A New Beginning With A Touch Of The Past

 

It's around the early hours of the morning. The sun shines throw Rachel Malone's room, she rolls over in bed and covers her head with her pillow. All of a sudden the alarm clock goes off. Rachel jolts up and looks at the clock on her nightstand. It reads 7:30am.

“Ah…I'm going to be late for my new job.” Rachel screamed.

Rachel jumps out of bed, she gets dressed, she grabs a cereal bar and heads out the door to Reilly's Italian Plaza. The manger Reilly Olsen is standing outside with his arms across his chest and he's tapping his foot on the ground.

“You're late Miss Malone.” Reilly yelled.

“I'm really sorry but I overslept.” Rachel said.

Reilly walks inside with Rachel right behind him.

“Could I get everyone to come here?” Reilly asked.

All the staff come over.

“You called boss.” a pretty young lady answered.

“This is your new employer Rachel Malone.” Reilly said.

Everyone smiles at Rachel. A man around Rachel's age steps forward, he puts out his hand and shakes Rachel's hand.

“Hi there my name is Calvin Joshua Gordon but please call me C.J.” the young man replied.

“It's nice to meet you.” Rachel said.

“Could you come with me?” Reilly asks looking at Rachel.

Rachel nods her head.

“Yeah sure I can.” Rachel answered.

Reilly and Rachel walk off.

C.J. watches them go.

“Wow she's so pretty.” C.J. thinks to himself.

The other employers look at C.J.

“Are you in there C.J.?” a lady employer asked.

C.J. looks at the lady.

“Yeah sorry Mel I just lost in my thoughts.” C.J. answered.

Reilly and Rachel are outside talking. A few hours later Rachel is sitting at bar.

~Meanwhile on the side of the restaurant~

C.J. is sitting on a chair and another co-worker is sitting with him.

“What do you think of the new employer?” the other co-worker asked.

“She seems really nice but she also seems a little scare of something and I'm not sure what yet but I'll find out.” C.J. answered.

The other guy shakes his head.

“Man you're so weird.” the other guy said.

C.J. gets up from the chair.

“Thanks a lot and some friend you are Michael.” C.J. yelled.

C.J. walks off looking really mad. A young lady named Melody McLean walks over to Michael.

“What did you say to this time?” Melody asked.

“I just old him that he's so weird.” Michael answered.

“Well you've got to remember that he has bad temper at times.” Melody said.

Melody gets up and walks off to find C.J. C.J. is sitting on outside in the step. Melody comes out and sits next to C.J.

“Are you alright C.J.?” Melody asked.

C.J. nods his head.

“I'm just fine.” C.J. answered.

Melody and C.J. walk back inside. Rachel is sitting at the bar.

Melody walks over and sits down next to her.

“What's wrong Rach?” Melody asked.

C.J. is listening in the conversation without Rachel and Melody knowing.

“I was just thinking about all the trouble that I've had with guys over the years.” Rachel answered.

“Don't worry about it because you'll find someone when the time is right.” Melody said.

“I'm so tired of hearing that line and I'm seriously thinking about giving up on love every happening to me.” Rachel replied.

“You can't think like that” Melody says.

C.J. lets out a little sigh.

“Poor Rachel I think it would be better to wait until she's more confident with herself to ask her out.” C.J. thinks to himself.

Michael walks over to C.J.

“I'm sorry for getting you angry early.” Michael said.

C.J, smiles a little.

“It's alright just don't let it happen again.” C.J. replied

Reilly walks over.

“What are you all doing?” Reilly asked.

“Just talking.” C.J. answered.

“Well get back to work or I'll fire the whole lot of you.” Reilly said.

Melody and Rachel walk off to the counter. Michael and C.J. go into the back room. Rachel looks at Melody.

“Why did the guys go into the back room?” Rachel asked.

“They do the heavy lifting.” Melody answered.

“Which guy is the strongest?” Rachel asked.

“The strongest guy is C.J.” Melody answered.

Rachel smiles a little. C.J. comes out of the back room carrying a big box. Rachel looks at C.J. and smiles. C.J. looses his balance and drops the box on the floor. Reilly comes running over.

“Will you watch what you're doing?” Reilly asked in a yell.

“I'm so sorry boss” C.J. answered.

“Just do you work and don't drop anything again.” Reilly yelled.

