When Lyre awoke, he noticed that Nylia's hand was lying on him. He gently moved it and Nylia glanced at him. He crawled on top of Lyre and Lyre flushed slightly as he felt Nylia's groin touch his chest. Nylia gazed fondly down at him and Lyre realized that Nylia looked sexually malnourished. Just how long had he been unconscious? Nylia stared into his eyes for a few seconds then brought his hand back up onto Lyre's chest.
"It's nice that you finally woke up," Nylia said as he ran his fingers over Lyre's chest.
"How long was I out?" Lyre asked as Nylia leaned forward to kiss him.
"About four hours. You were so tantalizing unconscious. You don't know how much I wanted to take advantage of you."
"So you waited until I woke up. I was wondering why you had such a high sex drive right now. Four hours is a long time to wait."
"Yes it is. You looked so good asleep but I couldn't bring myself to doing it with you if you weren't awake to feel anything. It wouldn't have been fair for me to feel excited when you couldn't feel anything."
"Thanks. Honey…"
Lyre closed his eyes as Nylia kissed him and Nylia began to move his body over Lyre's. Lyre felt the rhythm of Nylia' flesh on him and his ears twitched in excitement. Nylia drew away from him and glanced at him then stood up. He turned around and moved back to Lyre's face where he lowered his body down so that Lyre gazed up at his crotch. Lyre instinctively opened his mouth as Nylia began massaging Lyre's groin them placed his mouth over it. Both closed their eyes as the dual sensation of pleasure washed over their bodies. Lyre wrapped his tongue around Nylia' groin and gently squeezed it as he felt his excitement grow. They both stayed like that for what seemed like a glorious eternity and then Nylia let go. Lyre swallowed heavily as Nylia drew his mouth, which was still dripping with liquid, away from Lyre's body. He glanced up at Lyre and smiled. Lyre returned the gaze as he watched Nylia play with his skin. Nylia kissed him gently then glanced back up at his face. He moved off of Lyre and lay beside him. He sighed contentedly and momentarily shut his eyes.
"That was so good," he said and Lyre nodded his head.
"It was," he said as Nylia stood up and stretched. Lyre stood up as well and flexed his wings. His body felt a little stiff from being unconscious for four hours. He bent over to touch his feet then stood up again. "I wonder what we should do now? That thing, whatever it is, will come back. He also said something about my father."
"You don't think he's in danger, do you?"
"I don't know. But, I'm wondering if we should go and look for him."
"How? We'll never reach them if we go by horse and we'll never get to them in time if they're in some sort of danger."
"I wasn't thinking of going by horse. I was thinking of calling Ikara up," Lyre said and Nylia made a face.
"I don't want him to drive us. I don't really like him," Nylia said.
"He won't drive us. We're going alone."
"How?"
"We'll take my dad's bike."
"Do you know how to work it?"
"I can figure it out pretty quick. It's our only option, Nylia. If my dad and Lee are hurt, I wouldn't feel right just standing here not doing anything. That guy I fought is tough and I don't think that even my dad can defeat him. That guy wants my dad and me dead and he's not going to rest until he accomplishes that. We've got to make sure that he and Lee are all right. I'm certainly not ready to take over the throne so we've got to help them if we can."
"Fine. I know you're right. You've gotten like your father again in your mindset and there's nothing that can talk you out of this one."
"That's because this is the right thing to do. Now get dressed."
"We can't wait until morning? What good does it do to travel in a direction that you don't know at night? There's no telling what you might run into," Nylia said and Lyre nodded his head in agreement.
"All right. We'll wait until morning. Ikara's probably asleep anyway," Lyre replied and Nylia grinned.
"Good. We can finish making love then."
"You want more?"
"I had almost four hours of nothing, dear. My appetite hasn't even been whetted."
"All right, then. Get back on the bed but you're taking the bottom this time."
"That's perfectly fine with me."

