Blood, Sex and Magik
Twenty Eight
"This won't hurt, right?" Alice Sinclare asked, the black haired woman laying face down on the table in Jess' workroom, her top resting on a chair, her back and shoulders bare. She wore fancy dress pnts and somehow still presented a dignified image, even half undressed.
'And a very nicely shaped back it is,' Jess Drake thought as she laughed softly, moving the equipment over. "Not a bit," she said as she carefully laid the template over Alice's shoulderblade, "at best it might sting." Dressed in a simple t-shirt and jeans she looked rougher than Alice, with a feral, untamed kind of beauty barely hidden by her smock.
"I don't mean to be a worry wart," Alice chuckled back, almost purring softly at Jess touch.
Jess stroked a finger down her back gently, then pulled back. "What I'm doing is airbrushing tones onto your skin temporarily," she said as she started up the airbrush's air compressor, "it's used in applying fake tans, tribal body art and my favorite, temporary tattoos."
Alice looked up at Jess as she quietly said, "I wanted a piece of your art on me... and I'm sorry I'm too scared to get a real tattoo done."
"It's all right," Jess reassured her with a smile, "you have no idea how many people I have in here that I know will regret their tattoos. I'd rather have someone appreciate the art, rather than regret it later." There was a soft hiss as she began to layer on the colors, carefully using the template to control where the paint went. "Does this feel all right?" she asked as she switched to another color.
Alice shivered a bit as she conceded, "A little cold, and it tickles a little."
"That doesn't sound too bad," Jess chuckled. "I'm not ticklish, thankfully."
"Aww," Alice laughed. "I was just imagining getting you at a disadvantage."
"You don't need tickling to do that," Jess murmured as she carefully turned a piece of paper to control the splash of ink, "just give me one of your sultry looks and I'm gone."
Alice gave her a sultry look, "Oh really?"
Jess blushed as she finished a final spray, "Don't do that. If I miss, it'll be a mess."
"Spoil sport," Alice laughed softly as she shifted a bit to watch Jess carefully remove the template from her back. As the paper was carefully pulled free her eyes widened, taking in the fierce hawk in red and gold that was now on her shoulder.
"What do you think?" Jess asked, feeling just a little bit nervous.
"It's beautiful," Alice breathed, moving to throw her arms around Jess. "I love it!"
"Ooh," Jess murmured, feeling Alice's barely covered breasts pressing against her chest. Being careful of the still damp paint she hugged her close, smiling as she murmured, "I'm glad."
"But why a hawk?" Alice murmured, "It's powerful and dangerous... a little like you."
"It's beautiful and fierce," Jess tilted her chin up with a finger, "just like I see you."
Alice kissed her, tangling her fingers in Jess' silky hair as she held her close. Drawing back a little she smiled wryly, "I don't know if I can live up to that, but I'll try."
Pulling away rather reluctantly Jess went to get Alice's shirt, passing it over as she said, "You'll get cold."
"Is it safe to cover?" Alice asked, looking back at her shoulder as she took the shirt from her.
Jess smoothly moved behind her, lightly tracing her fingers over the skin of her back. "The paint I used dries quickly," she reassured her, "it's fine."
"Good," Alice pulled her shirt on, a bit disappointed it covered up the tattoo. "I should get a skimpy t-shirt," she mused, "so everyone can see it."
"I'd love to see that too," Jess winked as Alice laughed, the two walking to the front of the shop, Jess opening the front door for Alice.
Alice smiled, "You'll be the first to see me in one, then."
Sisterhood Bookstore wasn't far from the tattoo shop, and Jess and Alice walked together in the afternoon sunlight. It wasn't a nice part of the city, there was a deffinate aura of decay and neglect around the neighborhood, but there was also the destinct feeling of community there too. As they walked by the coffee shop they both frequented a waitress called hello, smilimg at them cheerfully. Several prostitutes gathered on a street corner talking nodded hello, much as several passers by did too.
