Elgas gazed tearfully out the window and Karu sighed.
"Why can't he understand? It's not that I don't love him..." he said and the old demon shook his head.
"His emotions are influenced by his parents. Also, telling him in bed was not a smart thing to do," Karu replied.
"I didn't. He figured it out. I was going to wait until morning."
"Your lack of sexual appetite is what tipped him off. You should have been more than ready to take care of his desires but you weren't."
"You're right. I should have been overjoyed to have him back but I wasn't. I was too busy thinking about losing him. Now he won't even let me explain. I don't want to leave with him thinking I walked out on him."
"Then talk to him."
"I don't know where he is."
"That's an excuse. Find him if you really want to."
"He's stubborn just like his father," Lee said as he came into the room.
"Where is he?"
"I don't know. He took Ryo's bike."
"I may have an idea where he is," Elgas said.
"How is his highness?" Karu asked and Lee looked at him.
"Asleep, thank god. Well you know what I mean," Lee said and Karu shook his head.
"I'm afraid I don't. We have no god."
"I know. It's an expression I picked up while living among humans."
"That's where I think Lyre is. That's the only place that would make sense," Elgas said and Karu looked at him.
"What are you talking about, young one?" he asked.
"Lyre. I'm sure he's in the city. I'll go there early in the morning. I can't leave here until I get all of this straightened out."
"Why are you leaving again?" Lee asked as Lirin ran into the room and hid underneath a table. Lee watched the small red dragon for a moment then turned his attention back to Elgas.
"I want to strengthen the relationship between us and the arcdemons. I'm going to do it for the benifit of everyone," Elgas replied.
"I understand but I don't know it Lyre will. He's a lot like Ryo."
"I feel so bad. I couldn't satisfy him."
"He'll live."

Lyre shivered and glanced beside him. He lay on the bed with Matt and Nate close to him. He had broken down and had sex with both of them. He had needed it and although it went against his cultural code, he had enjoyed it. He couldn't understand why it was wrong, though. Weren't humans supposed to be distance relations? Perhaps class came into play.
"In any event, I can't let my father find out," Lyre said to himself. Matt stirred and Lyre glanced at him. He found Matt the more arousing one of the two. If fact, it had been Matt that he had approached when he and Elgas had first come to the city.
"You can't have him," Nate said and Lyre glanced at him.
"I know that. I'm not going to take him. My lover has to be demon. I've already gone against my cultural laws by fucking you two."
"Why? Because we're not good enough?"
"I don't know."
Lyre sat up and Matt yawned. Nate crawled over to him and stroked his head. Matt shook in shock for a moment then sat up breathing heavily. Nate quickly embraced him and kissed his neck. Matt stopped shaking but stared into space as Nate moved up to his ear.
"It's all right, Matt," Nate said softly as he ran his fingers through Matt's short hair.
"What's wrong with him?" Lyre asked.
"He must have had a dream about the past," Nate explained. "Snap out of it, baby."
Matt shook his head and turned around in Nate's arms. The stripper held him close, feeling Matt's tears fall on his chest.
"It was a dream. Forget about it. It wasn't real."
"But..." Matt said as Nate ran his fingers down Matt's spine.
"Come on, Matt. Forget about the past. It doesn't matter."
"Why did I have to be working that night?"
"Snap the fuck out of it!"
"I know now is a good time to leave," Lyre said and stood up. He switched back to his human skin and picked up his clothing.
"He'll call you later," Nate said as he continued to run his fingers over Matt's skin.
"Only if he's up to it."
"He will be. He witnessed a murder at one of the clubs he worked in. It's been a couple years now but it still affects him."
"I can understand that. My father is still affected by his past. But I'll leave you two alone. Put some good thrusts in for me."
Lyre walked out of the apartment and sighed. He didn't want to go back to his apartment. It would be too...empty. He decided to take his father's bike and drive around town. There had to be something still going on. He lit a cigarette and gazed up at the stars that could barely be seen above the streetlights.
"You bastard!" Lyre cried as he wiped his eyes and mounted his father's bike.
