Captivated

Waking up from a blissful dream, Yuki smiles to himself as he reaches out for his lover. His hand connects to the pillow but no one is there. He rises up and looks around the spacious bedroom and discovering he is alone, sits up.

Stretching his long arms over his head, he pushes the white silk coverlet off his slim but muscular body. He stands and walks to the master bathroom and washes his face. Looking in the mirror, he rubs his hand over his face wondering if he should shave the overnight stubble from his handsome face. Long blonde hair is pulled back in a ponytail hanging down his back. Light grey eyes sparkle as he thinks of the lovemaking last night.

At this time, he hears a melodious voice, and turns around. He meets the dark eyes of the man who made him call his name all night.

“Good morning sleepyhead. Did you sleep well, I made breakfast.”

“Oh really? I didn't want you to go to any trouble for me. Coffee would have been fine.” Yuki blushes as he drops his eyes...

Shintaro walks into the room with long easy strides, and pulls the younger man into his arms. “It's never any trouble to cook for you.” Bending, he kisses him lightly on the lips as Yuki gasps in surprise.

He can't believe this man cares about him. He is a famous photographer and never allows anyone close to him. He started sleeping with Shintaro over a month ago and he still can't believe he is involved with a man. Although, he can't let it get out he is sleeping with the photographer, he is still happy being by his side.

Shintaro backs up letting his hands drop to his sides. “Do you have any appointments schedule for today?” His eyes reflect the younger man in their darkness.

Yuki looks at him with a slight frown wondering why he would ask him something like that. He looks up and shakes his head, “No, when I decided to spend the night I cleared my calendar to spend time with you. Are you…busy today…I'm sorry I didn't think…” he falters and blushes as he realizes he took it for granted they would be together today. He puts his head down as tears begin to form in the corners of his eyes.

The photographer tilts his head and smiles at him, “I'm happy to know that. There's some place I want to take you and in view of the fact that we have all day we should have some fun, don't you think?” His finger lightly plays at the corners of his big translucent grey eyes.

Yuki looks up at him with a surprised look on his face. “But…what if someone sees us? How can we explain our being together?”

The older man reaches out his hand stroking the side of Yuki's firm jaw line. “Why should we explain it at all? A photographer and his model spending the day together…what is wrong with that? Besides who cares what people think…I don't. Does it really bother you that much…to be seen with me in public?” He looks at the younger man with an amused look in his eyes.

Yuki retreats from the humour of his expression as he tries to make the older man understand their positions. “Your show is coming up and we don't want it spoiled by rumours. You have a reputation to uphold. If word gets out we are seeing each other it would take away from…” he drops his head unable to continue because he always has an excuse to hide his feelings.

Shintaro comes from old money so; he can afford to be as arrogant as he wants. His photographs are renowned, all over the world and if he were to not take another picture, he would not want for anything. The tall raven haired man is as beautiful as he talented. His hair is loose and hanging in his face with a part over his left eye. His eyes appear as black jade in his tan face as he looks at Yuki intensely. Smiling at him with sensual lips, he tilts the younger man's face up with one finger.

“If it bothers you that much…we can stay here, okay?” He bends and kisses Yuki's full lips as he parts them slowly. He moans against the kiss and put his hands against Shintaro's chest. The feelings he has for the older man overwhelms him every time he touches him. If they were seen in public, he just may give himself away. This is one of the reasons he wants to keep their affair private for the time being. One look in his face when Shintaro is in the same room and everyone will know the extent of his feelings for the older man.

“I'm sorry…I just…can't right now. I like being with you but…I'm not ready to shout it to the world. You understand don't you?” Yuki puts his face on the middle of his lover's chest trying not to let him see his shame. `I hope he isn't angry, please don't be angry with me.'

The raven haired man tightens his arms around the young blonde. Yuki can hear his heart as it beats gently in his chest and the rumble of his deep smooth voice as he whispers, “Don't worry about it. I must consider your feeling in this too. Sometimes I am a little selfish this way. I just want to show you off to everyone, forgive me.”

Yuki pulls back and looks up in his handsome face with a frown on his own. “You want to show me off? What does that mean? Am I just another conquest now?” He pulls completely out of his arms, heads back into the bedroom, and looks around for his clothes. The last thing he wants is to be shown off as if he is a trophy for all to see. The very thought fills him with shame.

Shintaro leans against the door frame staring at Yuki as he storms around the room looking for his clothes. He folds his slim but muscular arms across his chest while he looks on in amusement. “Does this mean you've changed your mind about today?”

Yuki stops and spins around, “No…I just remembered, I…uh have to see a customer. With everything happening last night, I completely forgot.” He looks at Shintaro with a small smile. “Can I take a rain check on today?”

“Of course, if that's what you want.” He turns and leaves out.

Yuki watches as he walks out the door and flops down on the unmade bed. He can still smell his scent among the sheets. Shintaro has always had his name linked with some of the most beautiful models in the country and paparazzi was always following him and his dates around. Being shown off by Shintaro and paraded around as one of his lovers is too cruel. What did he expect him to say? Did he not understand how much it hurts being compared to the women and probably other men in his life?

