A Bound Together Side Story
Frog bits
Summer slowly was coming to an end. The weather was warm but a cool breeze made it feel chilly. Along a path that no one walked were crumpled leaves and other animal tracks. The loud trotting of a horse galloping gracefully through the dieing leaves echoed only for a short while as the horse ran. Its rider was a tall man about six feet. He wore a brown sleeveless vest. Covering his legs was dark green trousers. Dark brown boots covered his feet and light brown gloves covered his hands. Behind him, the riders long blond hair flowed nicely in the wind.
The rider's horse slowed and reared up as an arrow short passed them. The rider pulled on the reins to calm the horse. As it settled, the ride drew from the side of his horse a short bow. From his back, he pulled an arrow from its quiver and readied his aim. He shot the arrow with precision towards where the first arrow had come from. He strained his hearing, waiting to here the bold thud of his arrow connecting with a solid object. Finally the rider relaxed hearing the thud. Moments later a call rang out through the woods.
“Come forth and state your name and purpose!” A gruff sound came.
“I am Sei Mori from the Mori family. I have come requesting an audience with your Master.” Sei yelled, hearing his echo from the trees.
He heard a silence after that. His painted horse padded its feat impatiently. Sei had done this many times before. He was used to this procedure coming many times before with his father.
“What is the reason behind this meeting?” A guard called.
“I simply wish to request for the young Master to accompany myself to the Kay Clan estate to speak freely with the young Master there.” Sei replied. In simple, Sei was requesting to hang out for the day.
“You are granted an audience with young Master and our Master. Leave your belongs and weapons at the gate along with your stead.” The guard called.
Sei had no reason to answer. He slowly made his painted horse walk gracefully. He held his head high and approached the edge of the woods. Upon leaving the woods, the gate of the Path family appeared.
Approaching the gate, Sei dismounted his horse. He attached his quiver to the side of the saddle and disarmed himself of all knives and tools. When he wore only his clothing, he was allowed to enter the estate. Inside the estate, Sei watched Allen and his father spar. When Allen spotted Sei, he smiled. As he was distracted, Allen was struck with the flat end of his father's sword. Sei winced as he saw Allen fall back.
“My son, if this were a true fight, you would have lost your life.” Master Path said and turned, sword still in hand.
Sei stopped and bowed to Master Path and the young Master. “I am most apologetic for distracting young Master during training.”
“No Sei…it was—” Allen began.
“Next time you will come when a time is more suitable?” Master Path said with a smile.
Sei smiled hearing the gentle voice, “Yes Master Path.”
“Rise and come to our conference room. Together we can speak of the arrangement.” Master Path said as he sheathed his sword and returned to the inside of his estate.
Allen smiled softly as he stood up. He grabbed his sword and sheathed it. He would have talked to Sei, but he had to follow his father in.
Master Path was a kind and gentle man. He is strict and strong but would truly never harm a fly. He was kind to all and out going. He tried to make Allen more out going but Allen preferred to keep to himself. He was truly a man who deserved the ital of Master. But like the Kay Clan, the family was restricted to marrying those of pure blood.
Sei admired the Path family. He admired their precautions and their trusts. Sei's family, the Mori clan, was a little different. If someone wants to come to the estate, they had to be escorted because the home was hidden.
The Mori family specialized in hunting. Concealing in nature was one of the many skills the Mori's had to learn. They had to learn about their surroundings and co-existence with it. Sei's father was spacey. He spoke words that were so deep in thought the room of listeners would be silenced. Sei inherited little of that trait though. He did have a way with words when he wanted to.
Sei entered the council room and sat after Master Path and Allen did. He was served tea and he gingerly took the cup.
“Now, what is it I hear of you wishing for my son to accompany you to the Kay Clan estate?” Master Path asked.
“Yes, I would appreciate if young Master Path would accompany myself to the Kay Clan estate. The young Master there is facing a difficult time.” Sei said slowly, setting his cup down in the provided saucer.
“Have you not already been to see him earlier this week?” Master Path pointed out.
“Yes Father but—” Allen began.
“You are to stay silent unless spoken to.” Master Path said sternly, but a smile never left his face.
“Yes, I have requested earlier this week and was granted—” Sei began.
“Then there is no need to see him again.” Master Path interrupted.
“Master Path, if I may add, in order to keep peace in the families, our generation must make good ties now. Our friendship is the start of our alliance.” Sei added with a light smile.
“Father, may I speak?” Allen requested.
“You man.” Master Path replied with a soft sigh.
