"Your magesty, we need your opinion on these documents." "What are they about?" "Taxes." "Ah...well, are the rich paying more in taxes then the poor?" "Well, no, they pay the same as the poor..." "Well theres the problem with taxes right there!" "Your magesty?" "The rich folk and the poor folk, pay the same amount, and I understand that taxes are not a fun thing, however, if Phantasma is going to continue to be a kind country, then there has to be a slight increase in taxes, but only for the wealthy." "What! Your magesty! That is..." "That is my decision! End of discussion! Next topic please." "Your magesty! You really must reconsider..." "Reconsider what? Creating a better life for all Phantasma's peopl and not just the wealthy?" "We understand what you are trying to do, however this is not what you should be doing." "Come again?" "Quite simply put, the wealthy are the people that you need to remain in command..." "I see, so you are saying Chancellor, that it is fine to tax both unwealthy and wealthy people the same amount, and now as I read this document, you wish for me to increase the taxes on the unwealthy, but not the wealthy, is that correct?" Yes, well..." "Chancellor, I am sorry that I do not do the things that your past queens have done, but if I recall something I heard during the masqurade ball, that one evening, this thanks giving coming will be Phantasma's fifth, am I not correct?" "Yes, you are, but..." "So if this is the fifth thanksgiving and the longest time that a queen had ruled since the curse was started, wouldn't that mean that the other queens were not doing what they were supposed to?" "Well..." "So wouldn't that mean that I am doing things thatare good for this country?" "Yes, but..." "Again I will say this, my decision is final, there will be a tax increase, however, only the rich will feel this increase, and not the unwealthy." "Your magesty..." "Now if there are no other things to discuss, I shall bud you all good-day." Yuna stood, "Oh, and I will be looking into the tax situation, from time to time and I expect that what I have decided is to be followed. Good-day gentlemen." Yuna left the room, two of her knights following her.
"So?" "You did quite well, with handling the situation," "If you mean that possibly causing the wealthy people, of whom her future as our queen is determined, if causing them to possibly become angry is handling the situation well, then I guess you did very well." "I'm sorry, but I can't do anything about taxes back in my world, and I've seen the results it has on unwealthy people, and I am not going to allow Phantasma to turn out like that." "Alright, but why not..." "I do hope you are not suggesting that I make people whoare barely able to support themselves to have to pay more taxes are you?" "Well, no, but..." "Hm...this wouldn't have anything to do with the fact that you, yourself, Ehren are one of those wealthy people, now would it?" "I..." "I see, well my decision is still made and I am not changing my mind. Now please leave, I am going to change into a more comfortable outfit." At first Ehren wouldn't leave, then was dragged out by Schiller.
"Ha, such selfishness throughout this land..." "There is quite a lot it of it, isn't there?" "Leave." "Now, now is that anyway to treat..." "Is that anyway to treat the man who, kidnaps me from my world, makes me the queen of a world that is not mine, where not only am I under watch, because of you, but also, it doesn't look like I' ever going to be able to go home and see my family, and now I am still currently awaiting the annoumncement of mine and Ehren's wedding. So tell me, how exactly shold I treat the man who has ruined my life?" "I see that you are overstressed, I'll leave you be, for tonight that is." Yuna turned her back to Reino as he left. "Don't come back here. If you do not remember, my knights are on the other side of those two doors, and are able to be in here in a flash if they heard that you were ever in here. Also with the wedding that is supposed to be coming up soon, Ehren is in here quite often, usually until I deside to turn in and go to bed." "I see." "Now go." Yuna went to her window and shut and locked it, to make sure no one was able to find their way into her room again.
"Hm..." She looked out over the misty horizon. She didn't really think that her life had been ruined, just part of it. Infact she actually liked Phantasma, which was the reason she was trying to make it a good country to live in, and to do that she ahd to make sure that all the people in it were living happily. "You know, its a really nice night out tonight. Not too hot and not too cold, just right." While looking out the window, Yuna thought of something. She needed a break and she was determined to get one, even if that meant that no one else would know about it. So while everyone believed she was sleeping peacefuly, Yuna disguised herself and left the palace.
