Prologue

 

There was a time when all was normal, all was well, and when all happiness still flourished, there was a world called Nomanin-the land of hope. That happiness soon disappeared a year later when darkness shrouded the land and took control of everyone there. All those who resisted either died or, if they had a strong heart of light, became holy bearers of light-the Almungs. There were four known to exist but who knows how many are still unknown to us all. Of course, there are those who have willfully succumbed to the darkness and obtained extraordinary abilities that are called the Nobeli. They have an infinite access into the darkness but for an instinctive objective, to keep darkness alive and flowing about the land. This objective also means to kill the Almungs as well. They watch over their designated lands and they can also do anything to it and in it. The lives of a few ordinary kids living in one of the Nobeli's lands are about to change. This is their story.