Ryo sat on the ground, his wings wrapped around his body. He glared at Lee, who tugged on his wingtips and grudgingly opened them. Lee laid a damp rag on the wound and Ryo bared his teeth in pain. Lee comfortingly ran his fingers through Ryo's hair as Lirin blew on the fire to keep it going. Lee had yet to learn just how bad Ryo's wound was but he knew that he had to do everything he could to keep Ryo's mind off the pain.
"I know baby, I know. It's going to be all right," Lee said soothingly and Ryo glared at him.
"Don't patronize me. We've got to get out of here. Once that bastard heals, he'll be back," he said as Lee ran his fingers over Ryo's ear.
"We can't leave. Not with a wound in you chest. We've got to stay here until you heal and that's going to take awhile. If he had just been content with stabbing you instead of twisting the blade around in your flesh…"
"Stop it. You're making it worse."
"Sorry, honey."
"I'll forgive you if you just shut up. What are we going to do about eating? I sure as hell can't hunt. Not with this pain," Ryo said as he growled slightly.
"I'm going to have to do it," Lee said and Ryo looked at him.
"I don't want you in danger."
"Ryo, there's no other way of doing this. I'm going to have to get something to eat. Lirin can come with me, if that would make you feel better."
"I wish you wouldn't go at all, but all right. Lirin can go with you."
Lirin wagged his tail and Lee bent down and patted his head. Lirin took to the air and flew alongside Lee as he walked off. Ryo watched him leave and growled in pain. Never before had he hurt so badly. He wished that there was something that he could do to put an end to the pain. He wanted to feel numb, to not feel pain at all. He waved his free hand and the fire died down. He had begun to feel hot and he was already suffering a lot more than he wanted to be. His eyes fluttered open then shut as he slowly reclined, fully aware of the pain shooting through his entire body. He folded his wings and wrapped his tail around his waist. The horse watched as he laid his head on the ground and fell into a deep and fevered sleep. Blackvelvet stood, silent but alert, and twitched his ears at the sound of a distant vehicle. He heard the noise grow louder as the machine came closer and he trotted in front of Ryo. He was not about to let his rider because injured further by some reckless driver. Lyre slammed on the brakes and the motorcycle skidded to a halt, nearly throwing Nylia off of it. Nylia shook slightly from the shock as Lyre glanced around.
"That's one of our horses," Lyre said as he climbed off of the bike. Nylia followed him as Lyre began to survey the area.
"Yeah, but where's your dad and Lee?" Nylia asked as Lyre circled around Blackvelvet.
"Dad's here. I thought I could smell his scent pretty heavily around the horse. Look at the size of that hole. I guess we didn't get here in time to help him."
"You mean…?"
"No. He's not dead. Not yet at least. See? You can tell by the way his chest rises and falls that he's still alive. Weren't you paying attention in science?"
"If Karu teaches it, I do my best to keep awake for the entire lecture period. I can't ever remember what he talks about. His lectures are so boring."
"If he can just hold out for a little longer…We still don't know where Lee is. It's not like him to leave Dad all alone. I wonder what happened," Lyre said as he glanced around for clues.
"Can't you smell him? He's one of your parents," Nylia said and Lyre began sniffing the air for a familiar scent.
"Yeah…yeah I can. He's off that way. Dad must have sent him out for food or something. I don't think Lee knew that he was this bad. Dad always tries to hold out for as long as he can. He was probably hiding the pain from Lee so he wouldn't worry about him."
"Lee worries an awful lot."
"I know. I can't change that, though."
"I know you can't. I wasn't asking you to."
"Stay with Dad, will you? I'm going to go find Lee," Lyre said and Nylia looked at him.
"Why can't we go together?" he inquired and Lyre sighed.
"Look at this place. Something bad had to have happened to get the surrounding area to look like this. Whatever hit Dad may come back and he's in no condition to fight."
"You think I am?"
"You're a hell of a lot stronger than Dad is right now. Just watch over him, all right? If he wakes up, he's going to try and act like nothing is wrong and he's only going to be in pain more. It shouldn't take me long to find Lee so just be patient. Pet the horse if you get bored."
"All right. I hope nothing happens. Take care, dear."
"I will."
