“Thank god, that's over!” You said walking out of the rink. The interview had gone smooth, and now you had to wait to see if you could get the job. You hopped in your car and drove back to the library to pick up Carla. When you drove into the parking lot, you noticed the same strange man in the black hooded cloak. You parked and walked up to the man. “Excuse me, do you know me? I think I remember you from somewhere but-,” before you could finish, he cut you off. “I will see you again during the full moon, when you need me the most. Until then, farewell Alexia, my Lady.” he said and in a puff of black smoke, he disappeared. “Weird.” you thought.

You walked into the library and found Carla at one of the large tables reading the dustiest, biggest, oldest book in the library. “What are you reading?” you asked. “I found the book that I was looking for. Look,” she showed you the cover “It says `The Lost Religion of the Dark Children', I'm just going to check this out and we can go, ok?” you sighed “Ok, but hurry up.” She smiled and went to the clerk to check out the book. You walked out and headed for your black Lexus and hum a tune to yourself, something that just popped in your head. The words were in your head, but only a hum escaped your lips. “In the garden filled with the night roses, strays the Lady of darkness, she sings and prays to each of the flowers, hoping to awake them from their deep slumber, during the full moon under the stars…” the song in your head kept going, but your humming was stopped. “Hey, fancy meeting you here.” said an annoying voice. “Hello Rick.” You murmured. You hated him, the kid with the most annoying attitude, but the most handsome face… and the richest boy from school. And You hated his guts! “What are you waiting for?” he asked, smirking. “For someone to come out of the library so I can ditch you.” You blurted out. He just smiled and said “Why do you resist me?” You glared at him “Get away from me or I will run you over by accident.” Just then, Clara walked out of the library “Ok, ready to go!” she said. “About time!” You shouted. She looked at Rick and back at you “Where'd he come from?” she asked, pointing. “Just get in the car!” you ordered. She hopped in your car, smiling. Youdrove out of the parking lot and sighed “God, I hate him.” She didn't hear me, but said “Where did you get that mark on your shoulder from again?” You rolled your eyes “I told you, I've had it ever since I could remember.” you said. “Oh.” She looked back at the book and started reading again. “What about the other book you were looking for?” you asked. “It was already checked out.” she sighed. You dropped her off at her apartment and went back home.
You finished eating dinner and you sat down on the couch and turned on the TV. You flipped through the channels until you realized nothing good was on, then you went out in the backyard and looked at the stars. The song from earlier came back to your head and you started to hum again. Suddenly you heard something in the bushes and stopped. You scanned the row of plants near the fence and caught something rush by. You fixed your gaze on it and inched closer. Something told you that it wasn't anything that you had seen before, and you were determined to find out what it was. You heard a low growl coming from inside the bush. You squatted down and pushed some of the shrub aside to reveal a small fox-like creature. It tried to get as far away from you as possible, but one of its legs was injured. You ran back inside and got a blanket, then You carefully picked up the fox and brought it inside. You got a bowl of water and filled up a plate with some meat and set it down beside it, after a few minutes, it took the food and water. When it was done, you helped it with its wounds as much as it would let you. After a few hours, it fell asleep. You put it on a bed of towels in the spare room and went to bed. As you lay there in the grey sheets, you thought of the fox. “Kazuko.” you said to yourself “That will be his name.” And with that, you fell asleep.
You eyes slowly opened and your vision cleared. You saw that the door was open and thought “I could have sworn that I had locked it last night.” You slowly sat up and looked at the foot of your bed and gasped. There, curled up at your feet, was the fox from last night. You could now see that its fur was pure white and its paws and nose were black, along with a crescent on its forehead. “How the heck did he get in here?” you thought. It stretched and yawned and sat up. “Morning.” you said. It seemed to understand what you said because it nodded. You noticed that it had silver, not grey, eyes that glistened and left you in awe. It leapt of the bed and went into the hallway; you climbed out from under your covers and grabbed a robe. You went downstairs and saw that Kazuko had the plate that you used for his food in front of him and he sat patiently next to the kitchen. “Hungry?” you smiled. He made a small whimper and you went to get him some more scraps of meat. He ate them up and you filled up a bowl with water and set it beside him. Then you went to make some pancakes and eggs for myself. When you had finished eating, the phone rang. You picked it up “Hello?” you asked. “Alex! Can you come pick me up, I want to show you this thing that I found in the book last night!” said Clara. Knowing that you really had no way out, you answered “Alright I'm coming.” You hung up the phone and grabbed your keys. “I'll be right back.” you said to Kazuko. He nodded and you left.
