“We appreciate your hospitality,” Sato said to Jibushi as they shook hands. “I’m sorry for any trouble we’ve caused.”
Jibushi laughed. “It was happening without you around, so no harm.”
Sato scratched his head. “Yeah, I suppose. Well, give Otta my regards and sorry for his injuries.”
“Of course,” said Jibushi.
Sato looked around at Kanate. “It was good seeing you again. Keep in touch, okay?” he added, putting his thumb and pinky to his face like a phone.
He turned back to see everyone at their vehicles. Ryomaru chose to ride with Pinaka and Kisuro back to Tokyo. Sato walked down to the rental vehicle and looked over the top at Ina and Muma on the opposite side.
“We’ll be in battle as soon as we’re back in Tokyo,” he said.
The girls nodded. Ina added, “I just hope we make it in time to save Grandpa.”
“Me too,” said Sato. He looked around at Kisuro who was driving his own vehicle back. “Hey, you’re following me, right?”
Kisuro nodded. “Yeah. Lead the way, boss man.”
Sato got into the car, as did Ina and Muma. He cranked it, checked back at Kisuro and the others, and then put on the gas. As he made a u-turn in the driveway, he took a last glance at Jibushi and Kanate on the front porch as they waved to him. Sato hoped next time their get-together would be much more peaceful.

The sun was beautiful, Kaiban thought as he stared over the city of Tokyo, lighted by the daylight star above. He floated above the long antenna that shot out from the top of Tokyo Tower. The tower was the center of the Minato district, Risa had told him. He thought it was the perfect spot to begin building his castle.
Below him were Risa and Totsa. Grandpa Kannin was secured against the tower just below the antenna. Totsa held the sword.
“How do you like it?” Kaiban called down to them. “I believe this is the perfect spot to begin construction of the castle.”
“This radio tower is great,” said Risa. “If we can get these pathetic humans to do our bidding, everyone all across Japan will know of our domination of the country.”
“I like the way you think, Risa,” Kaiban said. “And I doubt these humans will be hard to persuade. They break too easily when their lives are at stake.”
“When do we start construction of the castle?” Totsa asked.
Kaiban shrugged. “I’m sure our little friend from Kyoto will be heading this way soon. We’ll give her time. Once she’s here, she can see the erection of our grand world herself.”
Risa laughed. “You mean that wet succubus? I don’t think we’ll hear from her for a while after the hurt you placed on her the other day.”
“She’s a feisty one,” Kaiban said. “She’ll be here, trust me.”

“Three characters have appeared above Tokyo Tower in the Minato district,” said the news broadcast on the radio. Sato and Ina exchanged looks as they listened to the news while driving down the road. Muma was passed out in the backseat, laying across the entire seat.
“It’s them, huh?” Ina said. Sato nodded.
“Two are dressed in white cloaks and masks,” the broadcaster went on. The sound of a helicopter could be heard in the background. “The other, floating higher, has a vicious demeanor, wearing a long cape. It also appears that an old man is tied to the top of the tower as well.”
Sato’s hand gripped the steering wheel tight. “Grandpa,” he said softly. Ina reached across the center console and placed a hand on his lap.
“It’s strange to see them floating above the tower somehow. Wait, it seems the leader has spotted us. He’s holding up a hand and––oh my lord!”
The broadcast went blank, immediately followed by static. Sato’s face went white. “That monster,” he said. “He’s killing innocent people for his own amusement!”
“Easy, Sato,” Ina said. She turned off the radio. “Concentrate on driving. Right now there’s nothing we can do to stop him, but we’ll hurt him big once we get to Tokyo.”
Sato glanced in the rearview mirror at Muma sleeping in the backseat. “Muma’s still tired from her fight the other day. And I’m not sure how Ryomaru’s doing.”
“Well, just don’t be so negative about what’s going to happen,” Ina said. “We’ll confront Kaiban, destroy him, and save Grandpa. Think of it like that.”
Sato sighed. “If only it was that easy. I’m not as optimistic as you are, Ina.”
Ina giggled. “I’m only optimistic because I know of your abilities. If anyone has what it takes to put an end to this, it’s you.”
“Maybe,” said Sato.