"I'll never get used to how well known you are," Alice mused, shaking her head ruefully.
Jess poked her gently, "Hey, the last three people were talking to you." Jess looked amused as she added, "Wasn't that Jeannie who likes to buy all the girl on girl porn?
Alice blushed furiously, "How do you know that?!"
"Hunter gossips," Jess mentioned their mutual friend with a laugh. They walked towards the shop as she saw the familiar figure, "And speak of the devil...."
The lanky blonde was standing by the card rack as she pointed out several cheerfully obscene joke cards to a customer, her grin nearly oozing a vibrant charm. "Are you shopping for something for you or your girlfriend?" she asked the smaller woman leadingly.
"It's for my daughter and her girlfriend, actually," the still attractive redhead admitted.
"There's no way you're old enough to have a daughter," Hunter vowed, "you're far too beautiful for that, Miss...?"
"Alicia," she blushed, looking away as Hunter reached out to caress her cheek with a long, delicate finger.
"I didn't notice a ring," Hunter purred as the doorbell rang, "is there anyone waiting for you?"
"No," Alicia admitted a bit breathlessly as she looked up at the taller woman, "I'm divorced."
Alice shook her head as they headed to the front counter, leaving Hunter alone with her latest seduction. "Do you think that we should do something?" she whispered to Jess.
"Nah," Jess murmured back, "I know Hunter pretty well, and she won't take someone unwilling. If she beds that lady it'll be with her willing cooperation."
"That sounds really bad somehow," Alice muttered, smiling weakly. She stepped behind the counter as she added, "I sometimes forget how much of a hedonist Hunter is."
"She's a slut," Jess laughed as she leaned up against the fine wooden counter, "but I say that in a good way."
"You are so bad," Alice shook her head at her lover.
"Hello," the redhead smiled shyly as she walked up carrying several cards and a book, "I'd like to get these."
"Certainly ma'am," Alice agreed as she rang them up, noting the two lesbian themed humor cards and the book of erotica. "I hope you enjoy them," she added warmly.
The redhead blushed as she passed over the cash and recieved her bagged purchases as she answered with surprising force, "Oh, I will."
Hunter smiled at the smaller woman as she headed to the door, "Thanks for coming by Alicia."
Alicia stopped, taking Hunter's hand in hers as she murmured, "I hope I see you again."
"Phone number?" Jess guessed as Hunter walked back to the counter.
Hunter nodded as she held up the sheet of paper, "Phone number."
Alice shook her head wryly as she said, "Sometimes, you two act far too much like teenaged boys."
"I am far more skilled than any teenaged boy," Hunter defended herself, looking mildly offended by the comparison.
Jess shook her head, smiling. "I really don't think a comment like that is going to help you," she noted wisely.
"I don't even want to imagine your black book," Alice said with a sigh, "I bet it's the size of a phone book."
"Probably two," Jess laughed, "one for A to P and one for Q to Z."
"How did you know?" Hunter looked at her in honest surprise.
"Huh?" Alice and Jess looked at her in shock.
Hunter grinned, "Gotcha."
"One of these days, Hunter," Jess mock threatened then relaxed.
Alice shook her head, laughing softly. "Yes, you too really are like boys," she said with a certain drgree of fondness. She unbuttoned her shirt a bit and shrugged it off one shoulder, revealing Jess' painting, "What do you think?"
"Nice painting," Hunter grinned, "nice canvas too."
"Thanks," Alice laughed as she shrugged her shirt vack on. She looked at Hunter, "I was thinking of closing up earlier tonight, is the paperwork done?"
"Just need to update the log book," Hunter jumped to it, calling up the day's transactions. Soon she finished the record keeping, then the three locked up the shop. She looked at Alice and Jess, "I hope you two have a good night."
"Good luck with your lady," Jess agreed as they seperated, each one walking off into the growing twilight.
