Chapter 2
When Kira opened her crimson eyes the next day, to say she was only a little confused would be an understatement.
"Did all of that really happen?" she asked aloud.
"Of course." a voice from the corner of the room said. Kira jumped slightly and took a calming breath once she got over the shock of seeing Kura.
Since it was daylight, Kira could see exactly whom it was she had summoned. Kura bore a resemblance to Kira. Kura had short black hair with a red tint while Kira's hair was longer. Kura's eyes were a dark crimson and had a mischievous glint in them. She wore black boots while Kira wore brown. They both wore a blue tunic but Kura was wearing a white undershirt. Kura wore dark blue pants but Kira wore black.
"Urm. You have a staring problem or something?" Kura asked, shifting her weight to her right foot.
"No. But--" Kira gasped. "Is that a katana?!" she asked, clearly excited.
"Yea. Don't see what the big deal is though." Kura shrugged. "So what now, O my Master?" she teased.
Kira didn't rise to the bait.
"We need a plan," she said, "I need to get out of this place." Kura nodded for Kira to go on. "Yes...erm...well." Kira looked around for a pen or pencil to write with and some paper to write on. To her dismay, there was none to be found in the abandoned house.
Kura shot Kira a questioning glance that Kira responded with: "Can you please go get me a pen and some paper to write on?"
Now the unfair thing is, Kira can't conceal her thoughts from Kura. Kura has a choice. She can either let Kira know or just leave her hanging. This time, Kura chose the latter.
'Finally! This will be fun but the memories it'll bring back will not be pleasant.' Kura nodded. "Right! I'll get it for you!"
Kira just stared. "Of course you'd have to do it. I'm your master!" She put an accent on 'master' by mistake.
Kura made a dismissive gesture. "Sure. Whatever. Well, I'm off." she called. Kura walked to the door and left.
-------------
Kura blinked at the harsh light that greeted her.
"Wow... now that's blinding!" she remarked.
As she walked down a street of Sintia, people shot her glances saying, 'She's a devil. Don't get near her.'
'Wonder what's up with them?' Kura wondered. She came to a store and casually walked inside. She walked up and down the isles and saw a red ink pen and on the isle across from it, some paper.
"This'll do nicely." she muttered. She picked up the items and started towards the door. 'Well,' she thought, 'that was bor--'
"Hey! What do you think you're doing?! You need to pay!" the salesclerk yelled to Kura.
'We-ell! Strike that!' she thought, a grin on her face. "Well," Kura started, "this won't be a problem."
Kura muttered something under her breath in a foreign language and smirked before she vanished.
------------
Kira was pacing around the room, awaiting Kura's return. She felt the temperature rise and then fall. Kira turned and saw Kura standing there with a red ink pen and some paper.
"Where did you get the money to buy that?"
"I stole it!" Kura stated proudly. Kira's eyes widened.
"Y-You stole it?!" Kira groaned in frustration.
Kura nodded. "Ayup. So you'd better hurry up with your plan."
Kira took a deep breath and began to write.
"Alright. Well, the best way to get out of here would be by the cover of nightfall..." Kira looked up and saw that the sun was now setting. 'Good.'
Kura leaned against the wall. She was half listening to her Master and half listening to the noises outside. Her sharp ears picked up the noise of cops. She could also smell different types of Demons. As quickly as she could, Kura checked their levels. There were three Demons. One was a Plant Demon that wasn't very well trained and only around level three. The second was an Ice Demon at level five, but the one that worried Kura the most was the Water Demon. It was around level nine and it was closing in fast.
"We have to go!" Kura barked, making Kira jump slightly. Kira looked up and gave the Fire Demon a confused glance. "Magicians are coming!"
Kira groaned. "You let them take a good look at your face most likely." Kira gasped. "They think it was me!"
"Bingo! You might want to let me take over until we are out of town. You can tell me which way to go, okay?" 'Although I already know this town...'
Without giving Kira a chance to argue, Kura closed her dark crimson eyes and turned into a ray of light. The light shot towards Kira and once again entered her body. The feeling like her body was on fire returned.
"Well," a voice came from Kira. But Kura was the one who was talking. "Let's get this show on the road!"
