Original Stories Fan Fiction ❯ Break Ups And Lies ❯ Stressed ( Chapter 5 )

[ P - Pre-Teen ]

As, I got home, my mind wandered to Cheryl again. All night, and even at school the next day, I kept thinking about Cheryl and how upset she was, was Aaron really a cheater? Will he ruin my life? Or was she just making things up so she can be with him? It was just that something about her seemed real, like she wasn't making it up.

LUNCH!! Something to take my mind off of her. I was just about to order a Cheesecake when Stephanie came over and ordered for me, “Colleen would like a fruit salad with water.” She said smiling; the lunch lady put the salad and water on my tray. “Why did you do that?” I said as soon as I sat at a table.

“Well…if you sit with us at lunch, you have to eat like us at lunch, so no more chocolate cakes and junk food.” Jessica said “junk food” as if it was the worst thing on the planet. But I kept my mouth shut, and ate the fruit salad quietly. It tasted disgusting, I hate fruit salad, and it had an after taste that was similar to expired milk. But I acted like I did.

``There is something else you should know that we do in our free time.” Jessica said, “What is it?” I asked, “Make fun of people, and ruin their lives.” Stephanie answered. “Kind of like what you did to me?” I asked, beginning to wonder if I should be here. “If you want to be a loner and not hang out with us, you can go over there.” Jessica said, pointing to a bunch of geeks talking about the percentages of them going to a high school. “It's okay…I was just wondering.”

I said quickly, that was close! Just then Amy was walking by with her tray, and was walking past our table. Stephanie smiled and whispered to me, “Put your foot out when she walks by.” I didn't want to be a loner, so I did it. I put my foot out as soon as she was passing our table.

She went falling face first, the food on her tray flipped over and landed right where her head landed, so she got a face full of food. She got up shakily, I couldn't tell her expression because of all of the food. Jessica shouted, “Hey everyone look at Amy!” Everyone turned around, and laughed.

“I like your makeup! Where did you get it?” I said sarcastically, “Really?” She said now very angry, “I think you should try some!” Before I could move, or even say anything, she picked up some mashed potatoes from her tray that didn't completely spill, and threw it all over me. Then, Stephanie threw spaghetti on Amy, Amy screamed in anger. Everyone was watching us throw food around. So someone yelled, “FOOD FIGHT!” There was food everywhere.

After the food fight the principal wanted to know who started it. Everyone said it was Amy, because Amy was the first one who threw food. No one saw that I had tripped her, making her throw food at me. She had a month's detention as punishment. But the thing is, I didn't feel the least bit sorry, or guilty. I found it fun.

“Loser!” “Loner!” “Your such a geek!” I shouted as I walked through the halls, being mean was fun. I stopped caring about school; the only thing that was on my mind was meeting Aaron after school today.

Finally! I thought what a boring day of school, but at least I get to hang with Aaron! I ran over to the rock we always meet at. He was already there, as we started walking to my house we ran into Cheryl.

She was tying her shoes, when she got up and saw Aaron, she looked so mad; she looked as if she would just beat him up right then and there. Then Cheryl looked at me, she had that same frown, trying to tell me something, something was going to happen.

A Week Later On Mon. December 18th2006

School again. I walked to my locker and looked at myself in the mirror. I should start bringing more make up to school. “Hey!” said a familiar voice. “Hey” I replied. “I haven't seen you in a while. “Oh well…I've just been busy.” “With what? Homework?” I asked teasingly. “Look, I was just busy okay!?” Was that anger I just heard in his voice? I haven't heard him like this ever since we met.

“Are you okay?” I asked beginning to get worried. He then turned to me; there was an expression on his face that I've never seen before. “I'm sorry Colleen, I didn't mean to snap at you, I've just been kind of stressed out lately…How about I take you out after school?” “Sure” I said. I was glad that I was going to go out with Aaron again. But why is he so stressed? I should probably ask later. Just then the bell rung.

I rushed to put on my jacket, I was running late again. I practically ran down to the rock that Aaron and me always meet at. I opened my mouth to apologize when I realized that Aaron wasn't there. I sat down on the rock and waited.

While I waited a group of grade sevens walked by. They were talking so loud that people ten miles away could hear them. This is what they were saying:

Blonde Girl: Have you heard about Dana??

Brunette Girl: Yeah! I don't know how she's going to pull it off with that other girl always hanging around.

Dark Haired Girl: I think they're going to get caught.

Then, the blonde haired girl turns my way, then turns back to her group and whispers something. They all laugh and walk away. Who's Dana? I thought. But my thoughts were interrupted when I heard the shuffling of someone's feet behind me. “Sorry I was late.” Aaron apologized.

“It's okay” I replied; “Now where are we going to go?” “Well actually, I told my math teacher that I was going to do my homework today…so I can't do anything today.” He said. “Oh.” I replied. I guess I sounded upset because he quickly added, “I'll make it up to you.” “Alright.” I said, trying to sound happy. Then we walked home.