“Our families are to be there to help one another. If we do not help our friend now, what will let young Master Kay know we'll be there for him next time?” Allen's words were not as well thought out as Sei's but the meaning was still the same.
“To each his own,” Master Path said slowly, “Allen, you are to return before the sun's light as been extinguished.”
Allen smiled and shot up from his seat. He ran out of the room in a hurry. Sei couldn't' help but blink as he watched Allen run out of the room. He turned and looked up at Master Path's amused smile.
“I apologize for Allen's rude behavior.” He paused before looking at Sei, “I do not believe that I ever see Allen as happy as when he spends time with you.” Master Path laced his fingers together and closed his eyes. “Have you heard rumors as of late?”
Sei silently chocked but kept his cool. Sei knew well, of which rumors Master Path had mentioned. The rumors were about Sei and Allen in a relationship that the guards and servants had spread. Sei had to choose his words well.
“I am certain that I hear rumors about a lot of things as of late.” Sei said slowly.
“It has come to my attention that a rumor about you and my son are more then just keeping peace between your family and mine.” Master Path said slowly opening his eyes.
“So it is those rumors you speak of.” Sei calmly stated more then asked.
“Yes, it concerns me that the names of respectable families are being slandered.” Master Path's voice turned from gentle to stern.
Sei slightly shifted in his seat. He now needed to answer Master Path with a lie but still be truthful to his feelings for Allen.
“Your son and I live busy lives and known well of our family's codes. We live our lives as best as we can through our families last years.” Sei paused. “Yes, your son and I are doing more then keeping peace between our families, “Allen's father raised an eyebrow at that, “but I don't believe being close friends gives people any right to slander the good names of our families.” Sei told the truth, not the complete truth, but the gist.
Allen came back in, face flushed as he wore loose fitting attire. He wore an assortment of reds and browns. He wore a sleeveless red tunic with dark brown trousers. His boots were a brown and in his hair was a red ribbon to keep his long white hair behind and out of his eyes.
“Please forgive my rudeness…” Allen said as he bowed. “It was rude of me to…”
“Hurry and leave before I change my mind.” Master Path said as he waved Sei and Allen off.
The two boys bowed and left the room. Sei walked at a steady pace. Servants of the Path estate were whispering to themselves. Sei saw Allen's shift in his step as he noticed the whispering. Sei sighed softly to himself as he slowly left the Path family gate. Allen told the guard to leave his horse to rest because it was sick. Sei smiled, knowing that the two would be riding the same horse.
Sei acquired his weapons and climbed on to his waiting steed. He held out his hand to Allen to help him up.
“We can leave as soon as you are ready.” Sei said roughly, teasingly.
“I'm read, I'm ready.” Allen groaned as he took Sei's hand and was helped up to take a seat on the horse in front of Sei.
Sei was seated far back enough on his saddle to give Allen plenty of room. Sei grabbed the reins and his horse. Knowing what to do, the painted horse slowly trotted as he left the estate grounds.
When the horse and its riders were in the cover of the forest, the horse broke off into a gentle run. Allen sighed as he relaxed back and fell purposely into Sei. Sei chuckled as he leaned forward and lightly pecked Allen's ear.
“Is young Master Path supposed to slouch?” Sei teased.
“Don't call me that…just call me Allen, Sei.” Allen whined after being called young Master Path. He really did despise that name.
“You know I was teasing. You should lighten up a little bit.” Sei chuckled as he let go of the reins with his left hand and wrapped it around Allen's waist.
“Sei…could we…could we stop—” Allen began.
“I know, I remember to stop there. It is still a little ways a head up the road.” Sei replied with a gentle smile.
The place that the two were talking about was the first place they became more the just friends. It was a spot treasured by the two of them. He spot was by a small shallow stream. Small fishes and tad polls swam through the gentle waters. Frog bits clustered the waters and gave plenty of resting spots for bugs and frogs alike. Butterflies, bees, and small birds collected polled from the nearby flowers. The flowers were slowly dieing as fall had already began. Around the stream were large rocks being enough to sit on. The spot was relatively quiet. The tranquility of the moment was disturbed through when a brown and white painted horse slowly came to a stop, crunching some leaves as it moved.
“It's like it has always been.” Allen smiled as he felt Sei climbed off the horse behind him.
“Yeah.” Sei held out his hand to Allen. “My Prince?”
Allen chuckled as he took Sei's hand and was helped off the horse.
“Thank you.” Allen smiled as he jumped to the ground.
Before Allen could realize what was happening, Sei had lifted him off his feet and into Sei's arms.
