Original Stories Fan Fiction ❯ Deeper Than Death ❯ Chapter 1 ( Chapter 1 )
[ T - Teen: Not suitable for readers under 13 ]
Mimi Harrison fell to her knees, her petite body shaking as the world spun around her. She forced back bitter vomit and tears as clutched the dirt beneath her. Scenes of the unwanted memories of the past events flashed before her eyes, the urge to vomit rose again. A month ago she would have never guess her boring life would change, and she would be running from a madman like she was now.
The nightmare all started on a seemingly regular Friday in August. Mimi decided to go into town to do some serious back-to-school shopping.
She should have never gone alone.
The nightmare all started on a seemingly regular Friday in August. Mimi decided to go into town to do some serious back-to-school shopping.
She should have never gone alone.
After a few hours window shopping, Mimi leaned on the steel blue railing that overlooked the beautiful water clock on the ground floor of the mall. There were only a few of its' kind. Mimi admired how the sections filled with dyed blue water to indicate the hour and minutes. Not many people understood how the tubes and containers and the flow of the water could correctly tell the time. As a child Mimi devoted her time to figure it out, there weren't many puzzles in the world she couldn't figure out.
Her soft orange hair fell in front of her face as she gazed down at the clock with sparkling green eyes. She sighed deeply; seven O'clock and it was exceptionally dark outside for a summer day, the sun usually stayed out until nine. Mimi shrugged it off and stood upright, preparing to leave to catch the next bus home.
“Hey Babe, what's a pretty thing like you doing here all by yourself?” A voice addressed her from her left. Mimi just simply rolled her eyes, she didn't feel like wasting her time with more immature, testosterone-fueled boys. Gazing at the `boy' she did a double take and nearly vomited right there and then.
This male was border lining thirty, built like a brick house and about as tall as one too. Checking to made sure he was addressing her, she shuddered and walked off. Though her actions of disinterest were crystal clear, they seemed to be unsuccessful when a hand grabbed her arm roughly, hard enough to instantly bruise her pale peach skin. “Where are you going Babe? Don't be shy on my account.” The dark haired man said with a lustful smile.
“Sir, please back off, I'm sixteen I don't think I'm your kind of girl.” Mimi spat pulling her arm back, only to have it snatched again by the aggressive man, he pulled her close and whispered sickly.
“No Babe, you're just my type.”
Mimi screamed as the man pulled her into a discrete corner on the mall. The people who had filled the walkways earlier had left thanks to the early nightfall, leaving the mall relatively empty, and left her screams hopelessly hung in the air. The man ruthlessly slammed her into the wall and closed in on her, escape was not an option. Unshed tears stung her eyes, but she refused to show weakness in front of this scum of a human being.
As the man began to force himself upon her, her adrenaline finally kicked in as she tackled the man, sending him toppling backwards, unfortunately his grip held strong on her and was dragged along for the ride. “Fuck off!” She growled, squirming and twisting her body, trying to wiggle her way free. Viciously, she bit his arm hard enough to cause blood to squirt out, resulting in him releasing her.
Mimi jumped back and kicked her assaulter, just hoping to cause him to fall so she would have enough getaway time. However if she wasn't so busy fighting for her life to realize their location, she would of known the railing was directly behind the man. Subsequently, this caused the man to topple over the railing, and slam to the concrete floor of the bottom level of the mall with a horrible crack and squish.
That's all she remembered of that incident.
Blood.
Death.
Cops.
If only her nightmare had ended there…
