Skye picked up a fork and glanced at Nikki. He watched Nikki take a bite of food then sighed. Nikki glanced at him in concern and Skye forced a smile.
“So how did you react after he told you?” he inquired and Nikki sighed.
“I was surprised he said it. I was hurt by it but I suppose it's the only option. I really wasn't being fair to you, was I?”
“You weren't but at least you came to your senses.”
“Well if Jade had an opinion on it then I knew I had to stop. Jade never has an opinion on anything.”
“Well I'm glad he felt so strongly about us. It means a lot when someone who doesn't really show his views has an opinion on a situation.”
“This will make the tour interesting. I know we won't be able to room together. We wouldn't want to tempt fate. You know what happened when I tried to have a serious conversation with him.”
“I know and I don't to hear you tell me that again. Will Jett be going on the tour?”
“I guess so. Why?”
“Maybe they'll stay together. They live together after all.”
“Don't say it like that. You make them sound like lovers.”
“Would it be so bad if it turned out that way?” Skye inquired as Nikki picked up his glass.
“He doesn't seem to be Aidan's type,” Nikki replied.
“And you're an expert on Aidan's likes and dislikes?”
“Well I lived with him.”
“I'm sure he's changed since you've known him so intimately.”
“Perhaps but I still know his pleasure zones.”
“I would think those areas were standard.”
“I'm not talking about the obvious areas Skye. There's more to sex than just the cock.”
“Nikki if you get any more obscene, I won't be able to finish eating.”
“Did that last remark get to you?”
“What do you think?”
Nikki shook his head as Skye glanced away. Nikki smiled as he took another bite of his meal. Skye glanced out the window and sighed. It looked like it might rain later on in the day. Rain could be so depressing. Nikki kicked him and Skye glanced at him.
“What was that for?” Skye asked as Nikki stood up.
“You're ignoring me,” Nikki said and Skye shook his head.
“You never liked being ignored, have you? Would you like me to stop eating so we can go to bed?”
“Are you done eating? I don't want to pressure you into bed.”
“I don't feel like eating any more.”
“Are you sure?”
“I'm sure, Nikki. Let me take some of my medicine while you put the food away.”
“All right you've convinced me. I just don't want you starving yourself just to please me,” Nikki said as Skye stood up.
“I'm fine. Nikki, what will you do when I leave?” Skye inquired and Nikki paused.
“You mean forever?”
“Well that's the only way I'd leave you. What will you do? Will you move on? I don't want you to be hurt like Aidan. I don't want you to hide from your feelings.”
“I'm not Aidan.”
“I know but death is not pretty. You may be prepared for my death but you won't be prepared for when I go. It's a shock to have someone around all the time and then suddenly find them gone. I know you'll miss me terribly and you have no idea how you'll react. I don't want you to run from the pain.”
“Why are we discussing death? No you're not....”
“No Nikki. Don't panic. It's something we need to talk about though. I'm not going anytime soon but you need to have some sort of plan for when I go. I know living without me will be hard for you. It was hard for you when Aidan disappeared. You may have been able to fool the others but I knew how much his absence hurt you.”
“I can't hide anything from you, can I?”
“Not in the way of your feelings you can't. You can hide other things though. The reason why you're taking your camera with you on tour, for example.”
“When you see what I plan to do, you'll like my reason,” Nikki replied then glanced at Skye. “I thought you had to take your medicine.”
“I do. I just felt like I had to ask that question,” Skye said then sighed. “I don't want anyone to be upset over my death. I had fun while it lasted. I'm also glad you accepted me for what I am even though I couldn't give you a long-term relationship.”
Nikki embraced him and ran his fingers through Skye's hair. He kissed Skye's ear and Skye closed his eyes. He could feel Nikki's hands underneath his shirt and smiled. He was grateful that Nikki had come to his senses and realized that trying to rekindle a relationship with Aidan was impossible. Time did not stand still. Skye yelped in pain and Nikki grinned.
“I don't know what you're thinking about but I hope it's me,” Nikki said and Skye pulled away.
“Don't squeeze so tight,” Skye said as he walked towards the bathroom.
“Sorry. I forgot,” Nikki replied then turned his attention to the table. “I should know not to cook so much.”
“I'm sorry I can't eat more.”
“It's not your fault. You didn't choose to be sick. I bet if you had a choice, you wouldn't get sick.”
“Well I would like to be around you longer. I also wish I could properly satisfy you.”
“It's all right, Skye. I don't mind what we do.”
“Don't sell yourself short. You're a physical person, Nikki. I just can't be any more,” Skye replied and Nikki shook his head.
“It's all right. I love you just the way you are,” Nikki replied as he reached for Skye's arm.
“Put the food away. I can wait.”
“You sure?”
“I wasn't the one that started this anyway. You did.”
“All right. Where do you want to do it?”
“The bedroom is fine. I'll wait for you.”
“Just don't fall asleep.”
“I won't. I'm ready for love. My mouth is drooling for your meat.”
“I'd better hurry then. I don't want you waiting too long.”
“I love you.”
“I know.”
Skye smiled as he walked into the bedroom. He was glad things had worked out for the best. He took off his shirt and stretched. He then placed a hand on his chest and took a deep breath. He didn't need to feel dizzy. He couldn't let Nikki down. Skye made his way to the bed and sat down. He ran his hand over the blanket and sighed. He wasn't looking forward to living alone again but he wanted Nikki to be happy. Nikki was a musician and traveling was a part of his life.
“What's that look for?” Nikki asked as he walked into the bedroom.
“Nothing,” Skye replied as Nikki began taking off his clothes. “I was just thinking.”
“What about?”
“I'm going to miss you when you leave.”
“I wish I could take you with me but I don't want to be somewhere without help if you need it. We both know it's better if you stayed behind.”
“I know but I wish I could see the places you'll be going to. I can't really go out and travel any more even though I'd like to.”
Nikki sat beside Skye and kissed him. Skye pushed Nikki back slightly and Nikki forced him to lie down on the bed. He began licking Skye's ear and Skye sighed in contentment. Nikki moved down to Skye's neck and Skye moaned softly.
“I'm going to miss this when I'm on the road. The day before I leave I'll have to swallow enough cream to satisfy me for at least a month,” Nikki said and Skye grinned.
“I hope I have enough to satisfy you,” Skye replied then yelped in pain when Nikki bit him. “Not so hard. You know I'm not as strong as I used to be.”
“Sorry. I tend to forget when I'm turned on.”
“I wish I could take it better.”
“Hey don't go depressing yourself. Now keep quiet and just feel.”
“Do you think Aidan will ever be happy?”
“I hope so. Why did you bring him up now?”
“I was just thinking,” Skye commented as Nikki moved lower.
“Well stop thinking,” Nikki replied. “I can't get into the mood if you're thinking.”
“I'm sorry. Oh Nikki...”
“Make some noise if you want. I love it when you cry out. Just don't strain yourself.”
“Give it to me good. Oh, do you have to go to work early tomorrow?”
“Not too early. Now be quiet. You know I don't like to converse when I'm trying to screw you.”
“I'm sorry.”
“Forget it. Let's just have a good time.”
