.
“Then what the hell are you planning on doing with them?” D asks him.
“You’ll know eventually.”
“No you’ll tell me now!” She snaps as the elevator door opens. Hyde begins to walk out making the teen growl. “Hey don’t you dare ignore me!” She says and runs at him.
Hyde quickly turns and smacks her in the throat making her drop in a slump. “Sorry but I can’t have you blowing my cover just yet.” He says while dragging her into their room and then throws her onto the bed. He rolls her onto her stomach and moves her hair away from the back of her neck. He grabs a small box out from the dresser drawer and opens it taking a long cord with a weird plug on each end out. He sticks one into the back of his neck and then puts the other end into a small hole in hers. “So I’ll just erase what you know.” He says and turns her onto her side before caressing her face. “My precious little Sanja. Soon we will be reunited with our queen and you, me, and our brother will all serve her like we should have along time ago.” The cold voice says softly and then begins to chuckle.
Kira and her gang are at the bar doing what they do best, getting trashed and abusing each other.
“So what did you guy’s do to them?” Ron asks Kira.
“Not what I expected them to. I mean yeah they were grounded, also Mil can’t leave the building without supervision, and that fox kid got slapped for talking back but their letting them spend the day together. God if it was my decision I one of kicked both their asses, put Mil in rehab, and stuck that other kid in juvie. But just because Randy has a thing for that chick, he let the two of them off easily.”
“So they really let the two of them go off on their own?” Shylah asks.
“Well not exactly. He’s having Yuri and D keep an eye on them.” Kira tells them.
“Those weirdos?” Ron bellows.
“That girl isn’t that weird.” Elijah says.
“You just say that cause you wanna bang her.” Ron laughs.
Elijah turns red and looks away. “That’s not true.”
“Then why the hell are you turning red?” Kira teases.
“That’s not true Elijah doesn’t like her.” Shylah says and looks at him with puppy dog eyes. “Right?”
“Uhhhh….”
“T here is something strange about them.” The smallest of the group pipes up.
“See Brooklyn thinks so.” Ron says.
“Not how they act…I just get different vibes from them.”
“How so?” Kira asks him.
“The girl, her aura is always bright yellow. Which means joy or happy. But the man...his changes drastically. One time it’s white, pure and good, then it goes to black, vulgar and evil. What does this mean?”
“I don’t know. Maybe he has split personalities?” Shylah says.
Ron pinches Brooklyn’s cheek childishly. “Don’t worry Brook. We’ll protect you from that mean old clown.” He chuckles and gets bitch slapped by Kira from across the table. “What the hell did you do that for?” Ron says holding his cheek in pain.
“Shut up.” Kira says through clenched teeth.
Hyde walks over giving them odd looks before stopping in front of Brooklyn. The pale man turns slightly red and fidgets. “Hi, umm, this is kind of odd but would you mind if I asked Brooklyn for a favor.”
“Sure, but we charge five dollars per hour and you have to supply your own toys and oils.” Kira snorts.
Hyde blushes embarrassedly. “No that’s not what I meant.”
Kira laughs. “I know, I’m just busting on your ass. But go ahead and ask him.”
“Umm...well I remember him saying he’s good with computers. The problem is D was playing on mine and did something to it. So I was wondering if he could look at it for me. I’ll even pay him for it.”
Kira looks at Brooklyn who is staring at the table. “Well kitten what do you say?”
Brooklyn fidgets a bit and then nods. “…Ok. I’ll check it.” He says and gets up.
“You don’t have to look at it right know. You can do it later.” Hyde tells him.
“No...I’ll do it now.”
Hyde sighs. “All right. I’ll take you to my room.”
Brooklyn crawls over the back of the seat and onto the ground, with help from Hyde, and the two leave. The rest of the group looks over with different feelings.
“Was it ok to let him go like that? I mean even after what he said about him?” Elijah asks the leader of the group.
“Well Brooklyn is a masochist, but I don’t think Yuri would do anything bad to him.”
The other four look to each other with mixed feelings. Up at Mil’s room, the purple haired teen is showing Julius his photo albums.
