Jett watched Kei walk up to the table then glanced behind him for Aidan. Nikki placed his glass on the table and folded his arms. Kei patted his shoulder and Nikki stood up.

"So where is he?" Nikki asked as Kei pulled out his mobile phone.

"Home. He said he'd call in the morning," Kei replied and Nikki looked amused.

"You think he'll actually do it? He can be stubborn at times. I know."

"Let's not forget that without his dedication to his work, you wouldn't be enjoying the success you have today. Now all of this has got to be quite confusing for you and I apologize. The other band members aren't quite so...colorful," Kei said to Jett and Nikki shook his head.

"Oh they can be a handful too. Let's not forget how Jade can act when he's drunk," he replied.

"Thanks for reminding me of that. I hope he's behaving himself."

"He's not that bad, Kei. Aidan is harder to deal with than Jade. At least Jade didn't go into hiding for a year."

"I could deal with Aidan a lot easier if he wasn't so afraid," Kei said. "I wish he would let me calm him down."

"You're not his type Kei," Nikki said and Kei glanced at him.

"Let's not bring technicalities up Nikki. Now come on. Let's get back to the hotel. I'm going to be extremely busy in the near future. Don't worry Jett, you should expect a call from me tomorrow afternoon. It'll be a little hard to adjust to these guys but they aren't all that bad."

"I think it's a little sad that Aidan is so distant. I'm sure it affects your playing," Jett said and Nikki grinned.

"Have you ever seen our videos? Aidan's a different person when he's on-stage," he replied.

"Don't worry Jett, you can watch videos at my place. I've got concerts, interviews..." Alex said and Nikki glanced at Kei.

"Well if we ever forget a high point in our career, we know where to find footage of it," he said and Kei folded his arms.

"I think we've got plenty of reminders. Now lets go. It's late and I'm still not used to the change in time," Kei said as he watched some young men walk past their table.

"You're not too tired to look at cute faces," Nikki said and Kei shrugged his shoulders.

"Looking and striking up a conversation with them are two different things. Let's go."

"I don't know if I'll become used to working with them. This club is definitely not my thing," Jett said, once Kei and Nikki had walked off.

"I think their manager could tell that. Hey do you want to be really cruel? Call your old girl up and tell her that you got a job with a gay band," Alex said and Jett sighed.

"Then she might think I'm that way."

"Who the hell cares? She broke up with you. Let her think what she wants. She'll be hating herself for kicking you out when you make it with those guys. So they act a little screwy but they're loaded. Besides, they aren't all gay. Last I heard Jade was in a serious relationship with some sort of island girl."

"Why do you know so much about them?"

"I like them and I want to read about them. I do that with all the celebrities I like but I'm one up on you. I knew you before you were famous."

"I'm not famous. I'm just going to write some lyrics for them. That's all."

"You know Aidan writes lyrics," Alex said and Jett looked at him.

"Why do they need me then?" he asked and Jett shrugged his shoulders.

"They need someone who can turn out lyrics fast. Aidan can't do that. He has to be inspired. When he does write, he's phenomenal. Let's go. I've got work tomorrow and you look like you've had your fill of this place."

"If they hired some chicks, I wouldn't mind the place so much. If I did call Mai, I'd have to use your phone. I know she won't answer if I use my phone."

"Call her in the car. I'm quite curious about her reaction to your news. She deserves all that you give her."

"I wish I could take back some things I've given her."

"Forget about it. The manager of Bloodwraith has given you the break you've been waiting for. Soon you'll be able to have anything you want. You'll be able to pay for the repairs on your car. Hell, you could even buy a new car. Jett you're going to have to promise me one thing," Alex said as he walked up to his car.

"What?" Jett inquired as Alex unlocked his vehicle.

"Don't forget me when you're loved by millions."

"I'm not the snob type. Besides, I'm just going to write a few lyrics. I'm not going to be in the public eye as much as they are."

"You never know. Here's my phone. Call her while I take us home," Alex said and handed his phone to Jett.

"All right. What if she doesn't answer?" Jett asked as Alex started the engine.

"Why wouldn't she answer?"

"I don't know. Mai? It's me. Don't hang up! I just want to tell you something. I got a job. Really. The manager of Bloodwraith wants me to write songs for them. I'm serious. He just offered me the job tonight. Well I don't think that's possible, babe. You see I leave tomorrow. No I've gotta get home and get some sleep. I'll remember you babe," Jett said and turned off the phone.

"That was great. I bet she wishes that she hadn't dumped you," Alex said as he turned a corner.

"You know she wanted to get back with me simply because I had a job. She didn't care about anything else. I don't understand women sometimes."

"Well look at it this way. You'll be away from women for awhile."

"Well I'm not exactly fond of my alternative. I don't want to worry about come ons from the band members."

"There's no need to worry. Nikki's involved in a relationship and Aidan's given up. The other members don't think about guys like that. Well here we are. Sleep tight and call me before you leave tomorrow," Alex said as Jett got out of the car.

"I will," Jett replied and pulled his keys out of his pocket. Life was certainly strange. Just a few days ago, he was panicking about scraping up money for his bills and now he had a job with a foreign band. Perhaps the previous night hadn't been just a coincidence. Perhaps it had been fate. Jett shook his head as he inserted the key into the lock. Now he was thinking like one of those occult fanatics. He really needed to get some sleep.
