“It was something…”
“We're not going with…!”
“My child, we all…”
“See that witch…”
“Be important, gotta…”
“Get going son, I hope…”
“You make it as you…”
“Believe in…”
Juugan's eyes snapped open, his body gasping for breath as he looked down at his last opponent's dead body, clawed and bleed to death, the only way to win it seemed at the time. He had to use his berserker skills once more, to test his might against this wretched soldier. Soldiers had killed his father! He could never forgive soldiers for what they done…
He walked out of the building in which his enemy was hiding with a big gun waiting for him, looking around for any more enemies before going closer to a rather tall building. He entered inside, and went up the stairs, slowly though as his breathing became apparent, ragged and long. He climbed to the top, onto the roof and stepped next to the open door he came from, and laid against the wall, a hand coming up and holding his arm.
Juugan groaned as he slid down, and as he did, above him on the wall, appear red stains…His blood. Juugan took away his hand and looked at it, and through his vision, it was blurry as he seen his own blood. He held his arm again and scrunched his legs slightly, trying to rest as he thought on healing his bullet-wounded body. Nothing was right here, not even the current fight… Of survival.
He thought of what the soldier said to him, he thought of what happened to make him hesitate…He was in so much blinded rage, he didn't feel his wounds till the end, he couldn't remember everything at all, even before it was time to go berserk.
It did take awhile of rest for it all to come back again…
Flashback
Juugan slowly awoke, and was in a very dark place, a hotel maybe from the bed he was in. He got up and held his aching head, before looking around. In a seat at the end of the room, sat an orange coat, and under it were a tail and ears… He was interrupted from his thoughts when a voice came from nowhere. “Good evening…Your body should be blown to bits right now from what I saw, but it's a wonder you're even awake, let alone alive”
He looked over at a man in black looking out of the window. Rellik was his name, he knew this man from the subway. “How long have I been out?” Rellik turned with hard eyes. “At least three hours, and your awake again. After dark came I moved again, and saw you out in the street, and we decided to help, after all. You got rid of that blasted statue for us.”
After conversations were exchanged, and a few laughs at jokes of Rellik, Juugan thanked them and went off, still slightly weary. He recovered enough when daylight shown, and decided to grab a bite to eat. Sadly, after starting to eat some grub, it was blown away from his hands, and he ran out of that spot quick, and got cover behind a wall.
He looked around the corner for a brief second to catch a glimpse at what happened, only to have dust rise, as part of the wall beside his eye became shattered. He covered his eye but knew he had no time, and just kept it closed. Dust was caught in it, and now he was handicapped. He decided to listen for awhile…
He heard a noise coming from the direction he looked at, and it was footsteps, as if getting closer to him. The enemy was running, closer, then farther, as if going down steps. Juugan looked around, and found a closer building for cover, and ran quick to it, trying to catch this enemy off guard, only for a crack of dirt pop from beside him, but he kept running and got behind the wall. He cursed under his breath, but used his ears again, no footsteps at this moment…
Juugan heard them again and looked around once more, seeing a chance to come into a clearing and prepare him. He started to run, but right as he was about to enter halfway to his target, a barrage of dust flew around him, and he stopped, looking at the object of fire…In green Camo, and in his hands a gun, stood a soldier. This man smiled. “I caught you, little vermin! I'm just glad it was me…”
The man seemed to know what he was doing, and seemed to have made a move to follow Juugan out this far. “You're a fast little bugger, I'll give you that, but I watched your matches, very closely. So now I found the perfect place to kill you, and rid the world of your evil torment!” Juugan growled slightly. “Why do you want me?!” “Because, you're evil, and as the righteous hand of heaven, I shall strike you hard and fast, and kill your beastly intent. You won't destroy us…”
Juugan didn't understand until he realized this man was a trained military human! “So your kind is here too… I didn't think I'd have to fight against my mortal enemies here. Why do you hate my kind so much? Why do you insult and tear my were-families to shreds…WHY DO YOU TORMENT ME WITH DREAMS OF SUFFERING!!!!” Juugan raised his hand quick and pointed two finger's at the soldier, his thumb stuck between them.
The soldier saw something about to happen and raised his gun to fire among this fox, only for something to slice right through his shoulder. He saw with fear in his eyes as his shoulder was almost ripped apart with a giant hole in it. Juugan shot an energy stake through him…
This soldier didn't stop from his pain, he let it fuel him even more as he fired his automatic rifle at the fox, but the spot was empty as the fox ducked and ran to the side entering the clearing he was moving to, to begin with. Juugan hid in the shadows, his fur providing perfect chameleon invisibility in the dark alley. His thought's on how to win could wait as his red blood would give him away, so he pressed hard on his neck where a small gash was made from barely dodging the fire seconds ago.