“Sei? What are you doing?” Allen asked, not being able to suppress a giggle.
“My Prince should never be allowed to dirty his feet.” Sei smiled as he carried Allen over to rock by the shallow stream.
“Sei…” Allen whined as he was placed on a rock that kept his feet from touching the ground.
“Yes?” Sei asked as he turned and sough out a flower.
“What are you doing?” Allen asked, leaning forward on the rock to study Sei.
“Oh, but my Prince, I am doing nothing at all.” He turned around with a flower in his hand.
“Sei…” Allen playfully smiled as he watched Sei approach with a flower.
“A flower as delicate…just for you.” Sei said as he presented the freshly pick flower.
“You're not going to say, `I love you till the last petal falls'…are you?” Allen asked with a smile as he gently took the flower.
“No.” Sei simply said.
“No?” Allen was slightly taken a back. “Why not?”
Where are your gentle words, the words that make me happy?
“Why?” Sei smiled, “Allen, a flower dies, and all the petals fall. The love I have for you will not die. If I were to compare my love to anything, it would be to the ever burning sun.”
“Sei…” Allen couldn't help but smile.
You're always like this.
“You keep saying my name, but you never finish your thought.” Sei said as he leaned up and gently kissed Allen's Lips.
Allen blushed and took back his hands.
“Um…uh…” Allen stuttered.
I look like an idiot…
“You're adorable when you do that.” Sei smiled and gently nuzzled Allen's cheek with the tip of his nose.
Allen squealed as he pushed away from Sei. He tried to hide his face.
“Come on Allen…no need to be shy.” Sei teased as he grabbed Allen's hands and gently tugged them to his waist.
“Sei…” Allen's voice was a little more rushed.
“It's alright, no need to be afraid.” Sei said gently, slowly crawling onto the rock.
“Sei…” Allen said slightly louder.
“Shh…” Sei said softly.
Allen nodded and slowly relaxed into Sei. Sei slowly crawled into Allen's lap as he slowly began to deepen Allen and his kisses.
“No!” Allen yelled as he pushed back against Sei and struggled, “No Rei! Stop!”
Sei fell back off the rock. His back curved with the rock and his legs stuck out above him in odd angles.
He still thinks of Rei even when it's me…
“I'm sorry…” Allen said quietly.
“No…it's fine.” Sei said with a soft smile.
“It's not…” Allen softly began to cry, “It's not…”
Sei slowly climbs back onto the rock and pulled Allen into his lap.
“I understand, it's okay.” Sei said softly and kissed Allen's temple.
Allen nodded and continued to cry. Their treasure spot was also the spot that Rei had taken Allen. Allen had always looked up to Rei. Rei was tall, dark, and handsome. Rei also had intelligence, he would never let his looks take advantage of him and let other assume anything about him. Rei, Sei, and Allen always hung out together. Rei had always been a little friendly with both Allen and Sei before, but the two never thought anything about it.
Allen loved Sei, and vise-versa. Rei was their friend. The two of them knew that Rei was in love with Tai-Li. Sei would always push Tai-Li to be with Rei, but they believe that Tai-Li was strict to his code and would not give Rei the time of day. Though, that was only half true. No one knew Tai-Li had a younger brother.
Allen's memories had come flooding back to him about Rei three weeks ago when he saw Tai-Shi. Allen kept it quiet from everyone though. Allen felt empty as he watched Tai-Li break down and the younger Kay look so hurt.
Allen hated remembering. He was spending the day with Rei that day. Allen decided to show Rei Sei's and his treasured spot. Rei was quiet as he held onto Allen as he pointed things out. Rei did say something about Allen being so small, like a cute little child. Allen didn't know how to take that until he was off the horse and saw a twisted smile on Rei's face as he looked up at the towering man.
“Allen, are you sure you're alright?” Sei asked softly.
Allen wiped his eyes and looked up towards Sei. “I'm alright.” He replied quietly.
“I'm not Rei…I know when to stop the first time you tell me to. Though, you have to remember to give me time to stop before you push me, alright?” Sei asked quietly as he gently hugged Allen.
“I know…I know you're not Rei…but it's hard when I get scared.” He said hardly above a whisper.
“I wont hurt you, I promise.” Sei said gently rocking Allen.
Allen nodded. He sighed, wanting to as a question, but not knowing how to word it.
“Allen?” Sei questioned as he looked down at Allen.
“Um…why do you push…Rei off onto Tai-Li?” Allen's voice was barely above a whisper.