“Wow, you were quite the cutie when you were little.” He says making Mil blush. Julius looks over at him and smiles. “But I think you’re way cuter now.” Julius flirts as Mil buries his face in his hands and turns a deeper red. Julius giggles and moves Mil’s hands from his face. “Mil, thank you for being my friend. I don’t have any back home and well…”
Just then there’s a knock on the door. Mil gets up when he opens it, he sees Janice on the other side.
“Hello Mil.” He says and then glares at his brother. “Julius.”
“What do you want?
“Like I said earlier, I want to get to know you Mil. Cause if your friends with my brother then I’m sure we can be friends too.”
“Go away. We’re still spending time together.” Julius says.
“That’s not what mother said, she wants you to go see her in our room.”
Julius growls but complies. “Fine.” He says and sighs. “Well it was fun hanging out with you. I hope you get better real soon so we can do more stuff like that.” Julius says with a sigh.
Mil nods his head and gives Julius a big hug which he returns. They let go and Julius begins to exit. He turns to Janice who is still standing in the doorway, grabs his sleeve and pulls him with him.
“Bye Mil. It’s to bad I couldn’t stay and talk more with you.” Janice says with a smile.
Julius drags him into the elevator and they leave. Mil stands in the hall looking in their direction and giggles. Just then the phone rings. Mil walks back in and looks at the name and number. He can’t answer it and so he just lets the answering machine get it.
“Sorry. I’m not home right now so leave your name and number and I’ll get back as soon as possible.” The answering machine says and then the tone beeps.
“Mil you ass! I can’t believe you danced with someone else. Elena told me everything. I’m so not going out with you now.” A snobby female voice yells.
She hangs up and the tone beeps again. Mil hits a button on the machine and deletes the message with a smile plastered on his face.
“Maybe it was for the best.” He thinks to himself.
“That didn’t sound to well.” A male voice says with a chuckle. Mil squeaks and turns around seeing Randy standing in the door way. Mil points a finger at him angrily but Randy laughs and shakes his head. “Well I’m glad it’s off between you two. I didn’t like her that much anyway. Or are you upset?” He asks and Mil shakes his head no. “That’s good.” He says and remembers something. “Oh yeah, here.” He reaches into his pocket and takes out a prescription bottle and hands it to Mil. “Cindy gave this to me to give to you. Said it’ll help with your throat. I’m trusting you not to over do it though.”
Mil nods his head and smiles. Over at Wolfe’s room, Cindy waits with her ex for the boys to return. Julius and Janice come in through the door and Cindy smiles at them.
“So how did it go? You weren’t mean to Mil, were you?” She asks her oldest while walking out of the kitchen.
“It was going good, and no I wasn’t mean to him.”
“Good.”
“So what do you want to talk about?” Julius asks.
“Well I just wanted to let you know that starting tomorrow Mr. Hyde will be watching you on my long days and when I have half days you’ll be working with me to pay for that IV machine you broke.”
Julius gets a confused look on his face and raises an eyebrow. “Who the hell is Mr. Hyde?”
“The man with the white hair, Yuri.” Cindy tells him.
“Oh the clown weirdo?” Julius says and then gets an annoyed look. “Wait a minute, I don’t want him watching me. He seems boring and creepy. And besides I thought D was going to watch me?”
“Well I thought it might be hard for her to watch all three of you so I asked Mr. Hyde to help.” She says making Julius groan. “Oh stop it. He seems pleasant.”
“Well he did something today that scarred the hell out of that girl D.”
“What do you mean?”
“We got done watching a movie and his cell rang and he went to answer it outside. D followed and then came running back in all flustered and told us to act like she was with us all that time. Then he came back in acting all funky.”
“I don’t know. I’ll ask D about it later.”
Wolfe stumbles from the kitchen with a beer and snickers. “Guys probably gay and she found out, but he doesn’t want anyone to know.”
“No if that was it she would be making fun of him. It was more like she saw him kill someone.”
“I doubt it, so just let it go.” She says and kisses both boys on the head. “I’m going back to my room. I’ll see the both of you in the morning before I have to leave.”
“Bye mother. Thank you for lunch again.” Janice says with a smile.
“You’re welcome sweetie.”
Julius gets a pouty look on his face and grabs her arm. “Mom can I stay with you tonight? I promise to behave myself.”
