Superior
Daryl looked around the hallways of the school. People were pointing at him and whispering, the ultimate teenage torture method. Daryl walked over to his locker (which had a new door) and got out his stuff.
Eustace and Victoria ran up to him. “Hey D.” Eustace said. “Saw the news last night. Guess people have to find out sooner or later.” Victoria nodded. “But the good news is, Andrew, Bruno, and that first grader will be afraid of you and won't bother you.” Victoria said.
Andrew walked up to Daryl and gave him a wicked glare. Daryl watched as Andrew walked away. “There's something not quite right with him.” Daryl said.
Daryl walked over to the bike racks and grabbed his bike. Andrew was right next to him, chewing gum. “Loser.” Andrew muttered under his breath.
Daryl's hothead got a hold of him. “Loser?” He asked. “Loser? I am not a loser! I'm an android with all the functions of a human!” Andrew smiled. “Give a loser weapons and powers,” he said, “and he's still a loser.”
Daryl jumped at Andrew, who sidestepped the attempted attack. He grabbed Daryl's left leg and tied it to his right arm with a bike chain. Daryl broke free of the confines easily.
Daryl picked up the bike chain that was used to tie his limbs together. It was his bike chain. “How did--?” Daryl wanted to ask Andrew how he'd done it but before he could, Andrew was gone.
Paul slammed a device down on the living room table. “I call it the Electro-Static Pulse Cannon.” He said. Daryl picked up the device. “This looks like mom's good toaster.” He said. “What your mother doesn't know,” Paul said, “won't hurt me.”
The device looked like a standard toaster. It had a handle with a trigger, and a solar pack. “I designed it to specifically blast Magnetrix next time you two meet.” Paul said.
“How am I going to carry this around?” Daryl asked. “It weighs, like, thirty pounds. I can carry it, but my book bag can't.” Paul nodded. “Have you tried to concentrate your energy to your torso yet?” He asked.
“No.” Daryl said. “What'll happen?” Paul smiled. “Special technology inside of you can analyze and copy any device you want.” He said. “You can copy the ESPC and use it when you meet him!”
Daryl changed into his robot form. He concentrated on his torso, and a long, thin robotic arm came out of his back. The arm was holding an ESPC. “Can I do this with any machine?” Daryl asked. “Only if it doesn't have AI.” Paul said.
Daryl jumped up and ran out of the house. “Magnetrix's going down!” He said as he left.
Paul smiled and nodded. “Has anyone seen my good toaster?” Leslie yelled from the kitchen. Paul's smile disappeared.
Everyone was at the Digital Bean. Johnny looked at the coffee he had just gotten. “George Washington?” He guessed. Joey shook his head. “No.” He said. “The assassin of Archduke Ferdinand was not George Washington.”
Mikey ran into the Digital Bean. “Guys!” He stammered. “Some men in black were chasing me!” “So you led them here?” Eustace asked. Mikey nodded. He then realized the blunder he had made. “Oops?”
The door to the Digital Bean got kicked down. Two men wearing black tuxedoes walked in. One of the men was bald, muscular, and short. The other man had a short, black, half an inch tall head of hair. His eyes were squinting, and he was very tall.
“We're looking for Daryl Chasler.” The short man said. “We work for a top secret facility called MIB. Men In Black.” The tall man smacked his partner upside the head. “It's not top secret now, is it?” He asked.
Mikey remembered what Major Tomorrow had said. “Guys.” He whispered to his friends. “These are bad men. We can't tell them where Daryl is!” Mikey suddenly felt the feeling of metal on his flesh. The tall man had walked over to Mikey and put a gun to his head.
“Tell us where Daryl is.” The tall man said. “Who are you?” Mikey asked. “We can't tell you are names are General Black and General Blue.” The tall man said. “Black!” The short man yelled. “You weren't supposed to tell them our names! What a waste. Now we have to kill them.”
The tall man- General Black- was about to pull the trigger on the gun. Victoria kicked him in the gut before he could. The General dropped the gun, and staggered over to the wall. He leaned on the wall for support.
Everyone stared at Victoria. “What?” She asked. Eustace's jaw fell open. “Girls can't be that strong!” He yelled. Victoria kicked him between the legs. “Sexist.” She said.
General Blue -the short man- pointed his gun at Victoria. “STAGE DIVE!” Johnny yelled from the top of a table. He jumped off the table with a saltshaker in his hand and tackled General Blue. He then whacked the general on the side of the head with the saltshaker.
General Black recovered from the kick Victoria had given him and charged in to punch Joey. Joey took a textbook out of his book bag and threw it at the General. “Who says nerds can't fight?” He asked.
Eustace got up off the floor and grabbed General Black's underwear. “Punk!” He said in a high-pitched voice. He pulled the underwear up over the General's head.
General Blue threw Johnny off of him and attacked Mikey. Mikey grabbed a cup of coffee and threw it in the General's eyes. While he was blinded, Mikey kicked him in the butt.
The two generals ran out of the café as fast as they could. Joey did a small victory dance. Victoria stopped him. “They'll be back. With greater numbers.” She said. “Okay Gandalf,” Mikey said humorously, let's just find Daryl.
As the group ran off to find him, Andrew gave a small smile. “That's not a bad idea.” He said as he disappeared.
Magnetrix grabbed a car and began feeding on the energy. “These biologicals are a pitiful amount of energy.” He said. A blast of energy slammed him into the wall. “How was that for a power surge?” Daryl asked triumphantly.
Magnetrix's one eye had an angry look. “Didn't I teach you a lesson last time?” He asked Daryl. “No matter. Your energy will be quite refreshing.”
Magnetrix's arm stretched out and grabbed Daryl. Daryl blasted Magnetrix with energy from his eyes. Magnetrix merely absorbed the energy and began absorbing energy from Daryl.
Suddenly, Magnetrix exploded. Daryl fell to the ground. Where Magnetrix had once been, Arnold Schneider was standing. “This place is a mess!” Arnold said. “Well, a janitor's work is never done.” He walked away to go get a broom.
Daryl looked around. “Who did that?” He asked. “I did.” A voice said. Daryl saw someone on a rooftop. He looked just like Daryl only he was red. Instead of slits covering his eyes there was a small hole that made his eyes visible like a ninja's. He wore a long red cape and red hair was coming out of the back of his head.
“Do I know you?” Daryl asked. The boy shook his head. “Call me Atlas.” He said. “Atlas?” Daryl asked. “I've got the weight of the world on my shoulders.” Atlas said.
Daryl just nodded. “Thanks.” He said. “I really needed help.” “No problem.” Atlas said. “I'm your superior. I was supposed to help you in a time of crisis.”
Daryl laughed. “Hate to break it to you,” He said, “but I don't have a superior.” The next thing Daryl said, Atlas was behind him with a laser sword at Daryl's throat. “You were saying?” Atlas asked.
Atlas removed the blade from Daryl's throat. “How'd you move so fast?” Daryl asked. “I transferred my energy to my legs.” Atlas said. “Just like you do.”
Daryl's eyes went wide with realization. “Then… that means…” Daryl couldn't finish the sentence. “That's right.” Atlas said. “I'm D.A.R.Y.L. Model 1.”
