Work
Moscow Tech Mail Support had a full day today. Everyone did their best to keep the economy afloat. Nikita worked as middle management. Boring job, he knew. But, the man needed the money. He had a *shudder* a wife at home! So the money mattered. Mai still hadn't found a job yet. She was still looking though. Nikita wished her luck there. But soon, the man had other things to worry about. But soon, the man had other things to worry about.
It happened one day during the work hour. Nikita went to his boss' office to ask about the finance records for the month. On the way down the hall, he heard giggling. Nikita paused for a moment. He thought he had imagined it for a moment. So, the middle management listened in closely. It was true! Nikita did her giggling. A woman's voice at that. In the boss' office. Nikita stood there confused. He went over the facts in his mind. The boss, Yuri Zharov, was married. Sometimes his wife visited the company. But, Yuri had next to no interest in his wife. Plus, that sounded like a younger woman in the office. A fox to be exact. Yuri's wife was a fox, but more of an old maid-type. This was a vixen. Which only meant…
Nikita shook his head of that thought. “Right!” he thought. “The finances!” The man forced himself to keep going. As he walked, the giggling and moans grew louder and louder. They became harder to ignore. Nikita wanted to turn and run, but the records and his curiosity wouldn't let him. The man kept walking and walking. He finally came to Yuri's office. The sound came at him at full blast behind the door. Nikita suddenly became nervous. He felt that he would regret this moment for the rest of his life. But, the man just had to go inside.
So, Nikita drew in a deep breath and opened the door. Boy what a shock that met his face! He found his boss on the deck banging his secretary. Nikita stared on with big eyes.
“Oh shit!” he yelled out. No sooner had he said that, both Yuri and the secretary looked up right away. All three looked at each other in shock. Nikita stared at the secretary. Her name was Minty Ryaov. Woman of twenty-one. She was of British-Russian origin. Minty was a cute woman. Reddish-blonde hair to her shoulders. Creamy hazel eyes. Small cute Barbie figure. The glasses added on to her charm. Nikita put it all together in his head. Yuri was having an affair with Minty. Yuri was having an affair was Minty! Yuri was having an affair with Minty! During work hours in the office! Yuri looked at his employee confused.
“Nikita,” he spoke up. “What a surprise!” The other man looked on in a nervous panic.
“I-Is this a bad time?” he managed to ask at last. Minty looked at him embarrassed. Yuri became slightly panicked.
“Can't this wait?” he asked in a small voice. Nikita looked around again. His boss was hinting at him to leave now. The man took the hint very well. He shook his head quickly.
“No, it could wait!” Nikita spoke up. Then, he hurried right out of the office. As he left, Yuri and Minty went right back to screwing. Nikita shuttered in disgust. He hurried away to his desk.
The whole situation wouldn't leave his mind after that. Yuri practically bribed Nikita to keep quiet about the whole thing. The man did so reluctantly. But over the course of the day, Nikita had to let it out.
That evening, he made it home exhausted. Mai sat at the table eating when she saw her husband looking pale and stressed out. Mai became really worried.
“Baby, what's wrong?” she asked in her best Russian. Nikita didn't answer at first. He sat down at the table and sighed. Mai pulled her chair closer to him.
“Speak to me,” she said gently. Nikita sighed. No point in lying right now. He wasn't at work anymore and Mai pretty much saw through his lies. So, might as well start talking. Mai's going to find out the truth anyway. She always does! Nikita broke down and told his wife everything. Mai listened quietly.
“Wow!” she said at last. Nikita nodded.
“Yeah,” he said.
“So what are you going to do?” his wife asked. The man shrugged at her.
“I don't know,” he replied. “I'm just stuck.” Mai rubbed on his shoulder out of sympathy.
“Do what you feel is right,” she suggested. Nikita looked at her in silence. That didn't help, but it sure was a whole hell lot better than what Egor and Stefan would have said.