“I’m sorry Julius but there isn’t enough room. Your cousin has the spare.”
“I can sleep on the couch or the floor. Please just let me stay there.” He begs pitifully.
“Well....”
“Julius, knock it off! You’re staying here so shut up!” Wolfe barks.
Julius looks at the floor sadly and pouts as Cindy scowls at the silver haired man.
“Wolfe, don’t so hard on him, he was only asking. And don’t drink to much tonight ok?”
Wolfe stares at her unfazed and takes another swig of beer. Cindy sighs and leaves while Wolfe looks to his sons coldly.
“All right you two get your asses ready for bed.”
“What!? But it isn’t even after seven yet.” Julius says,
“I don’t give a damn. So move!”
Both boys walk to their room and grumble as Wolfe stumbles to the kitchen to get another bottle of beer. At the top floor, Hyde and Brooklyn walk into the older man’s hotel room. And find D sitting at the desk pressing random buttons on the laptop keyboard with a disgruntled look on her face.
“I thought I told you to stay away from that!?” Hyde snaps at her.
“Well I’m just trying to see what’s wrong with it.” She says and notices Brooklyn. “Oh…hi.”
Brooklyn doesn’t say anything but just stares at the wall. D raises an eyebrow and looks curiously at him.
“He’s here to look at the laptop so move.” Hyde tells her.
He grabs the teen by the back of the shirt and lifts her out of the chair but she begins to struggle with him a bit while trying to swipe at his face. Brooklyn looks to them oddly and then goes wide eyed as he has a vision of a young girl and boy with black hair in the same situation.
“Brooklyn?” A soft voice calls out.
Brooklyn snaps back into reality and sees Hyde and D staring at him.
“Are you feeling all right?” Hyde asks.
“...Yeah.”
D smacks Hyde’s hand away and goes to sit on the bed as Brooklyn goes over and sits on the chair that the teen was in before. He tries to turn on the laptop but it just makes a screeching noise. He holds the button down and types on the keyboard with his other hand which makes the screen change into a funky assortment of colors and flashes.
“What the hell?” Are Hyde and D’s reaction.
“The system appears to have crashed.” Brooklyn says and presses a few more buttons. “It…was also thrown against something.”
They all remain silent for a few seconds before Hyde looks back at D and growls.
“What? The damn thing cheated so I threw it.” D says grumpily.
Hyde places his head in his hand and growls. “D …you have to the count of five to get the hell outta my sight before I kill you.”
“Oh that’s a load of shit.” D says.
“One.”
“You wouldn’t dare.”
“Two.”
D puts her hands on her hips. “You’re lying.”
“Three.”
“Now you’re just being stupid.”
“Four.”
D folds her arms and looks away. “I’m not listening.”
“FIVE!” He yells and the door slams shut. Hyde walks over and locks it before he looks back at Brooklyn. “Sorry.” He says while walking back over. “Anything you can do?”
“Reboot it, rehabilitate the screen, and do a manual reprogramming. It will probably take the rest of the night and I also need an adapter.”
“Well I have an adapter. But I don’t want to waste your time fixing my computer if it’s going to be a big hassle.”
“It’s ok.”
Hyde takes out the box he has in the dresser and takes out the cable from before. He looks at Brooklyn with cold red eyes and grins. He walks up behind the smaller man and puts his hands on his shoulders causing him to tense up.
“Are you sure you feel all right?” Hyde asks him.
“He’s probably scared. Stuck in there by himself with you.” A voice snickers from behind the door. Hyde grabs the pencil holder from the desk and chucks it at the door. “Ok ok I’m going.”
“I apologize again.” He says and hands Brooklyn the cord. “Is this correct?”
“...Yeah.” Brooklyn says. Hyde smiles at him and making the younger man fidget and look back at the laptop. Brooklyn puts the one end of the cord into the back of the laptop and then looks at Hyde. “I...can’t be disturbed while I do this.”
“I understand.”
“Sorry.”
Hyde snorts. “Don’t apologize, it’s not your fault. Well thank you again.”
“...Yeah.”
Hyde smiles and walks towards the door but stops looking back as Brooklyn inserts the other end into the back of his neck. He presses a button on the computer causing his head to slump down. Brooklyn lifts his head back up as his eyes turn black and he begins to type quickly as computer lingo scrolls across the screen. Hyde snickers and goes to turn the handle but a sharp pain surges through his head.
