Today was the day of the Fall Festival which meant Natalia and myself where stuck handing out flyer's until the cross dressing contest but after that we where free to walk around. Most of the booth where run by clubs so normal students who weren't in a club where free to enjoy the festival. Miyuki was a perfect example of this.

 

Miyuki greeted us a few hours into our job with Tomoya. She was dressed in a pink lolita outfit today and Tomoya went with blue jeans and t-shirt. They chatted with us a while and then Miyuki wanted to go try some of Ark's pancakes and ran off with Tomoya.

 

Adrian to my surprise also came by and stated he would be sticking around the rest of the day. He actually helped us hand out the papers until Mr. Kirkland came to grab us for the cross dressing pageant. “Girls in that tent boys in this one.. Wait until they call your name and then walk up on stage.”

 

Natalia and I went off into the girl tent and dressed in out outfits and worked on our wigs for a while. “Okay I think I finally managed to get my wig to work with this outfit but how do you move in this many chains? These pant are heavy!”

 

Natalia had messed with her belt for the next few minuets trying to find the proper size so the pants would stay up. I was trying to tie the bow tie at my neck while she was doing that. I eventually figured out how to tie it and we laugh at each other when we where done. We both looked ridiculous.

 

“And now the moment you have all been waiting for, the fall beauty pageant.”

 

Natalia and I poked our head out of the tent so we could see the stage. “Our first contestant is a silent beauty who is a real heartbreak. Miss Ark Laurent!” Ark left the boys tent wearing a get up that looked like he just steeped out of a fairytale as a princess. He had the slippers and tiara to pull it off too and yet I couldn't help but laugh when I saw him hold up the skirt to walk up the stairs to the stage. He had a blonde wig that looked like curled hair on too.

 

“So Miss Ark you look like a princess, is there a prince in your life?”

 

“No way in he- I mean I don't need to be saved by anyone.”

 

“Well let's give it up for our independent princess! Next we have the coldest teacher at this school, you all know her and hate her, Ms. Chester Kirkland!”

 

Mr. Kirkland was hilarious to look at in his nurses outfit and the black long wig they had him in. It was just to funny I saw Natalia crying from laughing so much.

 

“Ms. Kirkland are you dressed like this to heal the broken hearts of the students?” The announcer asked as Mr. Kirkland scowled.

 

“I am dressed like this so I can have a good reason to put you in a full body cast.”

 

“Well let's move right along to our final beauty of the evening. She is the young heartthrob of many student at this school Ms. Zamir!”

 

Devlin walked out in the wedding dress holding a bouquet of flowers and he had a veil on his head with a short brown wig on his head. He actually looked like a woman compared to the other two. He was a shoe in to win this.

 

“We have a lovely bride here, so who are you getting married too?”

 

“Oh I am not getting married, I just thought I would be ready if someone randomly proposed to me.” He even threw his voice to sound like a girl. He should win for the work he was putting into it.

 

“Alright that was our lovely ladies. We are now moving to our handsome young men. Will Mr. Belladonna Lerunce come to the stage!” I walked out and went straight ahead to the stage ignoring the looks of those in the audience until I arrived on stage but even then I just looked at the announcer.

 

“Mr. Lerunce you are dressed like a groom, where you going to propose the the lovely Ms. Zamir?”

 

If I was going to do this I will do it all the way so I lowed my voice for my response. “You just ruined my plan! Well now that my plan has been revealed... Ms. Zamir will you marry me?” I even got down on one knee and face Mr. Zamir.

 

“Oh that is so sweet but you aren't my type.”

 

I got up and joined the other's in the line up as the announcer called for Natalia.

 

“Our final contestant is the wonderfully helpful Mr. Natalia Viray!”

 

Natalia walked out and got on the stage. “Mr. Viray for you calm personality why are you dressed this way today?”

 

“I... uh...”

 

“He is shy ladies and gentleman. Please go join the other's while we wait for the results of the voting.”

 

While we where waiting Natalia and I picked on Ark a bit for his outfit while he did the same to us. It was so silly for us to be doing this but somehow it was fun. It is something I suggest you do once in your life because when we looked out at the audience there where mixed looks.

 

The announcer came back up on stage and took the microphone. “The results are in and this year's winner is...Ms. Zamir!”

 

We all clapped as Devlin went to receive his trophy from the announcer and as soon as the announcer stopped talking we all ran back to the tents to change. As soon as I was done I went to hunt Adrian down and maybe have some of Ark's pancakes.

 

I was stopped by Devlin back in regular clothing. “Bella, I hate to impose this on you but we need you to enter the person we discussed earlier today. It is far worse then we had thought so I will be joining you along with Ark, Natalia, Miyuki and Mr. Kirkland. Please we need to contain this while we can.”

 

“Of course.” I followed him to outside of Mr. Kirkland's classroom and he took hold of my hand and opened the door. I gasped and almost fell over when I saw out victim. Laying on the desk in front of me was Adrian. This couldn't be right! There had to be some mistake I would have noticed if he had been taken over!

 

“No.” It was all I said but I heard Natalia singing her tune that sounded upbeat and I had no choice but to enter Adrian's mind.

 

We all awoke in what looked to be an army base from a video game. Our clothing had changed too. We where all sporting leather and had some odd looking weapons. “You guys have made a mistake, there is no darkness here! I will say though I will kill him for putting me in such a skimpy outfit.”

 

“The reading exceeded anything I have ever seen Ms. Lerunce. Your friend was taken over by darkness an unless you want him to die you will save him do you understand that? I know you have ties to this boy but you must set those aside.”

 

He was right as much as I didn't want he to be. This was a normal case and I had to try to save him before it was too late no matter how much it hurt to do this.

 

We went ahead and began to see proof of the darkness in the monsters that where on the path to what looked like a giant tree. “Okay I am starting to believe you where right.” I said as I took out a dagger and attacked the monsters that had managed to swarm us.

 

Natalia had been tapping into her power of wing and unleashing attacks that made it so we could run ahead without fighting everything. We did have to some of the beast before we made it to the tree and saw Adrian under it.

 

“Bella...What are you doing here?”

 

“Adrian please listen to me. Relax this won't take long.”

 

“Really? You aren't going to even explain how you are here? You always hid thing from me, I knew about your power for years and I was just waiting for you to tell me. I had such high hopes for you, hell I loved you even. You ignored my feelings for you and pushed me aside to nurture your powers. You never really cared did you?”

 

“Adrian...I didn't want to involve you in a life you would never truly understand. I neglected your feelings for me on that basis and the fact I didn't feel the same. I will save you, I promise that.”

 

“Bella don't you get it? You can't save me from this. The darkness inside of me has fed off my love for you over so many years, it would be impossible for you to purify it.”

 

He was right, I was a novice at this and even experts can't purify a large mass of darkness. There was one other option, I hated it but it would be the only way to make sure this darkness would be gone.

 

I walked ahead and heard the other's yelling in the background not to do it. I would give Adrian what he wanted so I pulled him into a kiss. The second our lips met my dagger had met with his back and it went through the skin. I gave it a little twist and cried as I pulled away and threw the dagger down. I had killed Adrian in his own mind.

 

“I loved you...” It was what fell out of my mouth as I looked at the pool of blood that consumed the body of my best friend.

 

Natalia quickly began to sing as the world was starting to fall apart. I was crying as Ark grabbed me and let me cry on his shoulder. I might have killed my best friend, and for what to stop some darkness that may not have done anything to harm him? When we where back in the classroom and ran off to the dorm room and locked the door to the bathroom and cried myself to sleep in the bathtub.
