Quinn peered through the small gap between the sewer and the tunnel floor. She closed it shut quietly, “Nothing, they haven't discovered the tunnels yet.”

Barb nodded and Quinn lifted the lid and slowly slid it, trying to be as quiet as she could. Turning around she stared down at Barb as she handed her the guns before she climbed up the ladder herself. “I'm going to go into the security room, you go into the artillery room and pack everything, take Carlos and J,” Barb ordered in a whisper.

Quinn nodded, Carlos and J following her into the room. “Try to be as quiet as possible,” J reminded as they began to open up empty duffel bags and maneuver as many guns in there as possible.

Barb entered the room almost five minutes later, sighing as she rubbed her eyes, “It looks like the vehicles are all fine. The only problem is the zombies.”

How many?” Quinn asked.

Lots,” Barb muttered, “too many to count.”

Quinn grumbled a few curses. “We'll have to wait down here for Shane's squad to give us the okay, and then we'll clear only the path to the vehicles, we will drive straight to the gated community.”

What about the appliance center then?” J asked.

That's our HQ not our start point,” Quinn explained, “we need somewhere that has the resources to watch over our mission, and asses. The starting point though, has to be somewhere small and gated so we know we have a fail safe in case anything were to happen.”

J nodded, understanding it now before she turned on her radio, knowing she couldn't say anything to it.

Shane uses a head piece, he's got his own frequency,” Carlos admitted. Quinn nodded, “Tell him we're waiting for his okay, we'll drive to the gated community.”

She left the room, walking back into the security room to locate how far away they were from the vehicles.

Shane says they're in the sewer underneath the center, it's a clear walk all the way there, no zombies,” Carlos explained from the hallway.

Tell him we'll move out then,” Quinn let out.

Pulling her cell phone out from her pocket she dialed Mike's number.

You still have my number?” He asked almost shocked.
Quinn chuckled, “Text the gate code from Branson's father to my cell phone please. We're going to drive out there.”

On it, everything okay?” He asked, and she could tell that there was something else that he wanted to talk about.

Not now,” she grumbled, “the code.”

Hanging up she sighed and looked at the security video monitors.

Zombies were combing through the warehouse they'd kept the refugees, none had made it into Barb's house, although they were awaiting them by pounding against the doors.

The easiest way would be to go to the second story of my house, cover from here, pick as many as we can off,” Barb said quietly.

Quinn debated the idea, “I was thinking that too, but the sounds could attract more.”

Carlos shuffled in and leaned his chin on Quinn's shoulder, observing the monitor screens. “What if two of us cover fire from the dining room windows, while two others get the vehicles, we can drive it here and get the two and then drive out,” he explained.

Then they'll just follow us, all the way to the community?” Quinn grumbled, not liking the idea.

Barb nodded, “Best idea we got.”

Quinn only nodded, “Carlos will operate the vehicle, I know he's trained for that, J and I will cover fire the two of you.”

Barb nodded, “Get set up then and give us the okay, we need to make this as quick as possible.”

J and Quinn only left, turning on their heels to race through at a slow jog. They both paused at the door, Quinn getting her semi-automaic hand gun out and tightening her hands around it.

J's hand slowly pushed it open and she whispered a small clear when the first room was empty. The front door was still locked from the inside. “They haven't gotten inside yet,” she added quietly.

They both seemed to levitate up the stairs, trying to be as discrete as possible, their feet softly hitting the carpet as the shut the door behind them, and blocked it with a chair. “Just in case,” she noted.

He only nodded with a smirk.

She slowly slid the window open, only the muzzle of her gun showing as looked through the scope. Quinn brought the radio to her lips, “They're going through the refugee warehouse. The tank and jeep are salvageable,” she whispered, “we can give you cover fire when you tell us to start, if you drive around the back, we can enter quickly.”

She listened to J, filling the magazine with rifle ammo, before clicking it into place and cocking it back. He had a bolt-action rifle, and she couldn't help but watch as he got it ready while waiting for a response.

We're going now,” Barb returned, “we'll drive to the community, you two get in the Jeep, J on the gun.”

The zombies went from being completely silent, to squaking like vultures fighting over a dead, rotting body. J cursed as his gun echoed, the bullet whizzing through the air before penetrating a zombies head.

Quinn quickly followed suit, watching as the scattered zombies began to reunite into one crowded mound of flesh before Carlos and Barb ran to the tank. Their assault rifles lit up the sky, the fire echoing through Quinn's headphones.

They're getting into the house!” Barb shouted, `They pushed open the door.”

J cursed. “You're better aim, I'll back up,” he responded quickly, pulling his secondary M4 out to turn his back on her, facing the door.

Quinn inhaled a deep breath, taking aim before firing. Blood splattered against the tank as Carlos stepped in and looked at her thankfully. The engine roared to life as Barb climbed into a different army jeep.

O-Open the window, we're not getting through this door,” J said from behind her. Turning around she saw what he saw. The door being rattled against. J had pushed dressers and flipped the bed frame against it, but all of it was shaking under the pressure.

Barb we can't get downstairs, we're going to have to go through the window,” Quinn whispered.

Carlos, Quinn you ride with Carlos, J, have him get on the gun of my jeep,” she ordered. Quinn began to put away her sniper rifle, pulling her MP5 close to her as they jogged downstairs. When they made there way outside zombies had begun to cling to both the tank and the jeep. J started to run towards the jeep while Quinn climbed through the sea of dead bodies. The blood splattered against the boot as Carlos covered her with practiced shots.

Let's go!” She shouted in to the tank radio. Carlos closed the lid and she could hear the eerie banging against the steel. She watched as Carlos began to put in directions and she honestly had no idea what he was doing. The gadgets displayed on the dashboard were things she'd never heard of.

Shane, come in,” Carlos spoke into the radio, “we're on our way to the community.”

Shane chuckled as he came over the radio, “Yes ma'am, we've welcomed ourselves into Best Buy, Miss is over at the gun store trying to create shit we can use in the tank. I can't believe the shit that stores have, it has a fucking RPD!”

Don't giveaway your position,” Carlos warned him, “if you do this whole plan goes to shit.”

Oh yea, about that whole sewer thing...” he trailed off. Quinn had a bad feeling about the way his voice sounded regretful. “There's an underground storage unit in the food store, they use it for the cooler, guess what? It connects to the sewer if we knock out a wall. It'll be easy access and its side doors connect to both the mighty Best Buy and the gun shop.”

Quinn smiled at him, “Go to town, you should barricade the stores first and wait til we're closer so we can bring you back up. Insulate the room first, then go to town.” She added the last part in a hurry.

Carlos chuckled as Shane shut down his connection to him. “Barb are you okay?” Carlos asked, “You should drive ahead of me.”

Barb came over the radio with heavy breath, “Why can't they walk? We're going ahead of you, we have to stay above thirty, they keep getting on. We'll speed up and get to the community before you so we can secure it. Give me the key code.”

Carlos handed the radio to Quinn who clicked it on, “The key is 5 6 3 9 6 then you hit the enter button.”

Carlos if Quinn don't make it back I'll castrate you and hang you on a fishing rod to give t the zombies,” she said before ending her connection as well. They saw the jeep go by on their tank camera screen. Carlos chuckled as they watched the zombies run passed them, attempting to catch up to the jeep.