“No. Not now. Please not now.” Hyde says to himself. He holds his head and gasps as a black aura slowly surrounds him. “I said stop it!” He says to himself.
Eventually the pain and the black aura stop and Hyde rests his head against the door. He looks back at Brooklyn who is unbeknownst to the situation that has just happened. Hyde sighs and walks out shutting the door behind him.
“What took you so long? Were you giving him his payment?” A young voice chortles.
Hyde sees D sitting down on the floor next to the door giving him a cheeky grin. He growls and tries to smack her but she makes a mad dash for the elevator. The elevator door opens and she begins to run in but crashes into Elijah. Kira, Ron, Shylah, and Sophia all look out to see Hyde looking angrily at D, but he stops when he spots them starring at him and gives them a pleasant smile.
Hyde rubs the back of his head embarrassedly. “Umm...hi.”
D sits up and looks down at Elijah who is bright red. “Oh my god! I’m sorry! Are you ok!?” She says, gets up, and then helps him.
“Yeah I’m ok.” He says while standing up straight. He dusts himself off and then joins his friends in staring at Hyde. “What’s going on.”
“Oh he’s just pissed I broke his laptop so he threatened to kill me.” D says making Elijah glares at the older man.
Hyde snickers. “You seriously believe I would have killed you?”
“Well you never know? You did just try hitting me. Woman beater.” D says crossly.
Hyde groans annoyedly making D squeak and latch onto Elijah’s arm. Kira shakes her head and sighs.
“Come now children, no need to fight.” She says.
“Where’s Brooklyn?” Ron asks harshly.
“He’s in there fixing my laptop. He said he didn’t want to be disturbed.”
“Oh is he now?” Kira grins.
“Yeah, why?” Hyde asks confusedly.
“Well I thought maybe you tied him up and beat him to hard or something and you’re afraid to tell us.” Kira says.
Hyde blushes immensely and retracts back. “Why would I do that? I don’t like him and I’m not into kinky things like that.”
“Better not. Cause if you hurt him we’ll have to kick your ass.” Ron threatens.
Kira grumbles and whacks Ron upside the head. “Oh stop it.” Kira looks at Hyde and smiles. “Well when you’re done with him send him back to our room, k?”
“Ok.”
“All right children, lets go home. See ya two weirdos later, and take good care of our kitty.” She says.
They start to walk off but Shylah looks back at Elijah who’s looking at D because she is still attached to his arm. Shylah grabs his arm and tries to drag him along.
“Hey wait. I wanted to ask her if she wanted to go get drinks with me.” Elijah says.
“What!? Really!? I’d love to!” D says and begins to walk in the other direction but Shylah still has a hold on his other.
“He’s coming back to the room with me!” Shylah snaps.
“No way bitch. He said he wants to go get a drink with me!”
“Hey stop.”Elijah pleads but they begin to tug on him.
“LET GO!”
“NO YOU LET GO!”
“Why me?” Elijah thinks to himself.
Hyde shakes his head and walks into the elevator by himself. He shuts the door before anyone else can get in and leans up against the side wall while sighing deeply. A sharp pain shoots through his head causing him to fall to his knees and hold his head in sheer agony.
“No, stop it!” Hyde says painfully. He breathes heavily then stops as a black aura engulfs his whole body. The aura disappears and now a form with black hair and tan skin has taken his place. He opens his eyes, which have also changed to the deep crimson like before, and begins to chuckle. “You can’t fight me Yuri, so don’t try it.” A deeper and colder voice says. He stretches making some bones crackle and softly groans. “God it’s been far too long since I’ve been out of that hell hole of a cell.” He says and begins to snicker. The black haired man looks down at his hands and remembers Brooklyn tensing up when he touched him. “He was quite the pretty one. I might have some fun with that one before I kill him.” He says, licks his lips, and grins sadistically.
Down at Wolfe’s, Julius and Janice have gotten changed and are now getting ready for bed.
“So Julius, what kind of person is Mil?” Janice asks his twin.
“Someone to keep your STD ridden hands off of.” Julius says snidely.
