Karaoke Night I
The girls took over the hotel bar again. There was a karaoke
machine on the stage. Drink plus a karaoke machine equals go time.
Jenny rose to her feet.
"I'm singing tonight!" she shouted. The girls hollowed and clapped.
Jenny turned to the machine and put in the change.
"I'm singing Blondie tonight!" she shouted. The front woman waited
for the machine to start up. "The Tide is High" flooded the air.
Jenny broke into song on stage. Pink and purple lights flashed all
over her body as she danced. She shimmied her shoulders on the
line, "The tide is high, but I'm holding on." The girls clapped and
cheered from the crowd.
"Yeah, baby!" Ophelia shouted. "Whoo!" Jenny winked as she sang.
When the song ended, Jenny put down the microphone and walked off
stage.
"And that's how you do it!" she bragged. The front woman picked up
her glass and took another drink.
"More booze!" she shouted.
"Yay!" the girls cheered.