Yuki picks up his jeans and slides them over his slim hips. Standing, he pulls his sweater over his head, flips his ponytail over his shoulder, and heads for the door. He stops at the spiral staircase looking down to see if Shintaro is in the living room. Not seeing him, he descends downward and stops at the bottom looking at his bag next to the steps. `I guess he wants me out fast.' He bends down picking up his bag.

Shintaro walks in the room. He has his right hand in the pocket of his pants and the left holding a cup of coffee. “Here you go, since all you want is coffee, I made some for you.” He holds the cup out to Yuki who just stares at it.

He reaches for the cup with his head down, “I…I didn't want you to go through any trouble for me. I could have gotten something at the train station.”

“It's no problem. I wanted some too. When will I see you again, Yuki-kun?” He looks intensely at the younger man, making him blush, cherry blossom red.”

Why is he using an honorific after my name…could he be upset with me? Did I say something wrong?' Yuki slowly looks up at the older man and bites his bottom lip. He wants to tell him he can stay if he just asks but he knows he will never do that. Shintaro is the type that never allows his emotions to rule him, so he comes off as an emotionless man. It is hard for Yuki to read his face because his expression always belies his words. Shintaro is good at hiding his true feelings from others. His self confidence comes across as arrogance to others and Yuki is no exception.

“I don't know…I have an appointment tomorrow for a shoot. It's in the afternoon so I don't know how long it will take.” He looks down in his cup, wondering if this means he is still interested in him. His heart flutters at the thought of not losing the closeness he has come to expect from this man.

Shintaro runs his fingers through his raven hair as he smiles. “It's no big deal, Yuki-kun. I'm sure when your schedule permits we will see each other. I forgot I have a shoot too. I'm glad you made me remember.”

Yuki hands him the cup after taking a couple of sips and picks up his bag. Throwing it over his shoulder he walks too the door. With his hand on the handle, he turns his head and says good-bye in an inaudible voice.

Shintaro nods his head as he watches him. He wants to tell the younger man not to leave but he can not impose his wishes on him no matter how badly he wants to. When the door shuts, it brings him out of his musings and he slowly walks to the kitchen. He slams the cup in the sink and as it shatters, he curses under his breath.
XXXXXXX

Yuki walks to the train station, buys a ticket, and waits on the platform. He is unaware of the stares he receives because his mind is still on Shintaro. He sighs as he leans against the broad wall wondering if he should have accepted his invitation to go out in public. When he raises his eyes there are two teenage girls looking at him smiling. One asks, “Are you the model, Yuki Hanabusa?”

Yuki blinks at the girls and straightens up, “Uh…yes…yes I am.” He blushes as others turn at the young girls squealing. He feels everyone's eyes on him as he looks around. There are now more people crowding him as he looks for the train so he can escape. He is asked for his autograph when the train pulls into the station and he heads for the doors as others are getting off. The people on the platform follow him on as they push and shove to get near the model.

Yuki falls against a tall well dressed man who puts his hands out and catches the young man in his arms. He pulls Yuki in a protective embrace. He glares at the other passengers, “What the hell is going on here! What are you trying to do to this young man?!” His arms tighten around Yuki as he slips down his rescuer's chest.

The people on the train back off with one of them saying he is a star, as if that is a reason to shove and do whatever they want.

The man holding Yuki glares at the speaker, “That's no excuse to treat him this way. Leave him alone and mind your own business.” He holds Yuki around the waist and looks down at him. “Are you okay? Do you want to get off at the next stop? I'll go with you to make sure you're not followed by your crazed fans.”

Yuki gasps for air, “Yes…please if you don't mind.” He keeps his head lowered as the passengers look on in curiosity.

At the next stop, they get off and Yuki walks over to the bench and sits with his head thrown back and his eyes closed. He remembers he is not alone and opens his eyes as he looks up into the smiling face of his hero.

“Do you want something to drink? There is a vending machine on the other side. I'm kind of thirsty myself.” He looks at Yuki with a slow sensual smile on his full lips.

Yuki blushes under the blonde haired man's gaze. He looks away and says he wants some water but he'll pay for it “you've already done enough for me, so I can't let you do that.” He reaches for his bag, finds it gone, and stands looking after the train. “I've lost my bag! It has my wallet in it and my keys!” He looks at the older man with panic in his grey eyes.

“We can go to the train station headquarters and try and get your bag back but I doubt if anyone will turn it in. Was there something in there you can't live without? I mean something of value other than your keys and wallet.”

Yuki flops down on the bench and thinks about the contents of his lost bag. There was his wallet and keys but nothing of infinite value that he couldn't do without. When he realizes this, he relaxes and takes a deep breath. “I guess not, but I can't get into my apartment without my keys.” He puts his face in his hands, “Now what do I do?”
The man smiles as he looks down at Yuki, “You could come with me.”