It was nighttime by the time the two cars entered Ota, Tokyo. Everything seemed fine. Nothing was amiss among the night traffic and pedestrians. Street lamps lit the town brilliantly. Muma pressed her nose against the backseat window, gazing out at the lights and watching the cars pass theirs.
“Sati, we should travel to Tokyo more often,” Muma said.
“Maybe,” said Sato.
“Sato, where are you going?” Ina asked as Sato pulled off of the highway into a gas station parking lot.
“I figured we need to converse with the others before going any farther,” Sato replied.
He put the car in park and shut it off as he got out of the car. Kisuro and the others pulled up behind them. The headlights of the other car went off and Kisuro got out. Pinaka stood from the other side with Jira on her shoulder.
“What’s up, Sato?” Kisuro asked.
Sato sat on the trunk of his rental and crossed his arms. “I figured we’re a little tired from the drive,” he said. “Minato is a couple ten kilometers north of here. We should discuss strategy and rest for a little bit.”
“Sure thing,” Kisuro said. “Hey, there’s a hotel over in Kamata. My family’s in pretty good with them. We can get some rest there, grab a bite in their café, and be ready to face Kaiban tomorrow.”
“That sounds good,” Pinaka said as she pet Jira. “It would be suicide to go into battle knowing we’re tired.”
“Good idea,” said Sato as he jumped down from the trunk. “Kisuro, you lead the way. We’ll be right behind you.”

Kaiban smiled as he stared at the flashing red and blue lights. Guns pointed straight at him from every direction. He was delighted at this confrontation. Now was his time to scare these pathetic humans enough to make them obey him.
“Do not resist!” called a cop over the megaphone. “Put your hands in the air and go quietly.”
Kaiban slowly raised his hands. In an instant a green ball of energy released from his hands. Cars went up in flames. The police cried in pain as they died horribly in the explosion. Kaiban glanced around at the other cops. They opened fire upon him.
Kaiban waved his hand through the air, creating a green shield of energy around him. He cackled loudly. “Is that the best you’ve got?” his voice boomed over the gunfire. He crossed his arms over his chest, spreading his legs, and then thrust his arms outward. The shield around him increased in size, covering the entire area. As the shield touched the police cars, they erupted into flames, wounding and killing the cops standing next to them.
Kaiban sniggered as he straightened his posture again. “This is too much fun!” he cried out enjoyably.
He glanced to the side as he heard something speeding toward him. He threw up a hand fast, knocking the rocket into the air. Kaiban grasped the rocket with his energy and brought it around. It struck the ground and exploded, sending dirt and concrete into the air, and bringing the death of more people.
“Too easy,” Kaiban said. “These pathetic humans don’t stand a chance against my prowess.”
“Kaiban,” said Totsa as he dropped behind Kaiban. “The old man grows weak. What do we do?”
“If he dies, he dies,” Kaiban answered, turning to Totsa. “We’re only keeping him to ensure that boy that was with Muma comes as well.”
“I thought you killed him,” Totsa said in disbelief.
Kaiban shook his head. “If he died when I shot him that time, Muma never would’ve gotten her powers back. I overheard them at the shrine. He said he would give her powers back.”
“I see,” said Totsa. “Well, no matter. When he comes, I’ll be the one to take care of him.”
“No,” Kaiban said. “You and Risa will deal with the demon hunters that are with them. I’ll take care of Muma and the boy myself.”
“Yes sir,” Totsa said, saluting with a fist to his chest.
Bright lights shone down from the sky. Kaiban looked up and saw helicopters approaching from all sides. Kaiban smiled. “That must be the American military stationed here taking action,” he said.
“Shall I?” Totsa asked.
“Well, I suppose I can’t have all the fun myself. Make a good show out of it.”
Totsa waved his arm through the air. Spirits slowly rose from the ground and shot upwards at the helicopters. The helicopters began to go crazy, jeering across the sky. They crashed into each other and fell toward the ground.
Kaiban’s eyes narrowed as the helicopters spun down toward him and Totsa. Kaiban placed a hand on Totsa’s shoulder and both teleported from the scene just as the helicopters crunched into the ground and erupted into flames.
Kaiban laughed loudly as he and Totsa stood on the roof of the observation deck in Tokyo Tower. No one could stand up to his might alone, and with Risa and Totsa at his side now, no one could ever possibly defeat him. He was proud of them for awakening him and staying at his side.

Sato looked out from the hotel room across the dark city. He was looking in the direction he knew Tokyo Tower was in. No news had come from that area in a while. The last report they saw on the hotel television was that all of Minato, Tokyo, had been evacuated earlier that day, before they even arrived in Ota.
“Damn,” said Sato, placing his hands firm on the windowsill. “Grandpa, please be okay. You can’t die, not now.” Emotions raced through him, and he felt tears form under his eyes. “I still need you. I have to finish my training and––and I can’t bear to live on my own.”
Kisuro, Ina, and Muma were across the room from him. Pinaka and Ryomaru were sharing their own room. None of them said anything as they watched Sato standing at the window. They didn’t know what to say anyway. He was soon going to lose his grandpa if he hadn’t already, the last of his family, and there was nothing any of them could do to help the situation.
Sato rubbed his eyes on the sleeve of his shirt as he turned around slowly to look at the others sitting on the same bed, watching back at him. He said, “Kisuro, tomorrow I want you to take Ina and head back to Teshimachi.”
“What?” said Ina quickly. She stood up from the bed. “Why do I have to go to Teshimachi? I want to stay with you, Sato!”
Sato shook his head. “It’s too dangerous. You’ll only get in the way and get hurt.”
“Sato––”
“He’s right,” Kisuro said. “If you come with, Ina, you’ll only get in the way.”
Ina looked around the room at everyone. Her eyes stopped on Sato. She lowered her chin and said, “I suppose you’re right. I’ll go back to Teshimachi then.”
“Good,” Sato said.
“But,” Ina continued as she looked up again, “you better come back to me alive, Sato. If not, I’ll do everything in my power to start your heart again and kill you myself!”
Sato brushed it off as a joke, laughing slightly, but the look on Ina’s face made clear that she wasn’t being funny.

