"Oh. By the way, would you like an orange, Hikari?", Amaya asked. That was so random, Hikari thought, But... I do love oranges... "Ok.", she answered, "Yeah, I'd like an orange... And don't change the subject, either." Amaya whispered something to herself and dissapeared into the shadows. In a minute or so she morphed out of a wall holding a second orange. "Here you go.", Amaya said, tossing it to Hikari. Hikari caught it and looked at it to make sure nothing was wrong with it. "I'm assuming you don't trust me.', Amaya stated, "Well, that's only to be expected. Anyways...hmm...What was I about to explain?"
" Why the hell you're so creepy.", Hikari reminded her as she decided the fruit was safe and started peeling it. "Ah yes. You see, all of us are in great danger.", Amaya started," And that's just because of what we are. What are your clan's animal guardians, Hikari?"
"What does that have to do with anything?", Hikari asked.
"Quite a lot, actually."
"Ok, then. It's the avians."
"I see... So you come from a very good clan."
"I guess...Now will you just get on with the story please?"
"Certainly."
Amaya paused for a moment, put the tip of her finger in her mouth and stared blankly ahead of her for a few seconds. By this point, Akira and Kogie lost interest in what was happening and started poking each other. Ryo was huddled up in his chair looking like he had to go to his execution the next day, and Hikari thought Amaya had forgotten what she was doing again. Finally, Amaya continued with the story... " As I was saying, we are in great danger because of the demons that posess all of us in this room. Akira and Kogie, pay attention!" The boys snapped fearfully out of their playfight and did as Amaya commanded. "Thank you. Anyways... As an old story says, there used to be six legendary animal spirits. They were extremely powerful, but they couldn't enter this world in their form. So, they took over someone from each of the great animal clans. When the new hosts came to a certain age, a disaster of some sort would come over their clan. And humans, being as judgemental as they are, blamed it all on the poor, little, miserable outcast! Even thought it wasn't even their fault, they were forced to flee for their lives without knowing where their life was heading!" Amaya looked really angry as if recalling a bad memory. Forget saying Ryo was scared. He was crouched behind Hikari's chair trembling and peering underneath it. "Umm Amaya... i think we need to go get Sensei again..." Akira suggested.
"No...It's ok. I need to finish explaining.", Amaya said, calming down a bit. She continued, " Ok... This leads to where we are now. I don't think I need to explain why we all ran away from our clans. I'm sure we all know. Now...Hikari, You're still wondering what our clan animals have to do with this... Well since your clan is represented by the avians... your demon is a bird of some kind. I would tell you what it is, but I think you might want to figure this one out yourself. You're defenitely going to like what kind of bird your spirit animal is. Anyhow, the kind of techniques you can use will be related to your demon's powers. You already subconsiously know your techniques... You just have to remember them with fighting experience. You also know the language of the birds, therefore, you can talk to them... I think that's all I have the patience to say right now."
"Umm can you put that into Akira language, please, Amaya-san?", asked Akira.
Amaya crawled down onto the floor and just looked at him.
"It means that you're only part human and everybody hates you!", Hikari said for the exasperated Amaya.
"Ohhhhhhhhh.", Akira smiled.
" You dunce!". Amaya and Hikari said at the same time.
