The next morning I woke up to the alarm and Natalia putting her lace socks on and her high heeled dress shoes.

 

“I made breakfast if you want someone. I tend to wake up early so I thought you might like to eat before class.” Natalia stated as she stood up and walked over to the mirror and brushed her hair.

 

In the kitchen there was a stack of pancakes as Natalia walked in. “Care to join me, I made a lot so we may not be able to finish them.”

 

We sat at the table and ate as many of the pancakes as we could, we still had some leftover when we were done. After that I got dressed and put the shoes my parents and Devlin bought, even in my thought it seems weird to call him Devlin.

 

I began to brush my hair but Natalia took the brush from my grip and began to brush my hair. “Sorry I enjoying messing around with other people's hair. It just seemed like the kind of things good friends would do and I want us to be good friends Bella. We have to see the crashing balance of good and bad so it would be nice to have someone to support you other then a partner.”

 

In a way she was right. Yes your partner is perhaps the most vital of people to bond with but having friends who know what you are going through are also important.

 

“Well we should get going if you want to speak with Mr. Kirkland before class. We have the same schedule anyway, maybe because we are roommates who knows.”

 

We grabbed out things and went to class. We where early so we saw Devlin speaking with Mr. Kirkland.

 

“Just go over this for your night class and we should be fine. Also I am starting to hear rumors about you in the teachers lounge that I hope are not true for your sake.”

 

“I wouldn't know what those are so I can't comment Chester. I should go back to sleep because I have class tonight but thank you for the lesson plan.”

 

We where standing in the door the whole time unnoticed until Devlin had tried to leave. “Ms. Viray, Ms. Lerunce it is a pleasure to see you both but I must be going to wake ark up if he isn't already and send him down here for class.”

 

When he left Mr. Kirkland got up from his desk. “You must be Belladonna Lerunce, Mr. Zamir has told me about you. I am Mr. Kirkland. You will be learning everything you need to know from me such as the theory of your powers, fighting skills, discussing the thing you will have to overcome and things along that line.”

 

“Thank you for doing this Mr. Kirkland. I am happy to be going to school here.” I stated as I bowed to him a bit.

 

“I have faith that Mr. Zamir is right about you. It seems Ms. Viray is keeping you good company. I actually wanted to give her a message so if you could leave the room and look around the hall for a little bit.

 

I did as I was told when Ark showed up. “Morning.”

 

“Good morning.” We never did seem to be that social with each other. I did notice the male school uniform looked a lot like the female one expect jacket and pants. The red cuff where still there and a red tie was replacing the bow on the female uniform.

 

“The uniform....it looks good on you Bell. You know you should sign up to do something for the festival in a few weeks. I was thinking of helping out with on of the booths and wanted to know if you would help me. I still don't know what it would be because I am not really great at anything.”

 

“I am sure we can find something you are good at and if not you can always run a game booth right?”

 

“Bell I still want you to enter my mind. I don't want to tell you what I am hiding from you but I think it would be easier if you went in my head and saw it.”

 

Is he still not willing to trust me with whatever it is? What did you do kill someone? I will not enter you mind just to figure out what it is you can't seem to tell me. We are partners and I need your trust if we are going to be partners.

 

“My answer is still no. I need you to trust me with your life and the same goes for me. I can't trust you if you don't trust me Ark. I am not asking for you friendship or love, I am just asking for your trust.”

 

“That is a lot to ask. You have no idea about me or what I have done.”

 

“Then let me know! I can't help if you don't let me Ark.”

 

He was silent as the first bell for class rang and we went inside.

 

“Everyone we have two new students who are already partners. Mr. Ark Lauren and Ms. Belladonna Lerunce. Ms. Lerunce is a Songstress to Mr. Laurent's Puppeteer. Now we shall start our lesson for today.”

 

Our lesson was discussing the effects of getting hurt in a mind world and also what can happen if you fail in that world and the bad side wins over the good. If you fought the manifestation of the bad side and lost to it part of it would enter you meaning that you would need someone to enter your mind.

 

The bell rang for the next class which was girls PE for me and Natalia. It had a PE uniform in the gym locker ready for me and changed. Today we where playing tennis while the weather was still good. Natalia and I partnered up and played a singles match against each other.

 

“So you and Ark seem like friends and you are partners. You know he is kind of cute. If you get over this 'love is evil' phase you two would be cute together Bella.”

 

“Not my type, I am really starting to think I don't have a type even. Love doesn't concern me too much.” I just always thought I would fall in love when I was older so why bother with it now? Most school relationships don't live on anyway.

 

“Well I can't argue with your views I guess. How about we make the next game more interesting?”

 

Now this seemed fun. I admit I do have a problem when it comes to bets and taking them most of the time unless it is something insane.

 

“What are we betting on? Who pays for lunch or dinner?”

 

Natalia laughed and threw the tennis ball up and caught it as she placed out the bet. “Loser competes in the cross dressing contest. Winner will pick what the loser must wear and if it a tie we both enter. So are you in?”

 

“Alright. You will look good with your hair tied up.” I said as the game began. In the end we tied when the bell rang.

 

“Looks like we should go sign up huh? I can't believe that we both have to do this.”

 

“Your fault for making the bet. It will be fun right” Okay I wasn't confident in that and it showed in my voice, at least we wouldn't be the only ones because some of the teachers are in it too.

 

We made our way to the bulletin board at lunch with the sign up list and looked over the names. Chester Kirkland, Devlin Zamir, Ark Laurent...When did his name get on here!

 

“Looks like Ark lost a bet huh? Well let's get this over with.” Natalia wrote her name with pink pen on the list. I took out a blue pen and wrote mine.

 

“Hey Natalia where is your partner?” It was odd but after seeing Ark's name it sort of hit me I had never met her partner.

 

“Oh my partner's is name Miyuki Asukura. She is currently visiting her sick brother out of town. She should be back in time to laugh at me for this though. You know it just seems you may be right about the love thing...I shouldn't gossip to you about Miyuki.” Natalia seemed embarrassed, she needed someone to talk too.

 

“I won't tell a soul I swear. You need to talk to someone about it for whatever reason and it is our lunch break. We can head back to the room and you can tell me.”

 

Natalia nodded and we headed back to the room. People need other people to be there for them and too look out for them Whatever she wanted to tell me about Miyuki also had something to do with her or she wouldn't trust someone she barley knows with it. Really why can't Ark be like her?