“I don’t have any STD’s.”
“Not anymore right?”
“What happened to me is no of your damn business.” Janice grumbles.
Wolfe walks in with his hand on his head and grumbles. “Hey, shut the hell up and go to bed. You’re giving me a headache.”
“Well mom told you not to drink so much.” Julius tells him.
“Julius shut up or I’ll shut you up. And I don’t give a damn what that woman says.”
Julius scoffs and climbs into bed and Janice follows shortly after. Wolfe shuts off the light and slams the door shut as Julius rolls onto his side and fidgets. Janice spreads himself out and “accidentally” kicks his brother in the back. The older teen growls and pushes his brother off the bed with a huff. Janice gets up and quickly jumps on him, decking him in the face. Julius grabs the other boy by the hair and punches him in the side off the head. They continue throwing punches, clawing, biting and kicking each other while they crash down to the floor. There they still continue the assault on each other knocking a lamp and other items off a night stand.
Julius throws a punch and hits Janice in the jaw. “ASSHOLE!”
“DICKHEAD!” Janice yells and punches back.
Wolfe kicks open the door making it hit the wall with a thud. He grabs Julius by the hair, just as he goes to land a punch on Janice’s nose, and drags him out. Janice sits there listening to the commotion in the other room with a grin plastered on his face. A body hits a wall and yelling is heard.
“What the fuck is wrong with you!? Why must you always start shit with people!?” Wolfe yells furiously.
“It wasn’t my fault! He kicked me first!”
A loud slap echoes.
“Stop lying!”
“I’m not! Why don’t you ever believe me!?” Julius yells tearfully.
A couple more loud slaps can be heard, then a body hitting the floor, and being dragged. Wolfe throws Julius against the bathroom counter, banging his head off of it, and then locks the door from the outside. Wolfe stumbles back towards the bedroom and grabs his beer off an end table before looking at Janice. He takes a drink of his beer and sighs.
“What the hell are you looking at? Get your ass to bed. Or do you want your ass kicked too?”
Janice smiles childishly. “Good night father. Thank you for getting rid of the burden to my sleep.”
Wolfe doesn’t say anything but walks back into the kitchen as Janice shuts the door and gets into bed. Wolfe slumps to the floor and buries his head in his knees. He then throws his bear bottle across the room and begins to quiver. Julius picks himself up off the floor and puts his hand on his bleeding head.
“Fucker.” He cringes. Julius goes through the cabinets quietly but can’t find any medical supplies, so he decides to just use a towel. He presses it to his head while sniffling. “Why is it always me? What did I do to deserve this?” He says to himself and sniffles. “I wish there was some way I could get a hold of mom. She would help me.” He says and looks at the window getting an idea. He goes over to it and pries it open ever slightly. He pulls himself through it and stands on the ledge. Julius looks up at one of the balconies and begins to climb up to it.
Mil is inside his bathroom changing into his pajamas. He puts on his night shirt and his robe then opens the pill bottle Randy gave him and takes one. He sets the bottle back down and walks out. Mil walks into the living room and begins to shut the lights off when he hears something knock on his window. He squeaks, grabs a baseball bat from underneath the couch, and walks slowly over to the window. He peeks through the blinds and gasps. Julius is on the other side with his hand on his knees breathing heavily and bleeding. Mil opens the window and helps Julius in. The older teen collapses in his arms causing them to drop to the floor. Mil lifts up his head and looks at the wounds and bruises.
“I got into a fight with my brother. Then Wolfe beat me and locked me in the bathroom. So I escaped and came here. Do you have any bandages I could use?”
Mil gives him a sad look and hugs him before taking his hand and leading him into the bedroom. Julius sits down on the edge of the bed while Mil gets out his medical kit. He begins to clean the cuts on Julius’ face with peroxide. He throws out the bloody cotton balls and takes out a sterile needle and thread from his kit. He looks at Julius who gets a confused look on his face.
“What’s that for?” Julius asks. Mil points to the largest gash on his forehead which is still bleeding heavily. Julius touches it and cringes. “Wolfe he…” He begins but Mil places his finger on his lips. “You know what your doing right?”