He could wait to heal as well; for now he needed to stop this man from killing him…He closed his glowing eyes as he saw his predator enter the yard, covered by shadow from the tall buildings. He thought of weaknesses that soldiers had, and found there were few to think of… “Those weapons kill very fast if used right, but their usage is limited to `ammo” I believe it's called. His clothing can't carry much ammo I saw, but soldiers are also known to be great at hand-to-hand combat…and I think their proud of their skills.”
His thoughts were interrupted for a second as he heard gunshot's being fired in front of him. He opened one eye very carefully to see and he did, finding the soldier ahead firing in the shadow area's. “Come out you filthy little animal…Or I'll just fire everywhere and not leave you to hide at all…I will find you!!” as he finished, so did his gun as he had to reload a magazine. Juugan was glad he was starting over there; it would give him some time to think…Although his only chance of survival meant to rid the soldier of those guns.
Juugan had come up with a plan….
The soldier reloaded his M5 and fired a short burst of rounds at the corner wall, and moved over, firing a few more until he was at a steady pace. After he used half of his clip he stopped and listened around him, for any signs of movement….Silent. “I know you're still alive you stupid creature…” Juugan's eyes shot open in front of him, bright as day and the soldier fired the other half of his clip in reaction, only to see nothing anymore.
He looked down and didn't see anything… no blood. “So you're quick on your feet huh?” he smirked, reloading another clip into his rifle… “Well take a load off and…DIE!!” To those words he fired, from corner to corner of the facing wall in hopes of destroying this animal for good. The back wall was a trap between him and the exit; he had the upper hand he thought.
He reloaded fast and looked around firing one shot at a time for light as he saw his progress…Nothing at all! He checked the exit and saw Juugan standing there smirking at him. “You've only got one more round of that before you're out asshole…” The soldier smiled greatly. “You're not thinking that this gun is the only weapon I have do you?”
He raised his gun and fired the last of his ammo, before throwing his empty gun to the ground. “I've got four limbs and twenty appendages to kill you with…” He raised his dukes and got ready for battle. Juugan's smirk faded quickly. “Don't get your hopes up, you crummy human…I've been trained in your human arts of combat, and I'll have you know I made some modifications to those arts…”
Juugan stood firm as his claws grew from his fingers. It would be a fight for his family, one that would make his father proud. He heard his father's words ring in his head…. “it was something…That fight against the Humans…Sorry my son, for leaving you like this, but I must go... it is my time to leave you to be a man…But do not hate the Humans for what they did... And do not get revenge for our sacrifice…We made it on our own accord. Live well, my son.”
Juugan searched his soul for the will to beat his opponent… “Father, this is for my own will, I want to make you proud and I want to make up for not being there beside you in battle… I shall not hate this human for what he did to you, but I will hate him for hating me!”
He opened his eyes to see the screaming face of his human opponent, swinging at him with his combat knife. “DIE YOU RAT!!” Juugan backed away, as his cheek was cut open with little success. Juugan flipped back for space before scanning their surroundings, and finding a good spot to catch the soldier off guard. The soldier was grinning from ear to ear, switching his blade between each hand. “Your not gonna live with that reaction…”
Juugan ran in a small curve towards his opponent trying to find some weakness in the soldier's demeanor. He saw the knife rising to cut his throat, but he dodged the blade by ducking down, but his arm hooked the soldiers, and tried to turn, only to have the knife get stuck in his back, stung through a lung. He coughed up his blood before ducking down off the blade and rolled between the legs, and jumped, upper-cutting the soldier into the air.
He twisted himself, finding a bearing to land a blow, but once his leg struck, it was caught in a hold by the soldier, and when they landed Juugan rose and kicked up to free himself, and it worked, but not the way he hoped, as the soldier let go to dodge his next blow. The soldier took this as an opportune moment, and kicked up as the fox landed on his hands, trying to flip back to gain spacing.
Juugan though, was not ready to quit, and in a quick reaction, rose his hands to guard against the hard kick, and was forced up onto his feet by the soldier, who was recovering from the nasty blow he was giving. Juugan took this as his own and planted a food into the gut of the soldier and the soldier hit the wall, and before falling to the ground was pinned by the thick bladed claws of Juugan. “Now your going to die, you nasty human…Any last words?”
