Introducing
(Dean, the Now Named Stranger)
(Dean, the Now Named Stranger)
Airports;
They're crowded, gross and sweaty. I remember when I was a little girl, Holly, mum and I were taking a trip to America first class while dad stayed back to work out plans with another client. It was fun, I forget where we went exactly but I know it was somewhere in Florida, Holly-May and I were close than, like real sisters were. Things changed when we got older and I'm starting to regret the time I wasted avoiding my family.
I didn't struggle when Spencer took me through a back entrance in the airport; I think I was more worried about getting out of that crowded lobster tank than actually getting away. Spencer turned his head and nodded, maybe as if to say'smart move' for not screaming or drawing that unwanted attention. Did I have a choice? Scream and I'm dead as well as possibly other innocent people back in the airport, what good is getting away when I'm dead? What good would living do me when I had other people lives on my conscience?
I wish I could have been more like Holly-May at that very moment, shallow and selfish. She would have screamed the moment that security guard called out, he could have helped me. I had so many chances to get out, but why didn't I take them?
`That's an easy answer; it's because you're an idiot!' My brain screamed. I was rudely broken from my interesting train of thoughts by Spencer, who shook me rather harshly.
"What?" I snapped, tired of being thrown around like a piece of meat. Spencer's eyes narrowed my way as he pulled me along the landing bay.
"Dean wants you in the plane, now" he explained, emphasizing the word 'now'. I looked at him, my face contorted in that of a confused little girl. Spencer furrowed his eyebrows slightly at my lack of response, or the fact I stopped moving all together. "What? Are you stupid or something? Get in the plane!" he yelled, pointing to the small black jet like plane just metres ahead of us. I stood my ground; I was going to get answers even if it meant him having to use that horrible rag yet again.
"No, my mind is functioning perfectly at the moment. But tell me Spencer, what do you and your little playmates want with me?!" I screamed, hearing enough of his voice, and who was this 'Dean'?
Spencer looked nervous; he shook his head from either side as if to search out someone, he lifted his hands the same way Cole did in a defeated stance. I backed away before Spencer could lash out his hand and grab me; I turned around and started to run when I bumped into something hard. I fell to the ground again but this time Spencer didn't come to rip me back up, it was Stranger who I had bumped into, his hazel blue and brown eyes seemed to darken at the very sight of me.
"Going somewhere?" he growled and lifted his stare to give a glare at Spencer. Spencer backed away and muttered something about going back to the plane, he did a half walk and half run back to the small plane when Stranger waved him off. I was still on the ground at this point and scurried away, grazing my palms in the process. Stranger grabbed me by the forearm with such speed I gasped; he yanked me up which would definitely lead to yet another bruise on the same arm as before.
"Look I don't have time for your childish antics, we have to be in California before tomorrow morning and with the time difference we'll be lucky to make it" he snapped "So behave or I'll make you behave"
I had a funny feeling he would carry out his threats, so I shut my mouth while he shoved me onto the plane. He practically threw me into the nearest seat while he walked up and started chatting with a red headed fellow, his eyes were green and his form seemed small looking. I looked around; the plane was small, enough for about six passengers at a time. I saw Spencer in a seat up front just staring into space.
I jumped when I felt someone sit next to me; I looked over and saw Cole in the space that had just been vacant moments before. He smiled and dug himself deeper into the chair to get more comfortable "So, Miss. Glenn, how has your day been?" he asked, as if we had just met and he hadn't kidnapped me. I grunted in reply.
"Now, now, Miss. Glenn, no need to be all PMS moody on me now" he said, a chirp to his voice that made me feel very uneasy.
"You said 'now' three times" I informed him "And my names not Miss. Glenn, its Skye" I growled out. Cole smiled and ran a hand through his blond mane.
"Okay then. How about, Angel? Yes, Angel fits you nicely" he purred, reaching his hand over the armrest of the seat, I moved and bumped into the armrest next to me. I was trapped.
Cole's eyes widened as he was suddenly jerked back, Spencer had him by the collar of his shirt. Cole glared and ripped Spencer's arm away before growling something out, getting up and walking away. I had never been so glad to see this man; he had possibly just saved me from being someone's play toy. He sat down in the seat Cole had just been in; he looked my way briefly before looking away again "Sorry about that" he muttered.
"No problem" I muttered back, afraid to cross any boundaries. He looked at me again, this time longer before speaking.
"What's your name?" he asked, slouching in his seat.
I was shocked, he kidnapped me and didn't even know my name "Skye" I answered simply.
"Skye, who?"
What was with this guy? I pictured my mother scowling for now speaking my full name; he must be here to take that role or something "Skye-Alysha" I answered, tired and annoyed. Spencer smiled and murmured something along the lines of "Pretty"
I blushed and turned my head "Why am I here?" I finally asked. Spencer turned his head, a darkness forming in his dark eyes.
"I can't tell you that, not now anyway"
I nodded, if I prodded now he probably wouldn't answer me at all "Who was that guy before?" I asked. Spencer looked confused.
"What guy? Cole?"
"No, the other one" I explained. Spencer seemed to register.
"Oh, Dean, is that who you mean? He's the supervisor in this" Spencer explained. I looked at him with confusion but at least my stranger had a name now. Dean. Why did that name seem so familiar? Maybe it was because of it was a common name; at least three guys in my class had the name Dean.
"You need a supervisor… for a kidnapping?" I asked, Spencer laughed at this but stopped after I gave him a filthy look.
"Kidnapping? Skye, I don't know where your facts are coming from. Kidnapping is taking someone away from their families against their will, well maybe we did take you against your will but--” he stopped suddenly, a look of panic running across his features "Forget it" he muttered and got up, leaving me alone with my thoughts. Who was 'Dean' exactly in all this?
`What's going on?' I asked myself, the plane took off and I didn't see any of the guys for a while. I fell asleep for the rest of the trip, dreaming of my friends back home and how worried Bec and my parents must be. A tear slipped down my cheek as I slept… I wanted to go home.
