I knew as I climbed out of my window that something was wrong…that this was wrong.
My mother warned me…over and over again not to go to his grave burial site, even now I am beginning to doubt that I should do this but I cant…I cant leave him alone. I landed on the hard grassy ground with a thud and started jogging to Angel crept grave yard.
My heart was racing, I could feel the blood pumping through my veins as every inch of my body screamed to turn back to crawl into the safety of my own bed.
The night was still and quiet and the only sound was my own frantic foot steps and my rapidly beating heart. I quickened my pace.
Finally I reached the old rusted gates of the graveyard. What I saw when I crept through the old entrance was both terrifying and beautiful at the same time. A full moon was out, it's light given the graveyard a luminescent glow. I tip toed through the tall grass and weed stopping to look over my shoulder as if I was trespasser on sacred ground.
Slowly I parted the vines that hung in my way as if they were long elegant curtains proclaiming that I was entering a important place.. Covered with over grown weeds and wilted roses was a tomb stone. The date and dedication long worn but the name still vivid and alive, the moon light shown upon it as if the stone belong to a king.
I knelt down on the soft moss and slowly ran my figures over the carved name.
Kyle S. Kingsly. “Kyle. S. Kingsly.” I whispered his name with so much tender love it scared me…yet it made me overwhelmingly happy.