He smiled, chuckling as he ignored his pain. “You know, I see the resemblance now…Your old man was the last to die in the Amazon battle, and I'm glad to say I killed him…Hand-to-hand… It would be a shame to kill you the same way, as your weaker then him…” Juugan was in shock now, let his guard down as the memories flooded him…
Before he could snap out of it himself, he was forced to as a gunshot was fired…he looked down and saw the gun pointed to his chest…and smoke rising…Juugan's claws retracted and he fell to his knee's…in vein…his efforts in vein for so long, and he thought he could do it…
He heard the words come back to him again, in a blaze of glory… “We're not going with you boy! You're just too strong! You need to protect those who understand, not us…so stay alive for us ok? Your mom would want you to live…” Big hammer had told him, keeping him in the village alone and then dying beside his father…It had him crying as his heart beat rapidly to keep the blood flowing inside him even with the wound.
He looked up in tears to see the soldier's handgun pointed at his head. He smirked menacingly. “You see, it all works out in the end… I get to kill your nasty kind, and you get to see your family and friends again in hell… Now what were that old guy's words...oh yeah…'My Child, we all loved, is still alive you asshole, and he's going to rid the world of your nasty kind, because it's you who give humans a bad name.' and now his word's backfire…Bye you filthy animal…” And he was done, as his finger squeezed the trigger.
Just before the shot was fired though Juugan leaned back and kicked the soldier's legs out from under him, which caused the bullet to fly, but his the punctured lung, and not anything vital. Juugan kicked the soldier's head out of the way and quickly got up onto his own two legs, quickly as to fight again. His breathing heavy, but his spirit ready as if renewed, it was time to finish this.
The soldier stood up, grunting with a face of anger. “You filthy creature, how dare you use a sneak attack on me…” Juugan backed it. “And how dare you pull a gun on me… Where's your pride? Fight like a man…” The soldier threw his gun to the side, and his knife thrown, stuck in the barrel as to not use the gun ever again.
In a quick session, they grappled one another, fighting for control of the other's strength, grunting with glares and grinding teeth, their power exceeding beyond normal capacities, and it was time for one to win. Juugan back his arms a bit with his body rearing for an attack, and that was the soldier's first mistake, following through…Juugan's head smashed against the soldier's nose badly, and broke it, but Juugan didn't stop, as he slammed a punch in the chin, throwing the soldier back and down again. Juugan stood still. “Get up…”
The soldier got on a knee before shifting it and trying a trip kick, and working as Juugan fell to the ground. The soldier grabbed onto the falling arm and his legs supported the rib's to obtain control of the fox. Juugan Screamed for a moment before turning, and grabbing hold of a foot, getting it off his neck as his body slid under, but he made sure to raise his arm over, and in a split second, smashed his elbow into the leg, fracturing the bone slightly. He let go of Juugan but the soldier didn't stay down, and got up quick.
Juugan was hurt, bad, and heaving as his body was giving out... He thought now was the only time… he had to think of everything bad, even in his own village. “See that witch? That's the ugly ass bitch who gave Juugan power. Almost as ugly as his mom, HAHAHAHA!!” his strength grew in rage at those words, his rage controlling...
“Be important, gotta be a trick, cause Juugan ain't nothin' special, even his mom could do better, and she as a wimp!! HAHAHA!”
“Believe in THIS asshole, your dad isn't anything compared to us! Your tribe is nothing! Not even a pebble!”
“You make it as simple as can be, you're not even a warrior, no one there is... and you wanted training? Nothing will help you!!!”
That had done it, the final straw…HE'S BERSERK!!
Juugan roared with passion as he gave the onslaught of his attack way, and gave the soldier everything he had…His claws ripped open the soldier's lung, his feet braking his arm's, and his jaw biting off a leg, not letting off as the soldier cried for mercy…He make sure the soldier was dead before he stopped, clawing his way into the body and ripping out the spine, and finding the heart… and with a single strike, punched it into the gravel it went ten feet into the earth…
He stopped, breathing heavy as his body calmed down from his angry berserker slaughter. Juugan stood, heaving with an eye closed from his fatigue, and his back slouched. Juugan had avenged himself for not being there for his friends and family. He felt satisfied now, to kill the one who hated him so to kill him, and to kill the one who killed his family, and not for revenge, but for pride, and for the spirit of his tribe. He did it to protect their pride and honor. And he smiled, looking into the sky with a teary eye.
He remembered the words…that made him happy. “Get going son, I hope you become a fine man, and I know, you will bring us honor one day…Thank you, and I love you son…Juugan Kenjoko Fox…The Were-Fox of Amazon.” He stood on his feet, holding his shoulder that was shot from the cornering fire in the field. He walked away, to a building as the sun-set in front of him. He got on the roof of a building and slept, knowing his wounds would heal naturally and knowing full well. He would live on for his people.
Juugan Kenjoko Fox, the Were-Animal of the Amazon would live and fight another day, and would meat his family one last time before he gone back to rebuild his clan.
Unknown to Juugan, there were two figures above him, one animal, another human, and both watching him closely before jumping away…
