Jaelyn lugged the huge suitcase after her as she climbed up the stairs.
She had been lost for a whole hour, still trying to find her room, she hoped that she didn't have a roommate.[*]
Cursing under her breath, she climbed the last few steps, she had barely spent a day at this school, and she already thought it was hell.
Panting heavily, she almost jumped with joy when she found a room with her last name under the room number of the door. Unfortunately, there was also another person's last name there.
"Ah well", she muttered, "beggars can't be choosers." She opened the door and was suprised at the sight that she found.
The room was big...it was 3 times as big as her old room in her aunt's house. The bed was an old fashioned canopy bed, the covers were laced with frills, and the pillows were huge.
Jaelyn's mouth curved slightly at the edges into something like a smirk and a smile. <em>'I gotta thank Mr. Solomon for this'</em>, she thought, amd she dropped her bags next to the bed and sat down.
The bed was so comfortable, soft, yet firm. Taking a deep breath, she closed her eyes, and layed her head on the pillows, falling asleep after a minute or two.
After a while, Jaelyn woke up. She rubbed her eyes and stood up. Remembering that she hadn't taken a shower yet, she explored the rest of the room.
Opening one of the doors she found the bathroom. She went back to her case and took out some clothes, then went back and got the shower ready.
The water was nice and warm. Jaelyn looked at her reflection in a mirror on the opposite side of the shower.
Her straight black hair went down all the way to her ankles, her blue eyes were dark like sapphires, and her skin wasn't pale, but just lightly tanned. She laughed softly, remembering the words her grandmother had told her just a few days before she died.
----flashback----
"Lyna!", her grandmother shouted, "child, were are you?" Jaelyna giggled and ran to her grandmother, "what's the matter grandma?", she had asked innocently. Her grandmother sighed, "sit down child", she ordered, when they were both sitting, her grandmother continued,
"Lyna, as you know, there are many things...beings out there that are not normal, yes?" The little girl nodded, "well", her grandma said, "you're great-great-grandmother, was given a gift that was passed down to her descendants...we were given the gift to give life."
Jaelyna's grandmother had tears in her eyes, "we can control the dead, and child...many have found out, our line is being hunted...they want to find us necromancers." The girl nodded, "I know", she said simply, "I brought my dog back from the dead just last week, but she's not the same, she don't bark anymore."
Her grandma sighed, "we give life to animate dead corpses, but they will never be the same, we can't bring them back fully from the dead, they will be just bones and bits of flesh", she paused, then continued, "child when they[#] come looking for you, don't let them use you, you must use them! Use your body as a woman,
women are more powerful than men, if we use our bodies wisely, we can have them serving our every whim, remember that Lyna."
"Also remember that I will always love you", she whispered under her breath.
----end of flashback----
As she checked herself out in the mirror, Jaelyna knew that she could use her grandmother's advice when she needed it. No way in hell was anyone gonna use her.
She grabbed a towel and wrapped it around herself before walking out of the bathroom. As she picked up her shirt, the door opened and a guy ran in.
It took a while for both of them to realize the other was there. Jaelyna stared in shock as another pair of eyes locked with hers. A pair of green eyes.

A/N:
okay, time to write down what the key's meant:
[*] she doesn't want a roommate coz she's the only girl, meaning any roommate of hers would be a guy.
[#] they, refers to humans & other supernatural beings (vampires, fairies, shifters, etc.) who are hunting necromancers.
oh, and here's a list of shifters that I can think of at the moment-
Werewolf
Leopard
Lion
Swan
Hyena
Snake
Bear
Jaguar
Panther
might think of more, I don't know~
Important note: Jaelyn is her name, but she's also known as Jaelyna. I will frequently choose to shorten her name when it bugs me, so if you read:
Lyna
Lyn
Jae
or anything that seems similar or part of her name, then I'm talking about her =)
anyway, please review and I'll add more~
