The Power of MIB

Daryl grabbed an apple and began eating it. He was in his boxers and a tank top, his usual sleep ware. Mikey came down in plaid felt pajamas. They were his usual sleep ware.

It had been a month since the asteroid had started coming to earth. Daryl wasn't really using his new powers much, but he knew he had them. It was like knowing what your Christmas present is and you can't wait to open it.

Mikey grabbed the remote and turned on the TV. “News?” He asked. “You were watching news on a Saturday? Saturday was meant for cartoons!” He said. Daryl shrugged. “They were talking about those weird guys popping up all over the world with powers.” He said. “I can't help but feel it was partly my fault. I smashed the asteroid. Then the rocks went flying to earth and now this!”

Mikey smiled. “Yeah,” He said. “If you had only vaporized it instead. That would have been cooler.”

The sound of helicopter blades spinning came from outside. Daryl and Mikey rushed out to see what was going on. A large, black helicopter with 51 printed on the side came down.

A man with neat, black hair and sunglasses stepped out. He wore a white tuxedo with a black tie. “Are you Daryl Chasler?” He asked. Daryl nodded. “Yes. Are you some wacko psycho millionaire?” He asked. “He knows too much!” The man yelled. “Grab him!” Men in riot gear with the number 51 printed on it sprayed gas into Daryl and Mikey's face. The two brothers passed out.

Daryl woke up in a dark room. Mikey was asleep next to him. Daryl tried to move but he realized he couldn't. He'd been bound and, as if that wasn't enough, drugged.

“I'm sorry for the… rude summoning, but we couldn't exactly call.” Said a voice. A man dressed in a black sweater with blue army pants walked up. He had messy black hair and sunglasses. On his sweater was printed the number 51.

Daryl glared at him angrily. “Who are you?” He asked. “My name,” The man said while pushing the button on a remote he had pulled out, “is Major Tomorrow. And this,” He paused as the lights came on, revealing what appeared to be an army fortress, “is Area 51.”

Daryl gazed around in amazement. Tomorrow pushed another button on the remote and his bonds came undone. The effects of the drug wore off as well. “I don't have to be an enemy Daryl.” Tomorrow said. “Not when there's a greater enemy in existence.

“Project D.A.R.Y.L., funded by the government, supervised by Area 51. The purpose was to stop the Solomon Asteroid from colliding with earth. Unfortunately, when you tried to destroy the asteroid, fragments fell to earth resulting in super freaks.”

Daryl was amazed at the information. “How do you know what happened in space?” He asked. Tomorrow smiled. “The same way we know what gum every American chews.” He said. “We… spy on them. We see. We see everything.”

Mikey finally woke up. He looked around, trying to find out where he was. “Whoa! I must be in Area 51!” He said. “Everything I read about in tabloids at the grocery store and more! Oops, did I say read? I meant skim.”

“Why'd you bring us down here anyway?” Daryl asked. Tomorrow snapped out of his amazement of Mikey's stupidity to answer the question. “Area 51 is the world's most top secret government institution.” He said. Daryl shook his head. “Nope.” He said. “Everyone knows about you and your alien research.”

Tomorrow frowned. “Well, excuse me!” He snapped. “I'm sorry that our organization isn't to your liking! Well tough! I'm in charge here and if I say this place is top secret, it's top secret!” Daryl and Mikey stared at him in horror.

Tomorrow realized he'd lost his cool, and simmered down. “Sorry.” He said. “As I was saying, it's still the world's most top secret government institution. That doesn't necessarily mean it's top secret. One lousy magazine subscription and everyone knows you exist!

“Anyway, Area 51 exists for one reason only. To prevent nasty, alien associated disasters from occurring. We are assisted by The Galactic Alliance, as well as several independent alien associations.”

Daryl nodded. “So you guys are the reason I exist in the first place.” He said in an amazed tone. Mikey was rubbing his chin. “Wait a second,” He said, “What does the Solomon Asteroid have to do with aliens?”

Tomorrow sighed. “Solomon was an ancient king.” He said. “He was famous for his wisdom. The Solomon Asteroid wasn't actually an asteroid. It was a computer, with the DNA code of every discovered species in the known universe.

“Certain people on earth wanted the asteroid for themselves. They were bad people, and the government couldn't allow them to get their mitts on the asteroid. So Area 51 had to stop these people. That's how Project D.A.R.Y.L. got started.”

Mikey grinned. “Well, it's all okay now!” He said. “The asteroid's been blown up! Nothing bad can happen!” Tomorrow shook his head. “The fragments of the asteroid still exist.” He said. “They're giving off alien DNA, resulting in transformations.” Mikey's grin evaporated.

“So who are these people?” Daryl asked. Tomorrow sighed. “You two ever hear of Men In Black?” He asked. Mikey nodded. “That is my favorite movie of all time!” He said. “Are they helping you defeat the bad people?” Tomorrow turned his back towards the two. “They are the bad people.”

Two men were walking down a hallway. One was a younger Major Tomorrow; only he was only a private then. His friend was a General, dressed in a black outfit with MIB running down the right and left sides of his chest. He was dressed so a person could see his abs, and he had a crew cut.

