Chapter 1 pt 2
Two weeks passed, no sign or call from Mark. Haley knew he was gone, she had gone to his house, but it was empty…no signs of life anywhere around or in it.
That night, and many of the following nights, Haley cried herself to sleep. She couldn’t call Mark, his house number changed when he moved. She couldn’t go to his new house, it was three thousand miles away. She was a mess, and everyone felt bad.
High school was a living hell for the poor, single girl. She was unable to forget Mark. Her grades collapsed, the once smart, beautiful girl was trapped in a shell that just wasn’t herself. She never heard any sign, or talk of her ex boyfriend. Most of her friends had moved on, forgetting her, and leaving her all alone. They got tired of her constant moping and talk of him. Even her parents wouldn’t talk to her. Haley was alone in the world, a reject to her peers and parents.
Haley lived out the rest of her High school life in misery and silence. She had her phone on and with her always, just praying that the call would come and it would all be fine.
Something in her mind told her that it wouldn’t be fine…that it was over, nothing good could happen anymore. She looked up, noticing that she had spaced out a bit. She checked to see if she was in the right side of the hallway. She wasn't. That's when she fell, crashing to the floor.
She screamed, being knocked over by a heavy force. Her head collided with the hard, polished, tiled high school floor. She looked up, staring into the bright light, hissing and wincing in pain. She rolled over and sat up, pulling her hair out of her face. Haley looked, wanting to know the, soon to be dead, source that made her fall.