Morning came too fast, Muma thought as she walked out of the hotel with the others. She stretched her arms into the air, opening her mouth in a huge yawn. She dropped her arms and looked around. Jealousy streaked through her as she saw Ina holding onto Sato.
Ryomaru and Pinaka headed for the rental car. Sato had an arm around Ina as she hugged him tight, both walking toward the rental car. Kisuro hung in the back of the group with Muma.
“Come on, Ina,” Sato said, finally pushing her away. He stood at the driver’s door of the rental car. “Don’t worry so much. We’ll all return in one piece, I promise.”
“You better,” Ina said, waving her pinky in front of Sato.
Sato looked around at the others heading with him. “Everyone in. It’s time to put Kaiban down.”
Ina watched with Kisuro as they drove away toward Minato. She turned to Kisuro and said, “I have a bad feeling about this.”
Kisuro nodded. “So do I.”

Sato eased on the brake as they came to a barricade in the road. One of the officers walked up to the driver side door and Sato rolled down his window. “What’s wrong, officer?” Sato asked.
“Minato has been placed off limits,” the officer said. “You’ll have to turn around.”
“So much for driving through,” Pinaka said from the backseat.
“You’re right,” said Ryomaru as he opened his door. Hasu stepped out with him.
“He has the right idea,” said Muma as she got down from the car.
“Please, get back in your vehicle!” the officer warned.
Muma jumped onto the hood of the car and stared directly at Tokyo Tower in the distance. “I’m coming for you Kaiban,” she muttered. She called to Sato in the car, “Come on! We’re going!”
“Don’t make me shoot!” the officer said as he brandished his gun.
Jira leapt from Sato’s window and knocked the gun from the officer’s hand. Sato got out, as well as Pinaka. Jira turned into wings that latched onto Pinaka’s wrist. Hasu turned into Ryomaru’s large wings. Sato stood on the hood of the car next to Muma and held her hand.
“The final showdown’s about to begin,” Sato said. “Let’s get to it!”
Muma’s shirt ripped from her body as her wings expanded. She held Sato tight and took to the air. Pinaka and Ryomaru followed quickly. The officers below watched in awe as the shadows passed over them.
“His power is nothing to play with,” Ryomaru said as he came up beside Muma and Sato. His scanner was reading the strength of Kaiban and the phantoms in the distance.
“We may not be completely prepared,” Sato said, “but we have to do what we can.”
“Sato’s right,” Pinaka said. “This fight will be our greatest test. We’ll have to give it our all.”
“No worries,” said Muma cockily. “Anyone going after Sati will be sorry they did. I won’t let anyone touch him.”
“Thanks a lot, Muma,” Sato said, his brow twitching, “but I can take care of myself.”

Kaiban stood half a kilometer from the base of Tokyo Tower. Risa and Totsa were at his side. He sensed Muma’s power approaching, along with another power almost as great as hers, and two puny powers that didn’t seem to stand a chance.
“They’re finally coming,” Kaiban said. “Finally they’ll see the perfection of my castle, and bow at my feet!”
The silhouettes were in the distance. They were coming at full speed toward them. Invigoration filled Kaiban’s veins as they neared.
Sato released himself from Muma’s grip and landed easily on the ground. He stared hard at Kaiban and the phantom siblings. “We’re here, Kaiban,” he said. “It’s finally going to end for you. We won’t let you harm anyone else!”
Muma, Pinaka, and Ryomaru landed behind him. Jira and Hasu transformed into their respective weapons. Kaiban glared at the group of four facing him, pleased at the hard expressions each of them wore.
“It’s good to see you all, finally,” Kaiban said. “Three days is such a long time to wait out here.”
“Looks like someone doesn’t have a life,” Muma interrupted.
Kaiban sniggered. “Muma, it is you I’ve been waiting the most for. I have something I want to show you.”
“What’s that?” Muma asked.
“Take a look behind me,” Kaiban said as a smile spread across his face.
Jibushi laughed. “It was happening without you around, so no harm.”