“Come with me Tomorrow.” His friend said. “I have something to show you.” The two walked into the meting room. Tomorrow sat on one side of a round table, and the General sat across from him.

His friend pushed a button and a 3D hologram of the known universe appeared. “Look at it.” The General said while pointing to a small star. “That tiny planet is earth. It's so tiny, it makes you wonder why we protect it.”

Tomorrow looked at his friend. “Is this why you called me here General ----? To gaze at stars?” He asked. The General shook his head. “I have a proposition for the Major at Area 51.

“MIB and Area 51 are the greatest armies on earth. Why should we be the ones who have to protect the earth? We should be ruling this mud ball!” Tomorrow looked at his friend fearfully.

“Being general has given me a new way to look at things,” He went on, “I'm almost leader! All I need is a good enough vote and I'm promoted! So why should I have to take orders from someone now?

“If I can pull this off, we can join forces! Think about it, you could be the Major of Area 51! Then, we can take over the galactic alliance! It's so simple!” Tomorrow frowned. “You're mad.” He said.

“Perhaps,” The General said. “Or perhaps you're the mad one! I've got most of MIB working for me already, and all of them are on the same page! They've all agreed to my plan, so I don't care if you don't!” Tomorrow stood up. “I won't help you!” He cried. “I'm reporting you to the Major!”

Daryl whistled at Tomorrow's story. “Then what happened?” He asked. Tomorrow sighed. “He killed his major before I could report him.” He said. “He and the other generals took over.

“They started doing experiments in DNA splicing. Combining humans with alien DNA. They became monsters and sent out the Solomon Asteroid eighteen years ago to gather more alien DNA.”

Mikey was on the edge of his seat. “Where do we come in?” He asked. “You don't.” Tomorrow said. “Daryl does. He's one of the only ones we know of that can defeat the MIB.”

Daryl sighed. “Great.” He said. “More things to put on my to-do list.” Mikey frowned. “I want to help.” He said. “Yeah, so did we!” Said a voice. Daryl's eyes went wide. Mikey still had that bug in his ear!

“We've been eavesdropping on whatever it was Mikey's been doing, in case of an emergency.” Joey said over the communication link. Daryl laughed. “What emergency could you get from listening to Mikey?” He asked. “There's no more pudding?”

Tomorrow grabbed the bug in Mikey's ear. “Oh no.” He said. “Oh no, oh no! This isn't good!” Daryl grabbed the bug. “Relax.” He said. “It's just my friends.” Tomorrow shook his head. “Yes.” He said while rubbing the back of his neck, “But the MIB could have been listening in!”

Tomorrow motioned towards him and a strange creature came. The head had hand-like tentacles sticking out of the bottom of the head. The head and hands were green, and it had no hair. The body was robotic.

“Can I help you?” The creature asked. “Yes, Timbarko,” Tomorrow said. “The MIB knows our new location. Get The Cleaners to move Area 51 to a new location.” Tomorrow grabbed the bug and crushed it.

Tomorrow took out the remote. “I'm sorry, I can't let you see this.” He said, while pushing a button. Two robotic arms holding tasers came down behind Mikey and Daryl. The arms lunged forward, and zapped Daryl and Mikey. The two brothers fainted, and tomorrow flipped the remote around in his hand. “Well, I think that went well.”

Daryl woke up. He was still in Area 51, but something felt different. He rubbed the side of his head. His eyes focused on a nearby wall. The wall disappeared, and he saw a sign that read “Welcome to Singapore.”

Daryl gave a small smile. “X-Ray vision.” He said to himself. “Gotta love it.” He turned to Mikey, who was sleeping in a puddle of his own drool. “Mikey, wake up.” Daryl said. “Mommy,” Mikey muttered, “can I have one more cup of pudding?”

“Is he always like this?” Tomorrow asked. Daryl turned to see the major sitting in front of a bunch of monitors. Daryl nodded. “Pretty much.” He said. “So Area 51's in Wisconsin?” “Singapore is in Malaysia, and this is our new base.” Tomorrow answered.

Daryl looked at one of the monitors. It showed a pile of rubble next to a sign that read, “Welcome to New York City.” Tomorrow shook his head. “That's what's left of the base you were just at.” He said.

Daryl gulped. “How long have I been asleep?” He asked. “Forty-five minutes.” Tomorrow said. Daryl's eyes went wide. “You went from New York to Wisconsin in forty-five minutes?” He asked in disbelief. “It's Malaysia, and it only took us ten minutes.” Tomorrow said.

“They took out the building with a molecule eating bacteria.” Tomorrow continued. “It's designed to eat only nonliving things. By the time it dies out, it's already eaten the support beams. That causes a collapse, and people die.”

Tomorrow pushed a button on his remote. The spot Daryl was standing on began to glow. The spot where Mikey was lying began to glow too. Tomorrow pushed another button. “You cannot tell anyone what happened.” He said. “No one can no the new location.” He said something else, but Daryl couldn't hear it, as everything went dark.

Daryl woke up in his bed. He felt tired and groggy. “Was it all a dream?” He thought. He rubbed his back in pain. He took off his tank top and looked at his back in the mirror. On his back, were marks that a person gets when they're zapped with a taser.
