"Wake up Matt," Nate said as he shook his boyfriend. Mat stirred for a moment then opened his eyes. He sat up and yawned. Nate watched his tongue for a moment then stood up.
"What time is it?" Matt asked as he watched Nate stretch.
"Noon. We would have had more time to accomplish things if you had gotten to bed sooner."
"Then how come you're just as tired as me?"
"Because I catered to your desires last night."
"Thank you."
"Simply routine."
"That's all it is?"
"Well maybe it's a LITTLE more...."
"I would hope so."
"Do you think it would ever be routine?"
"I hope not. Then the moves would get boring."
"Perhaps. I'm going to take a shower."
"Do you really need it? Wasn't I the one that got sprayed last night?"
"We both got it Lyre. I feel bad for him. To have his lover leave like that...I know how it feels."
"Don't feel sorry for yourself. You have no reason to be."
"Yeah. I guess you're right. I've got no reason to feel sorry with you around. Why don't you call Lyre? You were supposed to anyway."
"All right. He was pretty depressed when he left, wasn't he?"
"I'm afraid I wasn't paying attention. I was concerned about you."
"Me? Why?"
"You had a nightmare last night."
"Oh..."
Nate took Matt's hand and tightly squeezed it.
"Forget about it. I'm taking that shower."
Matt yawned then walked over to where the phone sat and picked it up. He dialed Lyre's number then let it ring about four times. He then hung up and walked over to the closet.
"What are you going to wear?" Matt asked then listened to the sound of running water. He sighed as he took out a silk shirt and put it on. He buttoned the sleeves then went over to the dresser to look for some pants. He started when he felt hands on his rump.
"Don't DO that."
"Did I shock you?" Nate asked as Matt stood up.
"A little, yes," Matt replied.
"I'm sorry."
"No you're not. Not much anyway."
"You're right. So, are you going to get dressed?"
"I was trying to when you startled me."
"Hey, you know you like going around in the nude. That's why you're a stripper."
"True...but I do like to wear clothes. I certainly can't go out on the street like this. Not unless you want to bail me out."
"I don't know if I could afford bail. That would cut into our money for food."
Matt kicked him and Nate grinned.
"I wasn't serious. You know that, don't you?" he asked as Matt put on a pair of tight black jeans.
"I know that. Where are my shoes?"
"I don't know. Did you ever call Lyre?"
"When did I have time to call him? I mean hell, I haven't even eaten yet."
"Hey, you're the one that wanted one last round. So call him now. I'm sure he got more sleep than we did."
"Wait..."
"What?"
"I DID call him. You were in the shower. I didn't get an answer, though."
"Call him again. I don't know how soundly demons sleep."
"All right. What?"
"Nothing."
"That look was for something."
"It was for nothing. Did you leave it in last night?"
"I saw no reason to take it out. To hell with the guys that don't like it."
"You've got an attitude today, I see. Call Lyre again and we'll go."
"Did we decide on where we were going?"
"Just call him."

Elgas opened the door to the apartment and looked around.
"Lyre?" he asked then glanced at the ringing telephone. "Hello? No. I just got here. What? It's not like that at all."
Elgas hung up the phone and sighed. What could Lyre have gotten himself into?
**************************************
Lyre lit a cigarette and pulled his hair back in a ponytail. He leaned against his father's bike for a moment then sighed.
"Bastard," he muttered then mounted the bike. He was still angered at Elgas' decision to leave him. He started the engine and drove back to his apartment, not entirely sure what he would do once he got there. Probably drown his sorrows in a bottle of wine. Actually any type of alcohol would suffice for that purpose, he told himself as he strained to see what was in front of him.
"Damned human form," he hissed. "My eyesight is limited. How the hell do they hunt with eyes like these? What the...? That's..."
Lyre brought the motorcycle to a halt and got off. He approached Oceanblaze and stroked the horse's muzzle.
"What are you doing here?" he asked and the horse looked at him with its large, silent eyes. "Who brought you here anyway?"
"I came to talk to you," Elgas said and Lyre glanced at him.
"What else are you not going to tell me?" he asked and Elgas sighed.
"Would you listen to me? I don't think you really understand why I'm doing this."
"I understand perfectly. You're running out on me."
"Let's go inside and discuss this. The humans don't need to hear this."
"Don't touch me."
"Baby..."
"You're a fucking traitor."
Elgas kissed him and Lyre struggled for a moment then accepted Elgas' touch. He leaned forward slightly and ran his tongue over the insides of Elgas' mouth. Elgas' eyes closed slightly as he felt Lyre's lengthening nails dig into his skin. The kiss was long and passionate and Lyre licked his lips when he drew away.
"Are you ready to listen?" Elgas asked as Lyre looked him over.
"I guess I can, since you came all this way. Let me get rid of this shirt. I've been in it all night."
"Why?"
"Because I wasn't thinking. I was upset with you."
"I never meant for you to get upset. You left before I could tell you anything."
Lyre pulled off his shirt and flexed his wings, which he had allowed to grow out only moments before.
"So explain to me."
"I want to help you. While I was stuck here studying with Karu, I realized that the arcdemons are an extremely strong ally and we're not doing anything with them. They are still related to us and we need to make communication better for everyone. I want to do this for you, honey."
"Help me? How?"
"If and when you take over your father's position, wouldn't it be nice to have some allies?"
"Stop."
"I thought you missed my touch."
"I do. I mean I did. I do? Damn. Which is correct? Elgas..."
"It doesn't matter. Do you believe that I'm not running out on you?"
"I believe you."
"Good. I didn't want to leave with this problem not solved."
"I'm sorry. This was all my fault. I get like my father sometimes."
"Don't worry about it. So, you wanna make up?"
"All right."
*********************************************
"Elgas held Lyre close and Lyre closed his eyes. Elgas gently stroked his tail.
"Baby..." Lyre said as Lyre brought a hand to Elgas' chin.
"You've gotten better. Who have you been doing it with?" Elgas asked.
"Well I went to Matt and Nate's place," Lyre said.
"What did you do there?"
"Talked to them about a job."
"What else?"
"Nothing."
"Did they satisfy you?"
"They were good but they're much better with each other. So how long am I going to miss your touch?"
"I don't know."
"Damn."
"I'll let you make love with someone else if you need to."
"Yeah but it won't be the same."
"I know but I really want to do this."
"I understand. I guess I'll have to make the most of you while I can."
Elgas pushed Lyre forward and stood up. Lyre watched him for a moment then leaned back on the bed his violet wings disrupting the pattern on the sheet. He closed his eyes then opened them at Elgas' touch. Elgas sat straddled across Lyre's waist and gazed down at him. Lyre grinned as Elgas began running his hands on Lyre's skin.
"So when are you leaving?" Lyre asked as Elgas began his stride.
"Tomorrow morning by the looks of it."
"You wanna take my dad's bike?"
"You're going to stay here?" Elgas asked.
"For awhile. Why? Is Dad really pissed off?" Lyre inquired.
"He told your horse to kick you. He also told me not to reward you with sex."
"It's not a reward. It's an entitlement. Go faster."
"Like this?"
"Just like that. God I love you."
"What?"
"Sorry. I got that expression from Lee. I know it means nothing to us."
"So what did you mean by it?"
"Don't slow down. I need you to keep it at that speed."
"Sorry. Tell me what you meant, then."
"I really love you."
"I knew that."
"What time is it?" Matt asked as he watched Nate stretch.