C.J. picks up the box than he walks a few inches away and sets the box down again. Melody walks over to Rachel.

“I think he likes you.” Melody said.

“You're crazy he does not.” Rachel replied.

Rachel sighs a little. C.J. looks over at Rachel. Rachel notices C.J. staring at her.

“Do you have a staring problem?” Rachel asked.

“No I don't.” C.J. answered.

“Than stop staring at me.” Rachel yelled.

C.J. turns around and walks away. A girl walks into the plaza and looks around. Reilly walks over to the girl.

“Can I help you miss?” Reilly asked.

“I'm looking for C.J. Gordon.” the girl answered.

“He's around somewhere so I'll go get him for you.” Reilly said.

The girl smiles. Reilly goes off to find C.J. C.J. appears a few minutes later.

“Hi C.J.” the girl said.

“What are you doing here Whitney?” C.J. asked.

“I came to see you.” Whitney answered.

C.J. sighs deeply.

“I told you that it's over between us so please just go.” C.J. said.

Whitney looks at C.J.

“Please just give me another chance because I still love you.” Whitney replied.

“Well I don't feel the same way about you anymore and I'm interested in someone else now.” C.J. yelled.

Whitney growls she turns around than walks off and slams the door hard behind her. Reilly walks over to C.J.

“I can't believe that she's still after you all this time.” Reilly said.

“She doesn't know the mean of leave me alone because I keep telling her that it's over between us and she just keeps coming back.” C.J. replied.

Michael suddenly appears.

“Well hopefully she got the message this time.” Michael said.

“I highly doubt that and I know she'll be back again.” C.J. replied.

******Later on that day Rachel is working the cash*********

C.J. walks over to where Rachel is.

“How do you like working here so far?” C.J. asked.

“It's okay.” Rachel answered.

“You'll get use to it here.” C.J. said.

“Could help me out with something?” Rachel asked.

“Sure I could.” C.J. answered.

“What is the name of the other employers?” Rachel asked.

C.J. points to a girl cleaning the windows.

“That's Sarah Nolan.” C.J. answered.

Rachel looks over at a guy helping Michael.

“Who is that?” Rachel asked.

“That is Jeffrey MacIntyre.” C.J. answered.

A guy walks over to them.

“I'm Andrew Michaels.” the guy said.

Andrew points to another woman at working at the cash.

“That's Melody MacLean.” Andrew replied.

Rachel smiles.

“Yeah I know Melody because we went to school together.” Rachel said.

“Thanks a lot for the help.” Rachel replied.

Andrew smiles.

“It's no problem.” Andrew said.

A man walks over to them.

“Hi there I'm Darrin Gauthier” the man replied.

Andrew smiles as he sees a girl coming over.

“Hi Andy.” the girl said.

Rachel looks at the girl. The girl stands on her tip toes and kisses Andrew. Rachel looks at Andrew.

“Who is she?” Rachel asked.

“This is my girlfriend Annabel Peterson” Andrew answers.

Rachel turns her attention to Annabel.

“Do you work here?” Rachel asked.

“Yes I do.” Annabel answered.

Rachel smiles and walks off to find something to do. C.J. sudden appears beside Rachel.

“How are you doing now?” C.J. asked.

“I'm doing okay.” Rachel answered.

“That's good I'm glad to hear it” C.J. says.

Michael walks over to them.

“I'm Michael Janson.” Michael said.

C.J. walks off. It's the end of the day now. Rachel leaves and walks back to the apartment she shares with her cousins. Adrian and Alyssa in the living fighting over the TV remote.

“I had it first.” Adrian yelled.

“No I did.” Alyssa shouted.

Jayson walks into the room and takes the remote from them.

“If you can't share than you can't have the remote.” Jayson said.

“Ah Jayson you're not being fair.” Alyssa wined.

Rachel walks into the room.

“I have to disagree because I think he's absolutely right.” Rachel replied.

Rachel walks up to her room just as Heather walks in the door holding Juliana in her arms. Heather puts Juliana in her highchair. Alyssa walks over to Juliana.

“How are you doing today precious?” Alyssa asked.

“She's a little fussy but other than that she's fine.” Heather answered.

Juliana starts bawling. Rachel picks up Juliana and rocks her gently.

Juliana stops crying.

“Wow Rach you sure good with kids.” Jayson said.

Rachel smiles, she hands Juliana back to Heather and walks up to her bedroom.
