Prologue

China, Zhou Dynasty Era

An old man sat inside a gazebo on the top of hill, one of his hands was writing words onto a piece of paper placed on a round wood table in the front of him. His three young and little students sat next to him, watched for his master curiously.

“Master, what are you writing on?” one of the students asked.

The old man smiled, “I'm writing a poem.”

“A poem?” the other child switched over.

“That's right, but this is not an ordinary poem.”

Could not understand their teacher words, those three young students raised their eyebrows, “What do you mean by `not ordinary poem?'”

Their teacher laughed and then explained, “This poem narrates about the legendary imperial cat and his twin sword. That is why it is not an ordinary poem.”

“Huh? Are cats in Hao City able to use swords?

“What?” The elder stared his students with puzzle, “Aiya! You, Childs, do not know about the legend? Did your parents tell you any words?” The little ones shoved their heads, stared back to their elder with dull looks.

Escaping a hopeless sigh from his mouth, the teacher put the brush in his hand onto the table. He set his sitting position and then started to explain, “More than twenty years in the past, above this Zhou land, there was an invincible swordman named Chen Cao. People in kangow called him as Imperial Cat for he was giving his loyalty to the emperor and had a very fast move.”

“Was he really invincible?” one of his students interrupted.

He nodded, “The sword skill he possessed made him invincible. It famed as Yin Jing.”

“Master, you said something about twin sword earlier. What it means?”

“This swordman Chen Cao had two legendary swords. One of them is Silver Sword and the other is Black Sword. It was told; the Black Sword was one of kingdom's heirlooms before it handed to Chen Cao by the Emperor while Silver Sword has the famous Yin Jing spell carved on its surfaces,” he answered.

“..But why those two was called as twin sword?”

“Ah, yes.” The Old man, “It was probably because each of it has a name of woman carved on it. The rumor was; those women had identical faces.”

“Ooh.. Who are those women, Master?”

The Teacher smiled, “No one knows exactly who they are, my child.”

“And then.. Where is Chen Cao now?”

“Well...” The old man sighed sadly for his student question. “Alas, I believe that the great swordman is already dead.” He stopped a while to catch a stun expression on the children's faces. “He lost his life in his last mission when our kingdom was fighting the Xias. After his death, many kangouw people fought each other to possess his swords.”

The children's shock faces turned out to become angry about the story, “Why there were any people dare to seek for other people's possessions?” they protested.

“The fact was that Chen Cao has no ancestors. That is why people dare to seek those legendary swords, especially, Silver Sword, which has Yin Jing on it. Who would not dream to be an invincible swordman in the world?” The older said.

“But still...”

“And who succeed to have the swords?”

The teacher shoved his head, “It beyond my knowledge, Childs. The elder said; fifteen years ago, the swords disappeared suddenly. No one knows where they go or who have them.”