Sei didn't reply right away. “I didn't want Rei to bother you anymore…”
“But…even so, what if Rei forced Tai-Li into what Rei did to me?” Allen asked forcefully, his voice a little bit stronger.
“Tai-Li wouldn't' allow it. He's not the type.” Sei paused. “I know it is horrible to pass him off onto someone else…but I don't want you hurt again.”
“I understand…” Allen said softly.
The sound of a frog croaking and then a splash after that broken the two's train of thought. Allen leaned over the rock and Sei to get a better look.
“Look…” Allen said quietly as he pointed down at the water.
Sei looked over into the water and saw their reflections. He looked around to see what Allen was looking at, but couldn't see it.
“See?” Allen asked as he turned and smiled at Sei.
“See what Allen?” Sei asked as he lightly held onto him.
“No matter what goes on here…things still continue on…” Allen smiled as he reached over and stuck the tips of his fingers into the water.
“Time doesn't wait for anyone Allen.” Sei said as he looked through the clear water and saw tadpoles swimming away from Allen's fingers.
“I know…but at times, I wish we could stop it…if only for just a little while.” Allen sighed.
“Yeah…” Sei paused, “If I could stop time…I'd would have never let what Rei do anything of the things he did…I would have never pushed him off onto anyone…I would—”
“Shh…” Allen said as he leaned back up and pushed his wet index finger to Sei's lips.
“Allen…your finger's wet!” Sei said as he lightly pushed Allen's hand away and rubbed his mouth dry. “Frogs have—”
Allen pouted, “It's just water…it's not going to kill you.”
Sei sighed, “Never mind…”
“We better head over to Tai-Li's…since I have to be back before the sun sets.”
“Yeah.” Sei smiled as he leaned over and lightly kissed Allen's cheek.
Sei slowly stood and set Allen down off of the rock. He whistled for his painted to come, and it did. He mounted his horse and held his hand out to Allen, “Coming?”
“Of course.” Allen smiled as he hopped up onto the horse.
Sei and Allen rode for a short while before they saw the gates to the Kay clan estate. The home was elegant, stone stairs leading up to the main building. At the bottom though were a few guards.
“Stop! State your names and business here.” The guard on the right said.
“I'm Sei Mori from the Mori clan.”
“And I'm Allen Path of the Path family.”
“We've come to meet and speak with the young master.” Sei said confidently, not letting the guards know that he was nervous.
The Kay clan always made Allen and Sei nervous. The family didn't really contribute to the other clans. No one really knew what the Kay clan did besides martial arts. Maybe there was something the Kay clan knew about, that none of the other clans did…
One of the guards had left to climb the steps. As the guard disappears, Allen glanced up and saw a small boy from behind a tree on the hill. Allen swallowed hard as he watched Tai-Shi disappear out of sight.
At the top of the stairs stood the young Master of the estate.
“Let them pass.” Tai-Li coldly said as he turned. “Lead them to the back. I'll be on the porch near my room.”
Tai-Li left and the guards did what they were told. Sei dismounted his horse and Allen followed shortly after him. The two slowly climbed the steps, familiar with the surroundings of the rocks and trees. Allen watched the tree from where he saw Tai-Shi before he disappeared, hoping maybe he would still be there. Though, when they passed, the blond haired boy was no longer there.
The guards finally stopped as they stood silently in the garden behind the estate. Tai-Li leaned against the wall of his home as he stared blankly down at his feet.
“You're dismissed.” Tai-Li said to the gaurds.
The guards bowed and then went to return to their post. Sei and Allen bowed and approached the porch.
“You may sit…” Tai-Li sighed as he slowly slid down the wall until he was in a sitting position on the deck.
Allen and Sei nodded as they slowly took their seats in front of Tai-Li.

Author's Notes: All right, this is a side story; a bit of a chapter insert maybe? The reason why I'm calling it Frog Bits cause the story deals with a lot of Sei and Allen. For those out there that don't know what Frog Bits are…they are small plants that float on the water…I have a picture of them and I'll link it in later.
I really hope I hit upon a little more shonen then any other chapter… Allen's and Sei's relationship is delicate. For those you haven't caught on yet… Rei raped Allen before Bound Together took place. I may end up writing it later…maybe.
Now! Finally onto the next chapter! Something's going to happen again, and it's going to change the story line a bit. It will all happen in the next few chapters. For those who are getting tired of reading Bound Together, I'm drawing it to an end soon. I don't expect it go on any further then a little more then 20 chapters or a little less. I have up to chapter 12 laid out…and I still have a problem to resolve. Stay tuned.
