Angels
Katsuya tried to look for a way to get back to the land of the dead. He figured the best way would be through a temple. And then, well, see from there. “Right,” the lt. thought. “To a temple I go!” Katsuya began his journey. The temples in Jade City had become hidden. They had to be. Otherwise, everything and everyone involved with the temple would face utter temple. These temples were well hidden too.
The technique to hiding a temple varied depending on the priest. Some went deep underground. Others hid in plain sight from the soldiers. One would have to have a good eye to spot out the temples. Katsuya knew how to spot one out. Even better, he knew where one was right now! “Good enough!” he thought. The lt. headed right to his way.
The path of choice was a simple one. Through a back way alley, through a tea garden, up three flights of stone stairs, right past the tea shop, through the willow trees, and into the abandoned wild gardens. It took Katsuya thirty minutes to get there. He stood right before it. The temple stood before him proud and strong. Red as far as the eye could see. Ancient Japan ran free here. Katsuya felt as if he had stepped back into time in this place. Only thing missing was the cherry blossoms. Katsuya smirked to himself. “Hasn't changed since we raided the place!” he thought. Then, the lt. headed inside.
The scent of burning incense filled the room. Every religious item under the sun sat in the building. The color red heavily invaded everything. Katsuya looked around. “I needed some sort of an object to help get back,” he thought. The lt. looked around some. An altar sat up ahead looking bold and mighty. The lt. smiled at the results.
“Good enough,” he said to himself. Katsuya began walking up towards the altar. Suddenly, he became distracted be something in front of him.
A young girl knelt praying in front of the altar. She looked pretty cute. He jet black-blue was held back into a tight little bun. The girl wore a simple baby blue yutaka. Katsuya felt as if he had seen her before. He slowly walked over to her for a better look. The lt. peeked over at her profile. Shock met his face.
“Kamiya Faith?” he thought in surprise. He began to remember her right away. Five years ago, Katsuya and his troops raided this very temple. They arrested many people and stole the goods inside. Katsuya kidnapped Faith and held her hostage in his barracks. He placed her onto his bed. She struggled to try and escape.
“Listen sweetheart,” the then warrant officer hissed at her. “They'll lock your dad up for treason and kill him. But I'll put in a word to let him go if you give your virginity right now!” The girl glared at him coldly.
“Never!” she hissed. Katsuya smirked at her.
“But you have no choice really,” he replied. “You love your dad, right? I'm the only one that could save him. Only if you give it up to me!” Faith spat on him in rely. Uchida got angry.
“You bitch!” he snapped. Katsuya slapped her right in the face. The poor girl went out cold. The warrant officer decided she wasn't worth it after all. The girl escaped later that night. Katsuya didn't care. “More trouble than she's worth!” he thought.
Looking back, the lt. felt sheepish about the whole thing. He suddenly wanted to make it up to her. But how? Then, an idea came into his head. “I'll watch over her staring today!” he thought. So, Katsuya knelt down in front of the altar next to Faith and pretended to pray. She didn't notice him at all. The ghost smirked to himself. “This angel stuff could work after all!” Katsuya thought boldly. Then, he continued to pretend to pray.
Meanwhile above, Gabriel watched the soul in the act. Usually, he would be mad at this sort of behavior. But this time, he had a great idea. “The girl could be great use to get him right track with the rebellion,” the angel thought. He quickly laid the plan down piece by piece. It all came together nicely. Now to set it into action for the mission.