Mil smiles and nods his head. Julius relaxes as Mil dabs the blood away then begins to stick the needle in. Julius cringes and grabs the side of the bed. Once Mil finishes, he cuts the string and throws the needle away. He looks at Julius who has a slight bit of tears rolling down his cheek. Mil wipes them away as Julius looks at him and sniffles. Mil pulls him close and Julius begins to cry softly. Mil rubs his friend’s back and holds him tightly. After a few minutes Julius stops and wipes his tears away.
“Thank you Mil, I needed that.” He says and they look into each other’s eyes. “Is it all right…if I stay here tonight?” Julius asks. Mil blushes, thinks for a second, and then nods making Julius smile. “Thank you so much Mil. For everything.”
Mil kisses Julius on the cheek making him begin to blush. Mil giggles as Julius smiles and wraps his arms around the other boy’s waist.
“So, what do you want to do now to finish off our last day together? Watch another movie? T.V.? Or other things?” Julius says and smiles perversely. Mil gives him a look of “no” making Julius giggle. “I’m just kidding. Let’s just go to bed. I’m really beat and my head hurts. Should I sleep on the couch?”
Mil shakes his head no and pats the bed. Julius rolls to the right side and gets under the covers. Mil shuts off the light and crawls into bed with him. The two snuggle close to each other and sigh. Julius gives Mil a soft kiss on the lips and hugs him making Mil blink confusedly and blush. He then smiles and hugs Julius back. The two eventually fall into a deep sleep unaware of the evil that lurks atop the hotel. The dark haired male stands on the edge of the roof, looking down at the city below, when someone walks up behind him.
“Still no sign of Blitz?” A female voice asks.
He looks back to see Natasha and grins at her. “I’m afraid not. Wherever Fayette hid him, she did a damn good job of it.”
“But at least we got Sanja.” Natasha says.
The man grins evilly. “That we do. All that’s left to do is reprogram her, find Blitz and do the same.”
“My only concern is if we do find Blitz will he try and kill you again.”
“He can’t kill me. He was to much of a pussy.” He chuckles.
”But if I remember correctly he was the one who disemboweled you, right, Panzer?” Natasha giggles.
The dark haired man grits his teeth while touching his stomach. “He just got lucky. It won’t ever happen again.”
“Lets hope so. You’re such a good little lap dog and I’d hate to lose you.” Natasha says and walks over to him running her hand up his shirt softly. Natasha then grabs his face, and attempts to kiss him, but is pushed away.
“I told you I’m not interested in you, so stop trying.” Panzer snaps. “And if your gonna kiss someone don’t wear your poisonous lipstick. ”
“Why, it won’t kill you.”
“I don’t care, so leave me alone and go rape one of your male subordinates.” Panzer grumbles.
Natasha turns away irritatedly as Panzer snickers.
“You are so mean.” She scoffs.
Panzer grins. “Yes I am.”
“Well I think it’s time for me leave. Take care of yourself.”
“Same to you.”
Natasha smiles as a white glow surrounds her. “Try not to get too excited and kill everyone before its time. I know how much you like doing that.”
“Don’t worry I won’t.” He says.
“Good boy. Oh, also make sure Yuri doesn’t screw this up. He doesn’t agree with our plans and probably will try and thwart them.”
“He won’t. I assure you that. And if he does I’ll make him regret it.” Panzer says and grins evilly.
Natasha smiles. “I’m sure you will. And one more thing.” She says and Panzer looks back at her questioningly. “I will have you one of these days. Even if it means drugging and raping Yuri. You have such a nice body and it’s a shame to see it not used properly.” Natasha says and teleports away.
Panzer looks back down at the city and groans disgustedly. “Irritating slut. Like fuck I’ll let you touch me or Yuri. Once Elizabeth is here, I’ll kill you and all those who oppose her.” He sighs and looks down at the front of his pants. “Stupid bitch actually turned me on. Hmm. I wonder if that kid is finished yet?” Panzer says and smiles before chuckling. “Quit your bitching Yuri, I won’t do anything to him. I think I’ll just relieve myself. I know you like that Yuri. Because whatever I feel you feel.” He chuckles. “You just need to stop being such a little priss and get laid.”
Panzer walks back towards the door leading into LAZULI while arguing with the voice in his head.
